cheat engine exploiters should by no means be allowed to play ESO again even if they appeal it 100 times
and they should have been ban without lifting the ban at that time not because of this AP parties.

Good job you're not in charge of those choices then.

Also I had a nice chat with someone last night, I have to say all my faith in ZOS handling this has been lost once again. I think I am done fighting these battles, until ZOS ever gets a real security/GM team which can actually do the job correctly I don't know what else there is to say.

Well those names are inconsistent af and just replace 10^3n with some natural number. No matter what you call it its pretty clear whats meant. So putting it in k's always made the most sense to me.

EDIT: also kilo is still universally consistent in the most inportant western languages where as after million it gets inconsistent atleast between english and german.

I think it would have been awesome if ZOS took all the exploited AP gains and redistributed them to everyone that didnt exploit.

As this is the first time we've publicly taken mass action on accounts for this behavior, we've kept it to a three-day suspensions and removal of all AP from the top offenders.

So just to be clear, are the offenders keeping alliance ranks?

If so, I am disappointed, although I realize that might be difficult to roll back.

    Seems like that's the case.
AP removal is a start, but I worry what happened in the case where people cashed that out already into motifs etc.

Nothing happened in this case. They only lost AP they gained while expoilting, it wasn't reset to 0.

AP removal seems to be a joke, according to a banned player zos removed AP only on the first character on the char lists: so people who did AP swap with the second char on their char list... still have their AP. Confirmation ? @ZOS_JessicaFolsom

Rank removal would be the real thing

They shouldn't have done any bans to begin with. This whole thing in general was just handled in such a pathetic way by ZOS. They should've made a statement about it when it was going on, they didn't. People warned them more than enough, they didn't care. And now when all is said and done, they just ban some people as a show of power.

The bans were RNG, there are more than enough people who farmed many millions of AP and didn't get banned.
AP removal was RNG, some people got their AP removed from one character, some from every character, and some from none.

    Absolutely pathetic.

Agreed. Whilst it was handled in a weird way bans themselves (even temps as we had here) are a good way to show ZOS isn't going to be so laid back.

I hope they continue with this and act a little faster in future to denounce the activities.

I wholeheartedly agree with @Dymence here.

ZoS handled it absolutely horrendously. They have been warned long before the event that exactly this would happen. They could of easily stated before the event, that this was against the ToS and we would of had no problems.

The funny fact is, that AP farming has gone on since launch and they have never done anything about it.

They have been inconsistent with their communication on what is and isn't allowed in the game.
They have been inconsistent with who they banned/suspended and why/when they got penalized.

Now you guys are surprised they were inconsistent with how much AP they removed from the different accounts.

It will have long lasting effects... in terms of driving players away from the game. Noone wants to play in an environment where the developer can arbitrarily punish you for messing around a bit and having fun... simply because it MIGHT be considered exploiting some time later, or even much later. Just because they can, and because they were too lazy to simply say it when it was required and asked for.

How about banning people now or next year for using multiple mundus in 2015 ?

I understand that. But what ZOS did doesn't prevent that. What should be done is 1/ clearly state the rule 2/ warn 3/ punish.
Step 1&2 can be done in one go, right when the wave of debatable behaviour starts to spread.
I have nothing against step 3 if preceeded by 1 and 2 in a timely manner. But doing step 3 without having done 1 and 2, and doing it months later, is just plain rubbish.

Well I'm quite sure the banned ones will not take the risk to swap ap again with their accounts risking definitive ban. So it does not matter if the previous communication was proper or not: the effect if there.

Actually @prootch, I don't think there is any effect, because ZoS is so inconsistent with their banning policies. They only did this because of the public outcry and it smells like a one time thing. AP swapping will continue on a much smaller scale and nobody will be banned for it (like it always has).

Many players have been using multiple mundus and other exploits forever and ZoS never did anything about it. You can report the guys 50 times (same with bots btw) and nothing will happen, because there is no public outcry.

Then you used the broken gapclose mechanics and get a perma ban for it... you get the gist .. total inconsistency.

Obviously I am just speculating here. Maybe they will start actually punishing the real exploiters, not just people that afked at an outpost.
    Valencer wrote: »

Exactly this is why we need clear communication and consistency from ZoS, what is considered an offence for the future. Why is Keep flipping for AP a banable offence but running around with multiple mundus stones acceptable for months? The one is pure cosmetic (rank) and the other is actually gamebreaking.

Don't get me wrong, I don't disagree with the fact that keep flipping is wrong. It is just very hypocritical how ZoS handled the whole thing.
