[Jubilee Event] - Drop rates are a joke

Started farming staff on Monday on geysers, finished about 3 hours ago. You also can drop. Just believe.

Generally, for people who spend up to 3 hours in ESO daily, this can be painful.

RNG or no RNG... I think it rather odd that after farming so much I managed to get 3 drops of the motifs, but now i cant get any at all. Seems bugged somewhere down the line to me. I think that the drop rate gets lower and lower the more motifs you have. It got progessivly harder to get a drop for me. My first one took awhile, the second one took a long time, and my thrid took a day and a half, and now im not getting any drops at all.

This is not about ‘entitlement’ or other buzz words to throw about - it’s about the whole concept being a terrible idea.

Seems to be the new normal with ESO, where they add something new that everyone is going to want to have, but absolutely bottle the execution/implementation. I got all 5 style pages after a lot of unnecessary grinding, and it made me realize that I just don't care anymore. I've since loaded up and played a handful of other games that I've been missing out on because I've been playing ESO.

That's a bit sad. I think the minute people started complaining literally en masse about the drop rates, they should have responded with something. Either tweaking the drop rates or maybe announcing that the pages will be purchasable with tickets after the event. Or really anything.

I feel like people would be more understanding if they came out and said that the drop rates were in error, rather than the product of cold calculation in order to get people to play more, regardless of how mindnumbingly dumb the grind was going to be.

I would be more understanding if they even just gave a /lurk so I knew someone had even read it. Responding to every individual is never going to be something that ZOS could achieve, I would not consider that a reasonable expectation. Some form of acknowledgement is what I feel is sorely missing in general here.

No official response whatsoever makes me feel unheard and unappreciated.

I cant speak for everyone but I was not complaining, I was giving feedback. Feedback on their livelihood in a bid that it improves. Every time I check to see how "old" some of my characters are, I lament over the sheer volume of hours I have spent at this game and then I tell myself how good value for money that has been.
I have enjoyed the vast majority of that time, I have met life long friends and am proud of some of the achievements I have obtained in game but I am not proud of any of the time I have put into grinding in this event. All it made me do was shut off ESO to go play something else which doesn't feel like it is taking my time for granted.

These motifs should have been a drop chance from **every** Jubilee box. Yes, it's still a grind, but you can do what you want to then. It is always annoying when these things are locked behind very specific activities. **Especially* ones where only a small subset of the players participating will even qualify for a box at all. I simply cannot understand how anyone thought this would be acceptable to the players

People don't seem to realize but they announced that these style page drop "with some chance" or "a bit of luck", and - apart from the "very rare possibility" for the item that seems to drop most often (Trueflame), these item are rather extremely rare - at least when I read the German site of the announcement

I wonder if this announcement had been a sort of Fool's April prank that they forgot to reveal at the end of April 1st...

    EDIT:
They now have changed the announcement and say that there is a "minor chance". At least they have, after more than a week changed that.

Still, I wonder how they explain that Trueflame apparantly has a significant different realized drop rate than the other items despite all items being qualified as having a "minor chance" of drop according to the new wording.

Anyhow, I've stopped farming them. It is a bit sad, because I really wanted to have the worm staff above all other items and that is the item I will miss out. Well, they can keep it to themselves. It is for sure another brick into my growing disengagement with the game.

    Coming back for an update:

    - I found the fishing style on like my third node.

    - It took roughly 18 combined hours of camping to get both Vvardenfell boss styles.

    - I've lost track of time and numbers farming dolmens, but I've definitely done at least three digits of dolmens and gained 8 CP in the last two days from the dolmen grind, and nothing yet.

    - I made one brief, fruitless attempt at geysers and left due to the massive crowd on the screen making me motion sick.

ZOS did not consider the effect of this RNG crap on players at all. These skins should have been part of a defined event or achievement or even just bought for tickets, not RNG drops just to keep players busy.

I feel like it's always one extreme or the other when it comes to loot. You either get it super easily or it will take tens of hours.
And please let people do what they want with their loot, especially if it's only a style page or a skin. This should be a part of your "Play however you want" philosophy.

“Play however you want” unless we don’t like & then we’ll nerf or disable it 😂

Very much yes for all of this! All I wanted was the staves (this was when the event started and I was naive enough to think I'd have time for all three). What I got was burned out after trying to get just *one* and now I won't even have that. What a sad event.

Last I heard, a dev described this as just a “playwall.” If something were going to be done about it in time for this event, I think we would have had some acknowledgment by now.

But they aren't in error and are in the cold calculus of using artificial scarcity to drive player FOMO.

Reading the many discussions about RNG & drop rates in this celebratory event is rather depressing.

An old blues song keeps running through my head: "If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have no luck at all" (Albert King).

"Born Under A Bad Sign" is indeed a badass song and album. You have excellent taste in music. :)B)

The RNG of this event is truly abysmal.

The drop rates are said to be very rare, so I think it should be kind of expected for the items to be very rare. It is the only thing that is given.

Now I gotta say I hate every form of limited time stuff and I would prefer if they just kept those drops in the game, since randomly finding rare stuff is fun.

But still I think FOMO is entirely on us the players and entirely avoidable. You don't need to have everything, and if you have a miserable time grinding the event for dozens of hours, why not just.. don't do it and have fun with other anniversary stuff? Since the rest is pretty rewarding and varied, I think the boxes drop from more activities since the last time I played it.

I can only take myself as an example, but I wouldn't want to be found dead grinding the same thing in a game for that long, no matter how nice the reward is. Since I know that if I did that, I wouldn't want to play ESO again for like a year, and why would I do that to myself with a game I like?
