I feel sorry for the Mods in this game, but seriously, we have exploiters coming to their forums to admit they exploit and are proud of it...

How can we keep any faith on ZOS if they do nothing about this or change their positions on what is considered cheating in this game?

I don't. Not one tiny little bit. They could have handled this issue very differently. Now they've made their bed, and can lie in that filth forever as far as I'm concerned.

Let's keep it civil here. No need to fall to another person's level.
Welcome back @ZOS_GinaBruno . I hope we will get some response from you or the other guys tagged in above post. Just a confirmation on whether or not it's an exploit would probably be enough for us at this point. At the very least, it'll be better than the silence. Thank you!

Hey everyone, just a small update. With today's PC/Mac incremental patch, we rolled out some additional anti-cheat measures, with more to come. We'd like to take this opportunity to remind everyone once again that cheating in ESO is grounds for a permanent ban.

People are still cheating and using hacks in cyrodiil. The people that were banned and let back in game are still cheating. Why the fu#@ are you "ZOStudios" letting these people back?

Just curious but what proof do you have people are cheating?

I thought the point was that most people use lower levels of the CE so that they're not as noticeable. The only people who have been noticeable of abuse were those that turned it up to 11.

People kind of gave up providing proof due to lack of faith in Zenimax handling the situation. We just want Zenimax to actually jump into their game and see these people cheating and exploiting is all.

    Absolutely this^^^^^

I spent several hours in Cryodiil this weekend and saw rampant, shameless cheating. When someone is circled and getting beat on by 6 opposing players and their health never goes down one tick - they are cheating. I have the video to prove it but there is no point in sending it in because nothing will be done.

...and now I read that botters are back(?) This game has lost all credibility. Breaks my heart

Thanks for the update Jessica, however I need to be a cynic here and say... we need something more than this.

It's been a rough couple of months on the cheating/exploiting front and we really are not getting much back other than the periodic updates that something has been updated and cheating is bad don't do it.

As others have said there are a lot of issues which are not directly related to 3rd party programs which are causing problems right now and we need some clear information from yourselves on what's happening with it and if it is exploiting or not.

Otherwise I am still kind of hoping for some kind of longer news article about what's been happening, what you've been doing behind the scenes (no details on how people are caught but just generally the policies etc) from Matt to show that this really is something the senior people at ZOS are taking seriously.

I think they could write it in letters 10 miles high on the moon and certain players will still claim that their cheating is a grey area... evidence of the mods views and the TOS has been offered time and again but those who want to cheat will just find a way to claim it doesn't count and will still whine when they get banned for doing the things they have been told are cheating.... just read this thread for ample evidence...

BUT it would be nice to have a pinned announcement thread with a list of known bugs and whether they count as exploits or not and what they penalty for using them would be. Like...

Gap closers can allow entry to keep - evidence of anything other than accidental use of this in PvP will result in a week ban for first offence rising to permaban if used multiple times.

Maces are bugged and give too much penetration - since it would be unrealistic to expect no-one to use a whole weapon type until this is fixed have at it.

Cheats & Exploits don't spoil in game atmosphere. They destroy it.

    yes, i agree with this

    speedhack destroying game atmosphere
too big damage or endless ultimate from CE destroying it also

but not a magic jump, on the same distance like in tooltip of the skill, but just in other direction(on the wall)

    i prooved why

if you not getting it - you have serious problems with logic

Where I come from we call this justification "polishing a turd". You are cheating and you are bragging about it. The golden rule of ethical behavior states "just because something can be done, does not mean it should be done".

    You should be ashamed.

For those who didn't see the reply in the other thread.
    Hey everyone,

We are working on making some tweaks to certain gap closers that players are using to bypass core keep capture mechanics. It is not intended that gap closers be used to enter keeps without downing doors and/or walls, or enter areas you otherwise would not be able to without exploiting (below Dolmens, under water, etc.) While we are aware that players are using certain gap closers to do exactly these things, we do considered this behavior an exploit.

If you see another player exploiting in this manner, you can send us videos or other evidence by submitting a customer support ticket, by sending them to anyone on the Community or Moderation team here on the forums, or emailing us at community@elderscrollsonline.com.

    Thank you!

Do you think suffice saying that? 'We are working on the issue, but yes, it is against the rules to use broken gap closers to get inside Cyrodiil keeps'. We already know that, they've been working on this issue for two years, since before the release of the game. DKs have been able to jump on to walls since Beta after all.

We need to know what measures they are taking against @Azurethe , confessed exploiter that was banned once, forgiven and now is on the Forums having a laugh at ZOS lack of responsiveness.

Why is this in the future tense as opposed to the past tense?

As soon as y'all sat down at your desks this morning someone should have printed a hard copy, hand carried it to person in charge is Enforcement, and waited while they pressed the permaban button so you could report that back to us here.

People openly brag about things like this in Cyrodiil zone chat, and have for the longest time. And I still see people who openly brag about cheating/exploiting playing. Hence why I (and many others) have kind of given up on Cyrodiil. When you see the same people doing the same things over and over again...

This is why they feel they can only brag about it on the forums. Because they don't fear ZOS, the rules or anything else. Any punitive action taken has been (seemingly) a slap on the wrist.

Apparently your discussion of legal action isn't all that absurd.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-36713061 Blizzard are doing that right now. Not sure if this is where the debate stemmed from or just a coincidence, sorry if I missed the talk of this already.

Interesting, but I wonder if Blizzard (and ZOS) would not have a better case against the players using the "cheat tools". After all, it is the user that is violating a contractual agreement with Blizzard by using the "cheat tool". Breach of Contract often comes with financial recompense.

It is pointless to sue players that are not likely to have the financial means to pay even for the trial. They go after those hacking their game as doing so is deemed illegal in pretty much every country...
