Over 100 geysers in Summerset, 100 World Bosses in Vvardenfell, countless dolmens and still no event pages. I have nothing against farming when it's reasonable but this RNG is getting infuriating. Not to mention that you can't trade the pages or buy them with gold or tickets.

Not if they're not in the top 12 damage dealers. That's the second layer of failure. Players who can't do as much damage as others are left holding the empty bag. So not only is there an oppressive RNG factor for the style pages, but what ZOS calls "low end" players get less overall rewards than the rest.

You don't need to be one of the 12 damage dealers, you only need to do 3% of the max HP damage to the boss/mob/npc to get loot. If you can manage to do so by timing your attacks in a way that they will be processed by the server-system BEFORE the hoard attacks, you will get loot.
And just in case. I am not a player wearing BiS equipment and I am not a player who does extrem high damage to npcs. I am a casual player, doing moderate amounts of damage. Still, I do manage to get loot from geyser bosses, though there are 30+ players at it. The times I do get loot are those when I do manage to time my attacks right, so that the system processes them and recognizes me doing at least 3%+ of the npc max HP as damage.
I tried a few geysers in Summerset but I never got any loot in the final. I'm not sure if it's bugged or if I'm missing something. Anyway, it's a total confusion. Tons and tons of players doing the same. We can't even see anything. So, I really prefer to quit that, and I'll buy those styles later after the event. I prefer to pay a lot for it and have fun playing meanwhile than ruining the game by falling on the monotony of grinding.

Unfortunately, that's part of the issue here - the "special" anniversary style pages with the horrible drop rates are also bound, you will not be able to buy them.
You do need to be among those with the “highest participation” to make the loot cap:

I’ve done 50k on several geyser bosses and still not made it this event. Others have had similar experiences too.
Also confirmed well over 7.4k to Menta Na, and that’s 3% of their health. No boss loot.
There are two requirements here.

Not everyone can sit there and mindlessly grind away after doing nothing but mindlessly grind at their job for 40 hours a week minimum.
While the idea of these new styles is great, having them tethered to the event is not the best.
An anniversary event should celebrate all aspects of ESO, and reward players for their favorite activities rather than force them into the worst aspects of the game.
I worked 40 hours this week, watched my kids, and still found time to get the style pages. One just has to want them.

I've been on this site since 2015 and this is the most useless comment that I've seen in all those years. It doesn't matter how much you want an item to drop when rubbish RNG and low drop rates are involved. I am sitting at 4 of 5 pages and just need the Sunna'rah staff and no matter how much I want that style page to drop, it will only drop if and when it drops. Maybe it will be the next kill and maybe it will be 500 kills from now. Introducing the style pages for the anniversary event is a win. Poor implementation is an absolute loss.

Think about it. As long as they're bound, and not sellable, once a player gets it, they no longer need to put up with the geysers/dolmens/vvardenfell anymore. They can move on to the rest of Tamriel to get boxes from a virtual plethora of sources at a much better rate than WB's and Geysers. Eventually the crowds will thin out at the world events and world bosses because this event lasts 20 days.
Make them tradeable, and that hoard of farmers will never leave. And buying them lessens the value of the item to the point that nobody really cares if you have the style or not.

Not because that's exceedingly bad, but because it's uncharacteristically "lucky". 70 geysers and no Ul'vor. I did get lottery-level luck with Sunna'rah, as it dropped on the second WB yesterday, but judging by how long people remained at the boss I camped, that's an extreme outlier. Meanwhile, 31 WBs today and probably around 10 on Friday and no Barbas. The only upsides of failing to get the helm is it's far less tiresome to camp a boss, I get to watch videos and actually grab event boxes, unlike in geysers (because I can never do enough damage).
I can't speak for others, but my idea when trying to farm these pages now is to get them out of the way so I can enjoy the event later. It's not impatience. Of course, getting them out of the way is proving to be a challenge.

Well... Not really like dolmens, geysers are absolutely horrendous to play in every way. The ping on dolmens even with a lot of players are usually around 100 to 150, which is perfectly fine. On geysers the ping is permanently above 999. You can't see anything, everything stops and then you see all in a different place, but there's no animation, just pieces jumping places. It's really horrible. And in the end you'll never get any reward unlike dolmens.
I think that all rewards should be spread all over Tamriel (like the fishing one) and not stuck on one single zone. That was a bad idea. It's chaotic and not fun.

the only problem i saw on geysers was the boss would regularly sometimes be disintegrated before it even rendered, but i had no actual lag or any other issue

It's a new problem. It only started with this event.
There are always above 20 or 30 players on geysers, even right now at night. And the servers clearly don't support this number of players at once in the same zone. So, while the geyser is on the ping rises above 999. Many times I'm even removed from the server while trying to play it. But right after it ends, after all players leave, the ping returns to 100. It's only when there are dozens of players there. You can test it now. I'm on PC EU.
