Hey all, one of my good friends Faso just uploaded an in depth guide for his Magicka Sorcerer build in the upcoming Homestead Patch. Wanted to link it for all you Sorcerers to see his style and how he plays!

You need to adjust the compression on your voice. It's really difficult to listen to your voice constantly coming in and out.

You are sort of right, but I don't think you realize he didn't upload this claiming it was his he uploaded due to people wanting to know the gear he was running; and hence giving full credit to Malcolm almost entirely, though they do things differently in some aspects. As for Malcolm being a lowly EU Sorc,you should realize he is one of the best players over at EU regardless of class.

Basing someone's ability to theorycraft over one video is quite silly, as Faso has many builds he uses with the central technique being dark conversion. he used this GENERAL build as a platform for the idea of how sorcerer should be played, going into more detail on alternative options would result in a very very long and drawn out video. I believe this video was made to help out new players and sorcs needing a better build, he didn't hide anything and hopefully people can see how he plays the way he does.

We respect your opinion though and thanks for the feedback.

iv always wanted to try the 2 piece skeleton buff set. might try it out. infernal guardian is really nice but im getting bored with it.

It will be much better than infernal next patch infernal doesn't crit and it will no longer take Nightblades out of stealth

Malcom is one of the best sorcs EU and does a lot for the community

hahaha 1400 impen, shield based defenses? lol need full out 7p impen plus transmutation proc plus at least 30 cp into crit resist to have best defenses possible and most chance to stay alive. shields regardless of power will melt to enemy damage.

Shields aren't affected by impen so while I believe impen is important for when shields are inevitably down, I think the rest of that is overkill. A lot of the gameplay he has on his channel shows how defensive mechanisms work within Sorc and this build

Malcolm has been known to be one of the very top magsorcs in EU for years, you lowely NA guys confuse youtube fame with skillz a lot.

if you wanna min/max, you should really either use poisons on the mainbar, or you change to 4/3 spinner with master backbar. with a glyph, you get about the same average spell damage on your front bat, with an extra magicka bonus on either bar. i wouldn't use a maelstrom staff without using a poison, these days.

that said, pone pirate + high sustain is always very nice for open world 1vX. personally, personally, I don't feel I need this much stam recovery and thus I prefer the good old 2 + 5/4 + 4/5 with lich backbar and damage-set frontbar and using tripots - but whatever suits a playstyle.

One thing to add:

Get unchained when using shuffle or just for dark conversion in genera edit: L (this special case gets even buffed next patch - 5s time to cast 200 cost dark conversion after breaking free).
Well worth it - if used correctly lets you switch serpent for thief mundus easily.

@Joy_Division it´s great isn´t it? With the next patch builds like this might become outdated though because with the balance shifting back towards magica builds in general having high maxmagica builds + harness becomes insanely beneficial (well more than it already is).

On a ~44k magica template with 5-1-1 harness will reach the breaking point for returning enough magica to make both shields (harness + hardened) free to cast.
Going for more light armor pieces or more magica makes shieldstacking a net magica gain when attacked.

Just want to stop to add, I believe Pirate 2pc will be BiS for mag sorc next patch by a wide margin. Only slimecraw is really worth consideration imo, but since sorcs can build burst easily enough I still think pirate king is gonna be superior.
