I have just one wish for ESO - that ZOS would change scaling of weapon and skill damage in a way, which makes hybrid builds viable options and "end game" gear more versatile. It is so boring that the game is currently so magicka or stamina only centric and all "end game" players have to more or less wear the same gear to be competitive. This takes away from the fun someone would have by developing characters, which have a unique and surprising combination of skills and abilities with armor choices after their liking while still being viable in pvp combat. ESO's end game is currently something, which I do not even desire to reach, because I can see how boring it will be.

They had that when the game launched, with abilities mixed (costs stam, does magicka damage and vice versa), with all weapons doing weapon damage (even staffs), with gear that had mixed bonuses, and with soft caps. Only some of the abilities with the cost and damage being from different resources remains, and those may be gone soon.

This is as well not creative and not what I would expect from a change. I am thinking of scaling in a non-linear way, so if you would concentrate on just one attribute, the effect of an additional point put into it would be less the more points you put into it. To me this makes sense, because there is no linear progression with that in real life as well. You will gain more abilities quickly, if you start to advance in a profession at first, but from a certain point on, your progress will slow down to a crawl and mastery can just be achieved by the most dedicated people.
So my idea of it is, that attribute points, put into the lowest attribute will have more effect than when put into the attribute with the highest value - and the higher the difference is between both attribute values, the stronger the effect of this scaling. This would not avoid pure stamina or magicka builds, they would still have the strongest attack in their category, but a hybrid build would have more options and a bigger pool of resources, even he will not have the highest effect in any of those.

In no particular order:
- Do away with Vet ranks. Open all areas to players once they hit 50, so they can explore them at their discretion.
- Delivering on the improved NPC animations (including body and facial language) that were shown at QuakeCon 2014. Throw in some improved voice acting too. Too many NPCs are emotionless wooden spoons.
- Thin out the mobs (cut pops in half maybe) to make the world feel bigger and make exploration feel more, well, explorative. Currently everything is jammed so tightly together it hardly feels like anything is remote, and makes the world feel smaller.
- Add in housing, perhaps phased houses located in cities much like Black Desert's system.
- Add in naval combat and piracy.
- Barbershop, including sliders for body and face changes.
- Ability to dye costumes.
- Ability to create costumes.
- Mini games. Dice games, card games.
- Horse racing.
- Greatly improved performance - perhaps a new engine for this. Got a feeling the current engine is the root of a lot of the performance issues.
- And finally one I'd love, but it'll never happen in a million years - open world PVP in all zones post-50.

Well, if they could do something about the lag that'd be great. I can play Battlefield 4 without any latency problems whatsoever and yet I still have 450-600 ping when I play this.

