Generally something this big would be a gradual development from a smaller sort of trading addon yes - a gradual progression - or perhaps a collaboration between other well known addon makers.
Everyone starts somewhere with making this sort of thing and if there is no obvious history of development then such a very ambitious project seems an unusual place to begin.
Khajiit would like to be wrong about this - most certainly - but this one she just cannot shake that suspicious tingling in the ends of the whiskers.

Yep, Spider sense is tingling away at this, it set off my Anti Virus straight away. I Guess the big question is, has anyone actually used it? Or does anyone want to give it a go with me? Finger firmly on the plug.
So you want to rebuild your pc after running it in case you realize at some point some weird behavior?
Bad news here: If it is actually malware, shutting down the PC won't help. If you realize something is wrong, your files may already be (partially) encrypted or "stolen" (e.g. passwords).
You would have to rebuild your system from scratch, hopping that the malware didn't go for any firmware components as it would be pretty persistent in such a case (I doubt that this would happen as that would be quite a bit sophisticated). So you would have to throw the hardware away in the worst case...
The malware might be persistent, so plugging your system off / shutting it down, won't help that much, depending on what the malware does.
In addition, the malware might be controlled and expose it's malicious functionality at a later point of time.
So the point here is, if it is malware, you're pretty much ***. But anyway, please share your experience with us if you test it
Luckily for me I happen to work for https://www.forbes.com/companies/atos/
I have asked some techs on my site to scan this over and let me know what they think of it, they work on security where if something is compromised it can go...Nuclear..is all I can say.
Will update.
how do they scan this over and with which tools. as I've mentioned earlier... AV software in general is crap if it is a new thread, a mutation etc. And I doubt your IT guys will disassemble / reverse engineer this binary as it might take a lot of time.
So feel free to provide as much details as possible.

I personally never see the need for addons or mods in any games I play, they're fine the way they are for me.However, even if I did, I would never under any circumstances download them from untrusted sites, nor would I in respect of any situation download an executable file from an unknown and untrusted party - not even if he assured me he was legit!
Moreover, even if I did feel the need for addons I'd avoid them as apart from the security issues they are also likely to be responsible for at least some of the disconnections, lag and other performance issues that other people complain about but which I've never experienced at all in over 3 years of playing ESO. The trading ones in particular are said by some players to have been responsible for their lag which disappeared as soon as they removed the addons. And why wouldn't they, because the trading addons are having to keep track of extensive data changes the whole time.
I wonder how many of the players who dismiss the idea of an auction house because the servers couldn't handle the data and it's unnecessary if you use the trading addons are the same players complaining about lag and other performance issues? It would be interesting to see what happened to (a) performance and (b) confidence in the trading system if ZOS forcibly disabled all addons for a month.
I'd advise staying well clear of this particular addon no matter what assurances are given by someone unknown and untrusted, but in the meantime I wish ZOS would accept that the present trading system needs a lot of improvement for it to be considered fully workable for all players across all platforms.

Perhaps you could edit the thread title to tell people to remove the files?
Some may already have them and not scroll through to the end of the thread yes.

Still not ready to burn the witch, really seems like he went to a massive amount of effort to put thing together if it was going to be found out as dodgy. Maybe he'll come back and clear it all up yet.

Khajiit always hopes for the best even when suspecting the very worst.
Indeed a lot of effort was put into the description alone.
There is also though the possibility that the massive amount of effort actually had a different sort of end reward in mind than that which we first anticipated - one beneficial only to the creator and most detrimental to the user.

if it works the way security guys here are describing? the effort to make something dodgy might be worth it - for them. due to all the personal info/credit card info they would end up with

Pretty much this. I don't imagine wannacry was made overnight by some scrub in mom's basement. In short we have no clue who actually made this or their intent or the effect it will have. Is it worth it...No. it just plain is not.

Maybe not on fish and Ta. The more rare the item though and the easier it is for just three or four people to control the price.
