Yeah but we had an almost full raid attack EP at Drakelowe back when we only had tri-keeps + Brindle and DC had 5/6 Emp keeps... every faction does stupid stuff.

So when are people just going to quit doing stupid things?! This cycle is really idiotic. AD- Were doing it to you because you did it to us, EP- Were doing it to you because you did it to us, DC- were doing it to you because you did it to us....

Jesus people, just stop doing stupid ****! I haven't been to a gate outside a scroll run in months. I haven't been part of a home keep battle that didn't have a scroll there.

People have a choice to stop this cycle, lets all stop acting like scorned teenagers and get organized with better tactics!

Time difference aside as suggested by the stamp of @mutagem ‘s post, I believe there is a bit of an apples and oranges comparison going on here.

Drakelowe was my call. The “almost full raid” was a rather recent occurrence with friends starting to log on. I do not think the band was entirely together, but I could be wrong as it was kind of a long day. All I am going to say about the decision here is that there was no mindless ‘because we can’ mentality.

For those looking outside-in, agree to disagree on whether the action was ‘stupid’. Anyone in groups I drive or with which I participate will tell you that I am open about reasoning if asked and purpose driven.

Thanks teammates and see you out there.

I don't blame anybody for sieging dumb objectives, sometimes that's more fun than trying to fight off the Zergs (i.e. why all three factions show up to Alessia bridge every single day). And as far as Zergs go DC has the much more competent ones, pop-locked DC is hell of a lot scarier than AD.

Even pop-locked AD is very nearly a 50/50 tussle, it's why they drop score every night once all the populations dip to 2 bars and below.

That decision and action wasn't stupid, at all; in no way.

This week hadn't been like the previous 3 weeks. DC was targeting AD, not EP. (Not in some "team purple" conspiracy; just in general).

There were 8 of us from RoB; and only 4-5 for much of the day. Firebeard's group of 4 joined us, and the rest were new players to AZ, that we were training. No joke... there were players who didn't know how to slot ballistas.

DC had EVERYONE at our triangle. Earlier, we tried 5-10 times to hit Roe and Allessia, only to be met by 3 groups each time; maybe a total of 40-50 players. Jayone, Betsy, Sub, Nihang and Hero, along with their related groups, as well as folks from Deltia's guild there?

Do you think we stood a chance of taking ROE? With people who were seiging walls with meat catapults?? Against 50+ DC?

    We attempted BRK and wiped.
    We attempted Chal and wiped.
    We attempted Brindle and wiped.
We took Nickel... for about 4 minutes.
We had zergs of EP hitting Cropsford, before flanking us at Fare and fighting there for an hour.

Hell, we needed a break. Noobs were embarrassed and dying, then quitting.
Albie made the correct decision to bolt, and not be sucked into a farm at Fare.

This, after DC had been at 3 bars and/or poplock for 16 hours, let alone the poplocked oceanic guild of 90+ starting at 4am yesterday morning.

If I remember correctly, the only thing we successfully held onto was Sejanus; not to farm, but to take a breather.

Albie made the right call. And very few decisions in AZ, when you're trying to train and motivate folks, while dealing with comms, are the "wrong" decision.

As for EP: Why they chose to farm Vlasterus and Cropsford, instead of hitting Roe or Chal, might be because they knew what we know. That is, sometimes you need to regroup and defend; then attempt to slay one dragon at a time... like we did at Drakelowe... before we wiped there, too.

Actually this is what happened @Mutagem, EP went to the gate to do their normal AP farm and when no AD were there because we were sieging Alessia, they had no choice but to leave their normal tower farm to flank AD trying to take back our home keep.....

They are just like the slaughterfish, they'll go where they see people to feed on even though it's not the best tactical move for their faction. They are really no different than anyone in the game just trying to get AP. It's more about that individual needs than the Faction. Unfortunately there will always be people like this.

The oceanic zerg is almost solely responsible for DC winning this campaign. They wiped the overnight map for 28 consecutive days (a record).

And with AD getting worn out from it, let alone having to face Deltia's and other groups, surrounded by poplocked forces for 16-18 hours a day, I think the server is dying. Some EP friends have said the same thing; with their only push now, for 2nd place, since DC is spitefully (maybe rightfully) avoiding EP and focusing on AD.

