Can't be on PS4-NA that you're talking about. Literally waves of D.C. and E.P. have been slamming into the sides of Alessia and Roe. Or so they were at around 4am this morning.
Cyrodiil was the most fun at launch when there were a dozen different campaigns and epic battles raging all over the map at all hours, even 3am weeknights.
Wish we had this kind of event at least one weekend every month, and I hope eventually we are able to host more players in each campaign and more total campaigns.
My original post was made prior to ZOS launching 2 new campaigns to help increase demand. After this was done, I had a lot more fun running around Cyrodiil, though I still get kicked every single time I play in Vivec (my alternate is Xarxes, and I've only been kicked there once).
I do think this event really highlights the ongoing flaws with one of the major selling points of this game (large-scale AvA battles), but I'm hopeful that it will get more people into PVP long-term. I'd never participated in Battlegrounds, but have now tried it several times based on my attempts to get the last achievement I need for the event (did not realize this was also broken). Really fun, other than the activity finder queue constantly popping, failing, and placing me back in the queue.
My original post: My experience so far (on XBox NA) has been waiting in queue for an hour, having it pop, only to not be taken to Cyrodiil and put back at the end of the queue. When it came up the second time, I entered Cyrodiil, only to have the game crash within 15 minutes of playing (I did manage to help take a keep in that time, so there is that I guess). When I logged back in, I was out of Cyrodiil and didn't have the heart to attempt to get in a third time. I should also mention that both my guild and area chats were going in and out the enter time (continuous countdown timer, then periodically being notified I was "now in area chat").
Whoever was in charge of planning this must be a business person with no technical knowledge, because the event has now only served to highlight the technical debt that has accumulated over the lifetime of ESO. If I were a player new to the game and experienced these problems, I'd be reconsidering whether to continue playing or not.
Been having tons of fun! Had to turn my graphic settings a bit lower but worth it! I had great PvP nights before but nothing as awesome as this! I wish PvP was always this busy!
That's one of the worst things happened to pvp (and I was waiting for this event, hoping that it's going to be fun).
1) Cyro. Just shocked. Queues for 600+ people (Me and my friends are playing no-CP so this 2 new cp 7 days not giving me anything). Insane zergs everywhere, unplayable lag. That's the place I will stay away while this event
2) BG. So I decided to go for BG, because there shouldn't be suck issues, but ZOS managed to make even BG ****. Are you kidding, or you removed all game modes but the most stupid and annoying Capture the Crap? I hate it. Today I played 7 BG and didn't have any single TDM or domination. I have not seen TDM for a really long time actually.
wow, just wow. I don't even want to play any pvp during this event.

When you've invested time and money into a company, you have the right to be upset over changes that will negatively affect your experience and gameplay.
It's horrible. I want to play a game to have fun, not to be miserable and stressed out. PvPers could easily get the rewards from the other events (can still buy them at guild traders for a few hundred gold even), but non-PvPers in this event are just out of luck.
... Lag, crash, queues and bad framerates. Everything about this event is dreadful, with the one glimmer of hope being 100 % more AP so that I can get Vigor and Warhorn faster on some characters (not a huge pvp'er)
Server - PC/NA
Vhevet - (S) Night Blade/Female/Orsimer
Ecaer - (M) Templar/Female/Breton
Captain Beaster Bunny - (S) Warden/Male/Red Guard
Ezaera - (M) Sorcerer/Female/Altmer
Ecaeri - (M) Warden/Female/Argonian
Dun-and-Dunmer - (M) Dragon Knight/Male/Dunmer
What Can Go Wong - (S) Night Blade/Male/Bosmer
Izaer - (M) Templar/Male/Breton
I don't really care about the event itself but it has made the ques for my chosen Cyrodiil campaign simply stupid to the point it is not realistic to even try and get in
...the event is too short, an achievement is bugged, and Cyrodiil already had major problems before the influx of Morrowind players exacerbated the situation. Also, one achievment requires 50 killing blows, which puts a large sector of support builds at a major disadvantage. The server problems are also causing issues in the PvE aspect of the game, messing up group finder and overall lag.
On the other hand though, this event isn't mandatory. Neither is playing this game, if we want to get technical.
Got around 1 mil ap each just duoing with my wife over the course of 8 hours play time. Queues and lag are annoying but there's a lot of noobs around to 1 shot with proc sets. Giving proc sets a good send-off before they get 'nerfed to the ground'.
I'm loving it because now there are so many people in Cyrodiil. I'm hating it because now there are TOO many people in Cyrodiil.
I question the logic behind this event. Cyrodiil gets laggy on a GOOD day. Imagine how bad it gets when you jampack hundreds more people in.
Still haven't had time to actually do anything. PvP is only an occasional thing for me, so have to psych up to just dying constantly without getting AP.
I shouldn't have to turn my console on 2 hours in advance of wanting to PvP.
Also don't have to play it to know it'll be laggy as hell and crashes constantly.
I'm still holding out that they'll eventually fix all the performance issues but im not going to support the constant cash grabs that seem to take priority over stability.
They won't even accept the fact that the issues are all on them. It's pathetic.
I'd be enjoying it a lot more if a) it wasn't bugged; b) the queues weren't as ridiculous and c) I wasn't getting disconnected for no reason every ten minutes. Fun times.
The context is interesting, and I always love me some double AP, but game performance was dreadful all of yesterday and it had terrible timing since the event dropped on the last day of a tight game on the most competitive campaign PC NA. We had invested 30 days into that campaign and the performance issues were making it terrible for anyone with a vested interested in the outcome. Still, we'll see how it goes, maybe performance will improve.

>>>...560 position in queue for home camping... 1-2h later... ok I am there... port to another fort / castle / keep when there is some action... 5 min loading screen... kick... back to PvE zone... 560 position in queue for home camping...>>>
GJ ZOS... you royally f**ed it up.... how am I suppose to get those AW ranks to unlock skill points ?! Play from 3 am to 7 am ?!
Did I say I was getting kicked every 10 minutes? Scratch that and make it 2. It's positively ridiculous. Log in, place siege, aim, 999 ping, kicked out.
At least of the 20+ times I've had to relog it hasn't kicked me from the campaign. Knock on wood.
At this rate it really is going to take the entire event to get 50 kills in.
I forget the event was on so I haven't really played much. But so far it doesn't really seem like much of an event. It's just the same stuff I usually do with more lag.
