That's great for you, but wait till you get up in the VR levels & you end up sitting around for hours & days on end trying to get groups for dungeons & craglorn quests with no luck. Then tell us how "great" the lack of text chat is ....

If he find s a good guild and group of friends slike alot of players have done since playing he won't have to wait hours.

IF, lol. That's the problem with this game. Too many If's Text Chat's will encourage people to be more social. This games biggest issue is that, ZoS refuses to fix this problem.

Their already people being social able I hear the same thing I would probably have to read in text chat their players talking all the time. Also the only reason I used if was respond to the OP was to be sarcastic he more then likely will find a Guild and group to play with just because you can't doesn't mean he won't everyone Experience is different.People tall all the time and not all of it is bad OK here a example from a hour ago some of you might consider it spam but I consider it hurt warming and something you wouldn't get from text chat.

So I was at a crafting stationed in Waryrest X1 and this player had his mic on and out of no where his father just came and yelling at him and said every cursed word in the boom.Afterwards the player wasn't crying but he was down you can tell from his voice and the people around the crafting station started telling him its OK it be alright and out of no where this man he sounded around 40 started talking to him and he just told him his life story and that when he was young his father was the same way and he told him how he got through it.That thing was beautifully and not one person said anything about it and the kid thanked him.He could have just saved that boys life right their. That's something you would never get from Just a text box.

My example isn't a argument for not adding it but to show you guys not all of it is spam and people playing music.Their are actual conversation and bonds being forged. So please don't say all of it is spam some of it is real and have more players being social then you might think.

True it's not all spam. The biggest issue however is that voice chat only is rather limiting. Particularly in regards to aspects which lead to a solid, well structured playerbase. Having options for both it and text chat would serve the community better. Passer-by socializing is easier via VOIP, but organizing guilds, trades, and groups is easier with text chat because it is further reaching.

Yes I would not as I said before I would be fine with text chat as a second screen option that way both sides can get what they want and the app could also have additional features that will improve the game for even PC players not just consoles players.

The point is to be able to communicate with anyone in game. not everyone will get a second screen app. Hence it is a non option.

So please don't say all of it is spam some of it is real and have more players being social then you might think.

so you would have no issue with additional options, right?
Yes I would not as I said before I would be fine with text chat as a second screen option that way both sides can get what they want and the app could also have additional features that will improve the game for even PC players not just consoles players.

what is wrong about an option to take down text chat? second screen just takes you out of the game

So let's say your at work and.your.doing nothing and.you check the app and.you se someone is sell burn cheap you can send them a message while.your offline. It'd a win.win in my opinion and would add more.to.the game then a text box.

    A second screen option is a non-option

Why is it a nine options it's the more likely and easier implemented solution.Their nothing wrong with it if it gives you what you want why is just r a none options.Their was a thread a while back where a player listed things that could be implemented just in a app for ESo it would be very useful and am sure a lot of players would use it.Also ZOS as a business would more likely choice that ok one person could make it and they could make it ,99¢ so they also make money and it doesn't take people away from making new content and bug fixing.

The point is to be able to communicate with anyone in game. not everyone will get a second screen app. Hence it is a non option.

Not everyone will use chat text either so either way you won't be talking to everyone.

How would a companion app help with reaching more people to trade with vs being able to stand in a zone advertising through text chat? How would the app help to manage a guild if all members do not have another device to run it on? How would it help with finding groups to run content, cause I can tell you it didn't help much for Destiny.

So please don't say all of it is spam some of it is real and have more players being social then you might think.

so you would have no issue with additional options, right?
Yes I would not as I said before I would be fine with text chat as a second screen option that way both sides can get what they want and the app could also have additional features that will improve the game for even PC players not just consoles players.

How would a companion app help with reaching more people to trade with vs being able to stand in a zone advertising through text chat? How would the app help to manage a guild if all members do not have another device to run it on? How would it help with finding groups to run content, cause I can tell you it didn't help much for Destiny.

Amazing how vicious this thread has become. I mean , this most likely will never see light of day as a feature. Being as ZoS hasn't said this would be considered , no point going at one anothers jugular. Even if it might be considered , its so far off no way way you see text chat in the next couple years anyways. The people fighting are just doing so over a non-point.

For us to have a "second screen" option on our phones through the PSN app like DCUO or FFXIV, would mean we would need to have a "first sceeen" to type onto. Can we please get support for a text chat box within the UI that can toggle "seen" or "hide" first? Then we'll worry about a "second screen" option.
.... I have to admit, the devs do listen to reason, if not to the forums. Thank you for "nameplates", a welcome addition to immersion, as well as the text chat box for PS4, which only comes on the screen when I need it too, and helps this gameplay SO MUCH MORE then without it. THANK YOU for the additions. Very much appreciated.

So please don't say all of it is spam some of it is real and have more players being social then you might think.

so you would have no issue with additional options, right?
Yes I would not as I said before I would be fine with text chat as a second screen option that way both sides can get what they want and the app could also have additional features that will improve the game for even PC players not just consoles players.

How would a companion app help with reaching more people to trade with vs being able to stand in a zone advertising through text chat? How would the app help to manage a guild if all members do not have another device to run it on? How would it help with finding groups to run content, cause I can tell you it didn't help much for Destiny.

The app would have a platform for players to post trades and LFG and anything else using different tabs for you to select and scroll through. All you would have to do I'd post in the corresponding tab with what you need at the time and you can get back to playing until someone sends you a message with whatever you need.Since it a a app made by ZOS they can have it work with In game mechanics so you can send a message to your guilds or change the message of the day to tell your guilds what's going on.

They can Also add a map and have the location of lorebooks and skyshards as well so searching for those would become easier.

That's great for you, but wait till you get up in the VR levels & you end up sitting around for hours & days on end trying to get groups for dungeons & craglorn quests with no luck. Then tell us how "great" the lack of text chat is ....

You realise if people want to use their phone to find a group they can just do it right now on a lfg msg board and same for trade.? It would solve nothing

For those wanting an ESO app, make your own thread. Like @Ace-2112 said, this is about in game text chat. That nonsense has no place here.

not really, if you want to look at multiple pages at once and have easy accessible tabs, phones are a lot more cumbersome then pc's.
