☆ Public Holidays

Tis the season to be jolly but not if your world is nirn.
Its time to see the seasons come alive in ESO this helps the player base feel more at home in ESO.
You could even go as far as having special dungeons and items so what say you ZOS?.

Think of the money ZOS you would make from seasonal items sold at certain times each year in the crown shop.

First mentioned by @Roneth

New Life Festival - January
Today the people of Tamriel are having the New Life Festival in celebration of a new year. The tradition of free ale at all the taverns of Tamriel continues.

Heart's Day - February
This holiday is celebrated all over Tamriel as Heart's Day. It seems that in every house, the Legend of the Lovers is being sung for the younger generation.

The Day of the Dead - April
The superstitious say that the dead rise on this holiday to wreak vengeance on the living.

Merchants's Festival - July
The bargain shoppers of the known world are out in force today and it is little wonder, is a holiday called the Merchants's Festival. Every marketplace and equipment store has dropped their prices to at least half.

Harvest's End - August
Perhaps no other festival fires the spirit of Tamriel as much as the one held today, Harvest's End. The work of the year is over, the seeding, sowing, and reaping. Now is the time to celebrate and enjoy the fruits of the harvest, and even visitors to the celebrated region are invited to join the farmers. The taverns offer free drinks all day long, an extravagance before the economy of the coming winter months.

Witches's Festival - October
Known throughout Tamriel as the Witches's Festival when sorcery and religion clash.

Warriors Festival - November
Most all the local warriors, spellswords, and rogues come to the equipment stores and blacksmiths where all weapons are half price.

New Life Festival - December
Originally a holiday for a long forgotten god of debauchery, it has become a time of gift giving, parties, and parading.

☆ Hit Contact

when swinging a weapon you need the feedback to give it a realistic feel.
If you attack a building, tree or what ever else you dont get any feedback as it simply goes right through.
Now of course this would require a lot of work to get it right but this would go a long way to brining ESO up to next gen gaming.

☆ Idle Npc Chat And Motions

Npcs still feel very motionless and the cities feel oddly quite.
What about having beggers that beg for gold that you only hear if you walk pass.
Npc carrying around objects and dropping them off like a dock worker dropping off goods to a shop keeper.
Npc that walk around including the guards that spark up small conversations with each other as they go about the city.
Shop keeps telling someone to get out of their shop when a npc tries to haggle with them.

Things we are use to seeing in an Elder Scrolls game as we have seen you guys are already doing well with this by adding more motions to npc speach.

Agree with most. I've said it before; I highly doubt they will be able to code in weapon contact visuals in the way that some have mentioned in the past.

Can they set sound file X to play when weapon swings through object Y? Sure, if they can separate individual categories like buildings, trees, dirt, etc. How about visual model destruction/impairment when weapon contacts said model? Due to the amount of artwork that would need to be revised, I don't see this ever happening.

    Regardless @Heromofo , it's a great write-up, as usual.

Also good to be back Nas i just need to be careful about what i post. :D

They should add server side radiant AI to the npcs to give them daily routines like in oblivion or skyrim. merchant npcs should perhaps work shifts so that players can always buy and sell. just an idea.

We Really have talked about holidays until we are blue in the face. We want them. ZOS ignores them.

I like the hit contact concept. There was a thread on here that discussed world contact but I was unable to find it
with 30 seconds of searching. Heheh. I would be happy with a simple clang and a ricochet animation any time you're up against an area you can't walk. No need for contextual sounds of wood or anything.

    Idle animations? Yes please!
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.

I'm not really interested in holidays of this nature. It's always implemented in a corny way.

Weapon feedback & better NPC interaction is cool. Although I think there may be bigger fish to fry.

P.S. I really like fried fish. If it wasn't for seafood, I think I could be a vegetarian.

I've been wanting lore appropriate holidays for awhile (on lore appropriate calendar dates as well), I just hope they don't try to shoe-horn earth holidays in, the Holiday list for the Tamrielic Calendar already has some resemblance to earth holidays so there's no need for the extra step.

    Idle animations would be cool.

Indeed the list above is their version of our holidays would mean alot to bring them in but also because it also means people will want to jump on especially for the holiday events.

Worked really well on wow and warframe.

I agree with most but I feel that the holidays in game should be ones that are less like our own holidays, among the one's in your list I feel the Merchant and Warrior festivals fit the best with ES without feeling to familiar.

Holidays - no no no. I know that a lot of you in the US are Christian and follow Christian holidays, but there are loads of us who play the game who aren't and don't want that in game. Just leave it secular.
    I wouldn't mind lore-correct Tamriel holidays included.

Sorry, just so used to "why don't we have Christmas/Easter/Halloween" posts that I kind of go on autopilot and get a loud buzzing in my head when I see requests for holidays :) I am cool with it as long as they are all lore correct.

I´d love more NPC chatter but I don´t really dig the holiday stuff. If they can be implented according to lore, then maybe but I´d rather not want to see crappy holiday stuff like in most MMORPGs.

I would love to see more things added to boost the general atmosphere in the game. More lively NPCs would definitely be the best way to do so - maybe even add some children running around.

The hit contact is not a big must for me.

The festivals thing would be amazing, as it gives the whole community a boost, and more players will be on regularly, at least in a period (like when they had the Welcome Back events). BUT it should be kept extremely lore friendly, like the suggestions given. That means no Santa or Easter Bunny costumes. It all has to be Tamriel related/looking!

O I agree but the above is very lore friendly to Nirn so it would be good to see. :)

Yes to Hit Contact. This will probably never happen though.

No to holidays. It would be ironic as hell to see ZoS go against the grain on so many avenues in most modern mmos due to the "Idea Of Immersion". Then flip a 180 and have some weaboo holidays in the world of Nirn which is kind of dark.

/idle, /idle2 and I think it goes all the way up to /idle4.

Then there's the /leanbackcoin one. /saluteloop2 (or is it 3) works good too.

Getting bothered by seeing all these polls. Disagreeing with everything out of principle now.

Perhaps slow down with them? One a month?
I am not spending a single penny on the game until changes are made to the game that I want to see.
      1) Remove having to be in a guild to sell items to other players at a kiosk.
      2) Cosmetic modding for armor and clothing.
      3) Difficulty slider.
      4) Fully customizable player housing that isn't tied to anything in the game other than having the correct resources and enough gold to build. Don't tie it to PvP, guild membership, or anything at all. Oh, make it instanced so as not to take up world map space, too. Zeni screwed this one up already.
Any /one/ of these things implemented would get me spending again, maybe even subbing.

I don't want to see any holidays that don't already exist in lore.

I care so little about the "idle animations" it was just easier to say disagree to all.

Oleman these are lore friendly and needed as it draws people in on the holidays combine it with my new episode.
