Why would a pvp enthusiast play eso in the first place? Why would they stay?
The bigger question is why any pvp main stays.
To be clear, I am talking gameplay. I know a lot of alliance loyalists who just enjoy the zone chat culture and hanging out with familiar faces.
Other players enjoy grouping with their friends in different kind of groups.
But at technical and gameplay levels, it's objectively bad. I think there are players who are seduced by the power fantasy derived from pugstomping pve casuals who are there to grind end of campaign transmutes on all of their alts without pvp builds. I don't consider them real pvp players though, because in my experience playing online pvp games for almost 30 years, true pvp players get bored by that kind of thing and will quit because of it.
And then on top of the technical and gameplay issues, there's the fact it's gated behind one of the most casual pve mmos ever made. Why would a pvp enthusiast bother?

This is horrible. It looks on the face of it plain bigoted bullying. It might not be relevant, but I've noticed that CS seems to have difficulties with LGBTQ+ issues overall. I reported someone in zone chat for calling a Pacrooti's Hirelings recruiter mentally ill for being gay, and I was told by CS this didn't violate any policies. It gave me pause at the time, but I left it alone. Now, with this, I wonder if there's a larger cultural problem in the CS department.
That's actually very concerning.
My issue is the lack of transparency. What is being done to resolve this? We've been made aware of what is causing it - but nobody is telling us how longterm this is going to be rectified? Is connection issues the new norm now? I for one do not feel like playing a game where connection is available at the flip of a coin.
I have done some searching - but not seen where we have been told the cause? thank you!

FRA relies on that connection heavily to remain up and we're working with our provider to investigate and resolve the stability issues.
