This and no company would bring servers down to them its a $$ loss, either they fix this by DLC release (Which is unlikely) or they continue along this path and face reality that less and less ppl will play or even tolerate it.

Its a $$ loss having no community too P:
The real question is: Can it be fixed fast?
InvitationNotFound wrote: »The real question is: Can it be fixed fast?
hey my swiss friend. the answer is very likely no.
the server would have to check all actions sent from the client -> more server load. do you think the servers can handle more at the moment? pvp lag when only 10 players are in cyro?
a client side cheat prevention will only make these cheats more difficult to achieve and more time consuming to implement, but every thing on the client can be manipulated. of course, the author of the tool has to know what he's doing and needs certain skills.
So this leads to the OP: So you don't want to play the game at all for the next few years?
Edit: Oh and btw. anyone want to bet if the bans for the cheaters will be longer than 3 days?;) I doubt it.

Zenimax bans people?
Just no. I can't help but feel there is a bit too much over-reacting going on. I am sure some players are more affected by this than me, but surely most players weren't vying for a spot on the leader boards, or could do something other than pvp.
Clearly the hacking is a problem, but it's not a problem directly affecting a large proportion of the player base. Obviously it will be addressed in time, but it is a bank holiday weekend so I hope most ZOS staff are off doing something awesome.
Let's not panic, in a couple of weeks this will be over and no-one will think of it as more than a funny event in the history of the game. (Hack wars book one).

Well ZOS has a double edge sword to deal with one side they have the legal issues if they say something and the other you have people who want proof but can't because that will involve revealing names.

The hacking will not be fixed anytime soon and the hacking can be done by anyone, undetectable for ZOS. There's a good chance the hacking has been going on for ages already, since ZOS never really put a stop to it.Just no. I can't help but feel there is a bit too much over-reacting going on. Sounds line something a hacker would say.
In all seriousness, this is pretty game breaking for pretty much everyone. This is exposing holes in ZOS's client work which could lead ball to bits and other bs.
It's a serious issue for those who are affected by it, but it's not "pretty game breaking for pretty much everyone".

So surely this is about keeping honest players honest, creating trust that we are on a level playing field, this needs fixing now but I doubt it will be.

Had a good laugh.in my opinion it's way worse than the crafting writs exploit and affects more people.
Every PVP player is f****d. Every competitive PVE player is *ucke*. And all the people that don't care or have no idea what's going aren't affected, right? Neither were they in previously mentioned crafting writs exploit, so i guess the amount of affected players is higher this time.

Except that it doesn't affect every server, so not every PvP or competitive PvE player is affected. I don't doubt it's an important thing for those who are affected, but it isn't game-breaking for everyone, it really isn't.

Depends (and yes, my statement as well as yours are just opinions and not facts). I consider the writs exploit not as a big issue and the hotfix wasn't necessary (they had their "data" about the exploiters. unfortunately, they weren't consequent with banning the players). I still think that this cheat affects more players (even if only PC PVP and competitive PVE players are affected) than the previous.
Anyway, I have another question at that point. I'm not familiar with consoles (yes, master race and things like that, you know...), so tell me, isn't it possible to cheat there? I mean is it possible to run arbitrary applications on them (e.g. similar to an iOS jailbreaked device)? If so, you would have there the exact same issue as well, besides chances are very low that currently no one is exploiting it.