The 2-3 groups/guilds of AD (that I talk to) didn't want to keep the cycle going of "wiping and then being wiped," because that only makes it worse.

    So they've left AZ.

And the rest of us most likely will, too, after this campaign.

Remember when Axe died? See how most DC avoid BWB now? You want THAT here? You're about to get it.

Even this past week, before I jumped into TF, some DC friends were telling me that there "were no good fights happening."
Well... that's because there's hardly any high-level AD left in AZ.

Is the AP really worth it, in the end...?

This is not a chest pounding post even if it sounds like it. It's more to point out the lack of good AD guilds on this server. TM hasn't run a group all week during primetime as far as I'm aware. I've been on every night and the most we had in a group at once was 4. When TM is on with a normal group things happen.

We try to take the pressure off the AD home keep camping by hitting the enemies back lines. This allows the big AD groups and pugs to get something done around our home keeps. With out this it seems AD's pugs and zone groups and maybe even some guilds are content poking away at our home keeps that have THE ZERG, i.e. all the dc pugs, and the good players holed up trying to make the APzzzz. reference sumopwr's post.

I hate to break it to you but without splitting them up and throwing them off guard its going to be hard to break that barrier.

I've seen nickel taken multiple times this week in primetime only to see it retaken with little to no defense. There should be a decent contingent there giving dc holy h e l l when they try to take it so the big swarm of AD can take roe, or whatever else.

One last question. When AD breaches inner and then stands outside without pushing in, what is the end game? The longer you putz around outside the inner breach, the more reinforcements there will be, the more time for a good small man to organize the perfect wipe from the back on the unsuspecting plebs.

I know there are 20-24 man/woman pug groups here. It should not take 30 minutes to seige an outer and inner.

If TM is taking something with a 12 man group, we have 20 siege or close to it and it gets done. The less time the enemy has to react, the better your chances of turning the tide of the map.

Don't get discouraged by the big DC population...Get Better.

There's no one leading those groups. RoB has tried picking up pugs, but even when making a full raid, only 2-3 of them are on TS, so training them is hard. You see the zone chat, as well as I do... it's just a hard sell to get people to listen.

On a tactics note: DC has groups like Deltia's or CB, that come in and clear out walls on the inner, after AD breaches. TM doesn't do that. TM works alone, mostly, as a separate (almost mercenary) entity. CareBears don't play on other factions, either; they're a DC-only group. And they roll into a theater, in support of an attack.

TM hitting Bleakers (for example) doesn't really do much of anything for AD, in terms of support or easing pressure. It is, what it is; It's a farm.

And when TM farms Bleakers, you're not facing 50+ DC, and certainly not the elite DC players, because they simply won't get farmed.

TM should (or should have) worked alongside the rest of AD, in support of one of the phases of a keep assault, and not split up our force(s).

And.... I'm confident that a majority of the veteran DC players would tell you that it was the farming by TM that set them off, into a rage against our other smaller groups. WE paid the price for the actions of TM.

Don't take that as a knock, if you can avoid it. I'm not angry, personally. But, that's what I heard from most of my DC friends.
    Micah123 wrote: »

I ran alongside Kartalin the other day at Fare, when DC was serging it. I think you were there, too. And it was great to see a few members of TM there. But... it was impossible to move, until DC left. THAT, my friend, is what "WE" deal with nightly, now that most, if not all, of the main AD guilds have left AZ.

It's not a case of "get better." That's inherent; everyone aims for that as a goal. It's a case of ALL of AD coordinating with what few experienced AD players are left here, as well as the hordes of ungrouped.

i just don't see stacking good groups inside the horde as the best way to progress the ad pop in azuras. Don't take what I say as what TM thinks, because I'm just a pleb in their ranks.

So you had multiple top level DC tell you they were mad that we farmed them (or their pugs) at bleakers? I'll leave this alone.

Krotha logs on and goes straight to bloodmayne, to farm pugs.

Farming happens and it takes the people being farmed away from doing logical things for their alliance.

Leaving azuras will not help these people. they will run into the same issues except have more lag which makes everything worse.
