A 20 day event, but people want to have ALL THE THINGS NOW!

Even with the event being 20 days, at these drop rates many of us will not be able to get them all.

Not to mention that most players wont have near 20 days available to play in their personal schedules Those people aren't 'outliers', and they're just out of luck.
The problem with society these days is that no one drinks from the skulls of their enemies anymore.

Not everyone can sit there and mindlessly grind away after doing nothing but mindlessly grind at their job for 40 hours a week minimum.

While the idea of these new styles is great, having them tethered to the event is not the best.

An anniversary event should celebrate all aspects of ESO, and reward players for their favorite activities rather than force them into the worst aspects of the game.

OTOH, the RNG drop rates for this anniversary are much better than they were for the 2015 ("First ") Anniversary Event.

SOME of you will know what I mean.

I worked 40 hours this week, watched my kids, and still found time to get the style pages. One just has to want them.

Still waiting for the Murkmire event to return, since I couldn't complete the collectible fragments first time around…

Been at 6/7 fragments for the memento ever since with no sign it will ever come back. The spot for the 7th piece has even vanished in the fragments menu, which feels like a bad sign to me.

This also made me lose any faith in event items coming back.

Ya, that's probably it. While I keep killing this world boss over and over and over and over, I must not be wanting it bad enough. Thanks for the stellar advice.

Yes the drop rates for the WB, Geysers are pretty bad, but TBH I've gotten a ton of really great style pages from the event boxes. I'm pretty happy with that.

It is frustrating if you really want the special items, but those aren't the only things available...

Yeah, the special pages aren't the only ones available. But they are the ones only available during the event. the rest you can get all year. (insert Think Mark, Think meme here)

I got the Staff of Worms after 34 dolmens and it appears I'm an outlier. Not because that's exceedingly bad, but because it's uncharacteristically "lucky". 70 geysers and no Ul'vor. I did get lottery-level luck with Sunna'rah, as it dropped on the second WB yesterday, but judging by how long people remained at the boss I camped, that's an extreme outlier. Meanwhile, 31 WBs today and probably around 10 on Friday and no Barbas. The only upsides of failing to get the helm is it's far less tiresome to camp a boss, I get to watch videos and actually grab event boxes, unlike in geysers (because I can never do enough damage).

I can't speak for others, but my idea when trying to farm these pages now is to get them out of the way so I can enjoy the event later. It's not impatience. Of course, getting them out of the way is proving to be a challenge.

Why not just make quests to get them? Like do 15 dolmens for the reward as an example?
    These are bound anyway.

Yeah, that would have been much better, specifically as they are not tradeable.

Those 5 Style Pages are *BOUND* and can not be sold!

The only hope you may have is, that they will be made available at a later date (eg. next year) through the event vendor for tickets. BUT(!), I wouldn't count on that. I do think they are event exclusive!

Regarding the drop rates. Its really pure and really bad RNG :( .

I, for example, did 72 geysers in Summerset and 28 dolmens in Auridon yesterday and got nothing. In Vvardenfell I did 5 WBs and got both Style Pages.

The one from fishing I haven't tried yet!

Bad RNG is bad programming, it is not difficult to code in a "relief" for people who are outliers. i.e. if you haven't gotten it within X try's the game automatically populates it for the last drop, you can also fix the RNG range to alleviate for extreme outliers, this isn't complicated. So the frustration is by design, though it boggles my mind why you would do this to any customer. Of course their are companies that give a $20 gift card for a Christmas bonus, so not everyone respects the time of their employees or customers.

Although mistakes have been made regarding drops in the past I concur, this is not arbitrary at all.

How long players engage with the event and the fact that the grind can be completely bypassed with event tickets, which can be purchased for 'real world' money, most definitely factor in on their choices and where resources to plug unforeseen workarounds/bypasses are diverted to.

There is consideration given to the player experience, but with an eye firmly placed on where it intersects with the publisher's goals.

This isn't exactly true as these items cannot be bought with event tickets.

Also I do suspect it might be 5 buds sitting in basement coming up with this considering the transmute suprise event fiasco.

It took me about 8 hours to get the staff of worms. I'm about 2 hours into the geysers now and I'm expecting to be there for a while based off of what others have been saying. I got characters that need leveling, so might as well make the most of it.

Honestly, I would appreciate if we received more grinds like this in game for cosmetics. It gives players a reason to do content instead of get everything done in a day and move on. If it's built to be under 10 hours, I feel like that would be the best. Anything longer would have to look very good to be worth getting or else it would be a waste of time.

    Let's see here.

Two full days(I play all day CEST and then a bunch at night with my American buddies on PC NA) of dolmens. Got the drop yesterday.

Two full days almost of geysers with less boxes than what's on one hand to get the staff.

Fishing one took half an hour.

World boss one I worked on for about an hour one evening and got Sunna, but the helm still evades me. I don't do rounds, I camp the Nereid boss.

Finally finished all five styles yesterday. My drops were as follows:

Staff of Worms - 89 Dolmens
    Ul'vor Staff - 76 Abyssal Geysers
Trueflame - 1 fish (yes, one singular)
Barbas Helmet - 96 Vvardenfell boss kills
Sunna'rah - 184 Vvardenfell boss kills AFTER looting Barbas, so a total of 280 kills.

Minimum waiting time between Vvardenfell bosses came to 23.3 hours. At least with the dolmens and the geysers, I could let the zerg do the majority of the heavy lifting and just get the chest at the end. And of course the extremely fortunate Trueflame drop - heard stories of this one peaking at ~250 fishes.

Never give up, you have another two weeks to get them!

I think something in the RNG gets stuck and fails to update something.

Example: I open a bunch of jubilee boxes and sometimes I get a run with nothing but run of the mill crafting materials and then sometimes I get gold items in every box. I even got two pages but guess what, the second page was the same as the first.

(think rolling a 1D20 and needing a 9 but you roll a 6 and you get stuck with that for next 9 turns and then you roll a 12 and get stuck with that for the next 6 turns.)

I finally got the Summerset staff drop after something like 50-ish geysers. The only thing that made it worthwhile was that I wanted to level up a character at the same time. The drops are so low, though, that I haven't had time to do anything else.

I have zero motive to farm for any more style pages now that my character's maxed.

fishing- trueflame sword - dropped under 20 nodes - around 45 mins - i ve heard this has a higher drop rate than the rest- and its held for me...
dolmen - worm staff - day 3 of about an hour each day - nothing. having joined a bunch of groups and having group loot= id say 2 drop every hour or so for the group on average... havent been lucky yet
summerset geysers - 1 hour - nothing so far....

Yeah, toons that need Fighter's Guild from the dolmens in particular are a good idea since you only need the participation credit for a chance at the page.

    Also don't forget your companions:

Bastian - killing the worm cultists at the start of the dolmen

I agree, but when you have to optimize your time in such a way, that means you're doing a chore and not playing a video game that is supposed to be entertaining at least. Might as well do something else instead.
