What is my idea of an anti-text post...is that a typo?
Let's assume you're asking what defines anti-voice chat.
A: Players who will utilize voice chat only if it's the only choice but otherwise want text chat and if added will default to text chat as this is their preferred method of in-game communication.
This also is a group who will party chat outside of the game but for in-game their primary method of cummunication is text chat.
This group also has those who play this game solo only and do not wish to talk to anyone via voice chat or text chat.
People who do not like or want to use voice chat or who often times say they feel forced to use voice chat because they would rather text chat primarily or all the time.
You're asking me to name and specifically identify ppl
That type of comment can fall into name shaming. Which happens to against the code of conduct...I have generalized because that is allowed in the code and I began sharing threads that involve conversations about ppl who are anti voice chat.
Secondly...naming or providing you with a list does nothing but throw those people under the rug for some thread they don't want to be a part of.
And again as I've wrote now a few times...please specify exactly what it is you're claiming that I can't back up.
The majority of my comments were from ESO live information...
How about this...to make it easy on you...cite what specific things I'm saying that are wrong and please feel free to cite proof.
I feel that I've provided information...real info from either the company or from in-game experiences and forum threads that support my opinions. I've also comments in that opinion with facts from Zenimax.
From you, all I see is an opinion based on a small group of other opinions where you're then claiming that that small sample size somehow is a majority and that's why your opinion should be addressed by Zenimax in this thread even tho it's been addressed a few times on ZOS live.

That is because we (most of us) feel adding back in text chat would be a benefit to the game as a whole, by making the in game community stronger, more "global". Yes additional UI enhancements would be nice, but if there isnt a strong community in game people are not going to stick around for long so its kinda moot.
Trust me I'll be with you asking for alot of the UI/QoL improvements I feel this game needs, but not until they put after they put back in text chat, till then what's the point?

Kudos to the Devs.
My first post!!!
Cheers!
Their already people being social able I hear the same thing I would probably have to read in text chat their players talking all the time. Also the only reason I used if was respond to the OP was to be sarcastic he more then likely will find a Guild and group to play with just because you can't doesn't mean he won't everyone Experience is different.People tall all the time and not all of it is bad OK here a example from a hour ago some of you might consider it spam but I consider it hurt warming and something you wouldn't get from text chat.
So I was at a crafting stationed in Waryrest X1 and this player had his mic on and out of no where his father just came and yelling at him and said every cursed word in the boom.Afterwards the player wasn't crying but he was down you can tell from his voice and the people around the crafting station started telling him its OK it be alright and out of no where this man he sounded around 40 started talking to him and he just told him his life story and that when he was young his father was the same way and he told him how he got through it.That thing was beautifully and not one person said anything about it and the kid thanked him.He could have just saved that boys life right their. That's something you would never get from Just a text box.
My example isn't a argument for not adding it but to show you guys not all of it is spam and people playing music.Their are actual conversation and bonds being forged. So please don't say all of it is spam some of it is real and have more players being social then you might think.

I love the ui as well. Minimal and easy its just awesome in my opinion. I run it minimal even in PvP.
Thanks for the post!
I think you deserve a fishy stick!
A second screen option is a non-option

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL i'm done. wow just wow. you really have no clue what you're talking about.
Next up we should charge people real money for Trading in the game, if they want to so badly, they'll pay for it.

Whoa. Hold up.
Second screen is clearly the middle ground solution and likely what zos was intending.
In no way did the poster claim to be dogmatically opposed to text chat, just a certain form of text chat.
I and many others agree that second screen is the BEST choice.

There are already sites for both LFG and Trading. However since they are not directly tied to the game, they reach a very limited scope. Text chat is zone based it reaches everyone in the area online at that time.

My experiences have been more similar to this one.
I really like the console community and I feel like some people are trying to have a bad time.
Yeah, it kinda does.
While the forums might only represent a minority in number of players, it doesn't there by default represent the minority opinion.

LOL are you serious? Didn't realize Tamriel was like America.

I thought that was a troll, suggestion post and probably fake.
But yeah if there's s third party app we can use for text chat and trading, I guess I would just buy and use that.

Hes actually telling me it's not an app, it's a website?!? He's on vacation in Florida, don't know if he's drank too much already. I've been looking but haven't found anything yet.
What do you even base this kind of conjecture on? Do you just pull it out of the air? There is no factual basis for it and no effort from you to actually show it to be the case.mrskinskull wrote: »Why aren't there more people here agreeing with you?
Because they aren't coming, won't bother with text chat and would be furious if they knew a splinter group of forum posters were trying to slow down development of actual dlc or patches or anything they could be doing to make new content with a sprawling demand post.

It seems you are saying that as long as the app has a link to a dedicated trade site, when everyone starts using the app for text chat , more traffic will hit the sites suggested by the app. Thus eliminating the need for a chat box on console.
The app would expand the trade sites scope and help interested parties to find it.

There are way to many things about no text chat popping up all over the web recently. Just have enter in google and its everywhere...
So its not only a few of us that want it, With out proper stats id go as far as guesstimate probably about 75% of the player base are OK with it or are all for it.
25% are probably casuals that would be fine once implemented, I bet everyone would use it tbh...
Yes even you NewBlacksmurf.
I'm still having a hard time understanding why you are so adamant at arguing with everyone on here about it.
You don't have to use it if its implemented (but I bet you will)
Why are you unable to comprehend this thread?
People have given plenty of reasons pro text chat, and alot of people only give negatives to the voice just look through this thread or google it..
quoted from first site googled....
""CONS
No chat box
Perhaps it’s because I am a PC gamer and have played so many MMOs, but the lack of a chatbox in the console version of the game seems a bit odd to me. With voice chat being integrated into the game, I can’t say that this is a deal-breaker for me, but I will certainly miss it.
Integrated voice chat
I included integrated voice chat as a pro for the game, but it’s also a con. My first experience with integrated voice chat was in APB, and it was horrendous. Proximity chat was full of children swearing and saying vile things to each other. Then in DC Universe Online, the proximity chat was super sensitive and didn’t function very well at all. I’m not totally against proximity chat because I think it could actually be helpful in some cases. I’m just really happy that we will be able to toggle it off.
As you can see, the major differences in the platforms come in the form of UI elements, which is an amazing feat when you consider how botched some other console ports have been. Although I can’t definitively say that you should buy one version over another, I hope that my list of pros and cons help you decide for yourself.""
GO and google and come back with anything against text chat that's legitimate.....
