That's great for you, but wait till you get up in the VR levels & you end up sitting around for hours & days on end trying to get groups for dungeons & craglorn quests with no luck. Then tell us how "great" the lack of text chat is ....
If he find s a good guild and group of friends slike alot of players have done since playing he won't have to wait hours.
IF, lol. That's the problem with this game. Too many If's Text Chat's will encourage people to be more social. This games biggest issue is that, ZoS refuses to fix this problem.
Their already people being social able I hear the same thing I would probably have to read in text chat their players talking all the time. Also the only reason I used if was respond to the OP was to be sarcastic he more then likely will find a Guild and group to play with just because you can't doesn't mean he won't everyone Experience is different.People tall all the time and not all of it is bad OK here a example from a hour ago some of you might consider it spam but I consider it hurt warming and something you wouldn't get from text chat.
So I was at a crafting stationed in Waryrest X1 and this player had his mic on and out of no where his father just came and yelling at him and said every cursed word in the boom.Afterwards the player wasn't crying but he was down you can tell from his voice and the people around the crafting station started telling him its OK it be alright and out of no where this man he sounded around 40 started talking to him and he just told him his life story and that when he was young his father was the same way and he told him how he got through it.That thing was beautifully and not one person said anything about it and the kid thanked him.He could have just saved that boys life right their. That's something you would never get from Just a text box.
My example isn't a argument for not adding it but to show you guys not all of it is spam and people playing music.Their are actual conversation and bonds being forged. So please don't say all of it is spam some of it is real and have more players being social then you might think.
so you would have no issue with additional options, right?
How would a companion app help with reaching more people to trade with vs being able to stand in a zone advertising through text chat? How would the app help to manage a guild if all members do not have another device to run it on? How would it help with finding groups to run content, cause I can tell you it didn't help much for Destiny.
The app would have a platform for players to post trades and LFG and anything else using different tabs for you to select and scroll through. All you would have to do I'd post in the corresponding tab with what you need at the time and you can get back to playing until someone sends you a message with whatever you need.Since it a a app made by ZOS they can have it work with In game mechanics so you can send a message to your guilds or change the message of the day to tell your guilds what's going on.
They can Also add a map and have the location of lorebooks and skyshards as well so searching for those would become easier.
You realise if people want to use their phone to find a group they can just do it right now on a lfg msg board and same for trade.? It would solve nothing
And also easily accessable from phones;
Google.
UESP
the TES wiki
Tamriel Foundry
Youtube
numerous tips and guides pages
you know what, I shoulda stopped with google....
not really, if you want to look at multiple pages at once and have easy accessible tabs, phones are a lot more cumbersome then pc's.
Yes I would not as I said before I would be fine with text chat as a second screen option that way both sides can get what they want and the app could also have additional features that will improve the game for even PC players not just consoles players.AaronLannister wrote: »Mirra_Halfelven wrote: »Kleptobrainiac wrote: »I'm new to this game but am a long time mmo player and just wanted to jump in & say that personally I'm really enjoying the minimal UI & lack of text chat. Can people Please try to get back "on topic".
This is the "last standing" thread about console textchat.
If "they" lock it for going off-topic "we" may not be allowed to start another one...like...ever.

Dude, this thread is about InGame TextChat for Consoles.
If you want to lobby/beg for an ESO App...please post your own thread.
Thank you.
No, its one side getting what they want and telling the other that it would solve their issue.
I never said it would solve everything all I said was ok t would give both sides what they want without either said not getting what they want .
Their not going to add text chat so sorry for giving a alternative that you all can use.I do have to ask this how long will you all stay of they don't respond in a month or even 2?

One of the topics we frequently get feedback on is ESO’s Veteran content. Some of you may have seen our recent comments about changes we have in store for ESO’s post-50 experience. We want you to know we’ve been listening to your suggestions and concerns, but more importantly, we want to tell you what we’re doing about them. Today, we have an update from the ESO Dev Team to share with you.
Some of the concerns you’ve called out are: Veteran content is too much of a departure from the level 1 to 50 experience, playing and leveling through it is too much of a grind, and that the rewards you get don’t match the effort you have to put in to progress.
One of the guiding principles of our Veteran gameplay was to encourage you (not force you) to group. We wanted you to be able to reach max level by playing solo if you wished, but still encourage you to group with others along the way. This principle was the reason we made our post-50 zones more difficult; we wanted you to get together with others to take on tougher challenges and form social bonds while you did so. But we understand that, despite our vision, this is not how all our players want to experience the game beyond level 50.
We recognize that many of you love the game you played while leveling up, and that you feel the post-50 zones are too much of a departure from that experience. We hear your requests to continue participating in solo content as you progress through Veteran Ranks, and we’re acting on that feedback.
Starting next week on Monday, July 7th, you’ll see the first significant change we’re making to the Veteran System. We’re implementing some balance changes to content in post-50 zones that will make it much more like the content from levels 1-50. Our goal is to remove the feeling of “I have just hit a wall of difficulty” that many of you have expressed—you’ll be able to solo much more easily. This is just the first of many large-scale changes coming to ESO’s Veteran System, and we encourage you to watch our QuakeCon panel on Friday, July 17th, where we’ll go into much more detail about the other parts.
Thank you for sticking with us, sharing your concerns, and supporting a game we all love.

No developer of any game has ever changed their mind and implemented something based on player feedback. Nope. Never.

Not when the majority is fine using the system in place and a minority of players what to change it they don't.

Remeber, the veteran zones used to be designed to encourage grouping and enforcing the knowledge of game mechanics.
well, guess what happened?ZOS_JessicaFolsom wrote: »Hi everyone,

Well right now their one side getting what they want and telling the other side to deal with it.My idea would a allow both sides to have what they want how is that a problem if you get text chat in the end just because it's not how you would like you would still have it.
I have a question what will you all do if Zos have a vote that made it so.all console.player would have to vote on.the issue or not get into the game and the majority voted to only have voice chat then what will you all say and do?

Why are all the anti text kids so ignorant about the community and game in general?
There was a poll that you can still view which lasted about 12 hrs before being locked. Over 100 people voted with 93% in favor of text.

That poll is unusable since the voting poll was tainted with PC players. So to get a accurate number on who want it or.not.they will have to ask the console community.Mighty_oakk wrote: »Their not going to add text chat so sorry for giving a alternative that you all can use.I do have to ask this how long will you all stay of they don't respond in a month or even 2?
