I just finished the download. ESO uses 76 GB on the hard drive, with German and English VO, just 6 GB less than before. The best thing is that I have just tried to start the client, but this is rejected with the indication that the client is out of date.

I've got the Steam version and my folder is still a hefty 89.7GB. Still, now I know that it doesn't take too long to install, I'll wait for an updated Steam launcher, then reinstall at some future point.

For some reason, Steam installs the audio files for all three languages. In contrast, ZOS's launcher only downloads and installs the audio for the language that you selected. You can delete the excess audio files, though.
You should see folders named "depot", "game", "vo_en", "vo_fr", "vo_de". Delete the two "vo_" folders that are not relevant to you.