I guess all my time waiting on a company to make a MMO set it the Elder Scrolls universe will have to continue. ESO doesn't know what it wants to be. It is trying to be a single player RPG, but still sell itself as a MMO.
MMO's just cannot work this way. At least not properly and definitely not and hope to ever have any form of "Balance" between classes. Throw in the fact that every class can do every role and you can forget there ever being any form of "Class Balance"
I have come to except that ESO is and never will be a true MMO.
ESO is fun do not get me wrong, but it is not what I had hoped or thought it would have been. The decisions made by ZOS have made it clear that ESO will be at best a "BabiesFirstMMO".
While still fun and something that I will come back to play from time to time ESO is not "The MMO" that I will be spending years playing like the past great MMO's such as WOW/Everquest/Asherons Call.
ESO just lacks that "Grab you" that "Sucks you in" that the great MMO's have had over the years. Those games you could spend years doing end game content. ESO is a decent game, but it just fell short in so many areas that are desperately needed for MMO's to shine.
Just my two septims
tinythinker wrote: »I only have time to mention a few things right now, but it's a start... [see many of these ideas as they might look together in a fun day of gaming]
New immersive systems, mechanics, content
- Classic Elder Scrolls diseases transformed for an MMO.
- Skooma crafting with quests and a new dimension to the underground economy.
- More dynamic events (an old example can be found here) in PvE and PvP.
- Add variation in caps to mount stats according to mount type (i.e. senche have a higher max speed than guar)
- New music/themes for different zones.
- More logical/lore-friendly effort when introducing new zones in Alliance territory (here and also here).
- Add a *lot* more music and give us cutscenes
New general mechanics for more design options
Race, Class, and Skill Line Additions/Changes
- Simple buffs for Templars to make them better at what they do. More complete set of changes for Templars to make them better at what they do.
- A few changes for Dragonknight to make them better at what they do.
- A revised racial passive system that keeps the current theme but adds customization *or* a Background system based on race lore.
- Devotional skill lines and/or religious totems. Also check this larger idea out and my take on it.
- Fun and lore-friendly Vamp/Werewolf buffs and debuffs.
- Illusion spells that involve emotional manipulation, such as frenzy (see here and over here).
- Add missing races like Dragons, pre-mutilation Falmer, etc, *IF THEY ARE DONE PROPERLY*
- Give better rewards for Cadwell's Silver/Gold: unique motif, unlock faction switch, unlock class morph (gold only), etc. Giving one, two, or all of the three examples would be good. Actually, just make it all three (or something equivalent to each): Silver= faction unlock, unique motif. Gold= faction unlock, class morph. Also unlock new questline in old Alliance zones (has own bullet further down).
- My version of class morphs
- Expand the fishing system without ruining the challenge of base-game fishing achievement (see second spoiler after clicking through to comment).
Improving Alliance War Zones and PvP mechanics
- An overhaul to the Alliance War that emphasizes choice and strategy and maybe an AP/XP toggle.
- Add mechanics that synergize Cyrodiil and Imperial City, making all areas of both maps tactical and strategic.
- Add spy missions as well as capture/escape mechanics to Imperial City for more fun for solo players doing AvA and increased immersion.
- Make changes to encourage Alliance and Alliance Campaign pride.
- Make Cyrodiil bigger to have room for more content (including instanced/partitioned content (like PoW camps) and to make controlling strategic locations more of a challenge.
- New PvP achievements (here are a few more or get the most recent list with old and new achievements put together and nicely ordered) and special rules campaigns beyond just scoring changes.
- Add "moving flags" (supply transports, prisoner marches) to Cyrodiil for small group objectives.
- Invert the AoE caps in Cyrodiil to make AoE be weaker against small groups and stronger against larger groups.
Improving/building on base game PvE zones
- New quests in old Alliance zones building on the choices you made/characters you previously met.
- Retrofitting Craglorn and suggestions for any new Adventure Zones.
- Level-matching high-level players at low-level dolmens, expanding dark fissures into full-scale "events", and giving bonuses to rare roles in dungeon queue (while adding vote-kick and a rep system to reward good play/discourage faking in the queue role selector).
Miscellaneous In-Game
- Give small temporary buffs for completing Coldharbour Skydrops and Bandit attacks.
- Annual contest for player-designed things, like gear sets, costumes, pets, etc.
- A barbershop/battleground combo (would not include faction change if above bullet adopted).
- Add a mentor system to the LFG tool. A better version with commendation and mentoring system.
- Altering the racial style of drop-only set items.
- Custom racial/class emotes (other than just racial dances).
- Let crown (the group leader) set a combat target (PC or NPC) for the group.
- More general emotes and a minimalist/transparent emote hotbar for PC/Mac.
- Murkmire. Yeah, I know it's "in the works" but with four vet Argonians it is essential to my more hopeful/completed view of ESO. Which gets into...
- More variety in ESO swag.
Community/ForumsMaybe more later.
- The too easy/too hard debate.
- On the idea of "Play as you want".
- More constructive/thoughtful criticism on the forums (how to guide included).
- Idea for recognizing "community contributors" who can be selected as "comunity champions".
