    Sometimes i wonder if the combat team plays the game themself. Beside overland questing.

    1 sec cast time on shields. Wow.
    Making shields critable and give them resist, i can live with.

    But now wow. Getting gank from nb is a death sentence. Light armor means 10k incap, break free from cc trying to shield takes 1 second. The nb dont even need to interrupt your shield cause you are Dead before. This will force magsorcs into heavy armor. Everyone will now use heavy armor. Gg Zos.

    Removal of 3rd skillbar. This killed my stamsorc. Also the stamsorc from my friend, reggii. Our playstyles are now completly Dead. We used to run non cancer Medium armor. we had shuffle, crit surge on overload. Now this is gone. Changes to dark deal are 100% stupid.

    Thats how you kill a class in one patch.

    Pls fire whole combat team. They are so bad and dont habe a clue about their game/job.

    I will cancel my sub, no more money. Thats the only language you seem to understand. Bye bye

    Havent tested yet on PTS, so just some quick thoughts on these changes. I expect them to remain valid through the testing, though.
    • Cast time for shields in PVE wont change much as nobody needs lots of shields there, anyways. So no big problem. But then, sorcs were killed in endgame PVE a long time ago already, so who cares?
    • Cast time for shields in PVP and crit damage on shields in PVP will change a lot as it will make it even harder to keep shields up in a fight. Extending the duration of shields will not help because even with a 6 seconds duration, shields were being destroyed long before they expire in a real fight. So the added 3 seconds duration are useless in a fight.
    • Adding resistance to shields will be a huge buff for heavy armor users and a huge nerf to light armor users. So PVP meta will shift to heavy armor for magplayers. (And getting a light-armor-buff to sprinting is not exactly helping because - has anybody noticed? - very few stamina players use light armor. lol)
    • I fail to see the necessity of buffing shields for tanks. In PVE they were doing fine until now, in PVP they are overperforming already.

    I also fail to see any buff compensating these huge nerfs. So in PVE sorcs are still massively underperforming compared to magblades and in PVP they have to gear up in heavy armor to survive. What exactly is the argument for playing (mag)sorc next patch?

    This ability and its morphs now stun the target after 1.2 seconds; a new visual effect will display on the target to indicate this effect. The initial application of this effect cannot be dodged, but if the target is dodging after 1.2 seconds they will avoid the stun.
    Increased the duration of the stun to 3 seconds from 2 seconds.
    Rune Cage (morph): Increased the damage done if the target fails to use Break Free before the stun ends by approximately 22%.

    The stun duration is irrelevant as it will be easily roll dodged; 1.2 seconds is a laughably long time in PvP.



    Conjured Ward:
    This ability and its morphs now have a 1-second cast time, previously an instant cast.
    Increased the duration of the damage shield for Conjured Ward and the Hardened Ward morph to 9 seconds from 6 seconds.


    You can increase the duration by 3 seconds or 3 hours, it's going to be gone after one or two crits, and there are several armor sets/ class abilities already in game that guarantee a crit.

    Empowered Ward (morph): Increased the duration of the damage shield to 14 seconds from 9 seconds.

    Seriously? In what possible scenario would a 14 second damage shield be more useful than a 9 second?
    This morph could instead make the shield instant cast but weaker, giving it at least marginal utility in PvE emergencies.

    make them crit-able or have the cast time, not both. Your going to kill the "play whatever you like, how you like." nobody will wear light armor, unless youre ok with being in a zerg and behind the lines. No way can you be adventurous and small scale/solo play, the sec youre focused on you're going down fast and hard. So you want everybody to slap on heavy? ok now the mag builds lose crit and pen. So now we wont be able to burst down anybody since we'll lack the pen, have you tried to fight a stam user when youre in heavy as a magsorc? they out heal your dmg. wet noodle dmg...

    So pick crit-able or the cast time, on shields. NOT. BOTH.

    To compensate for the 1 second ward cast time, ZOS should accordingly increase the lag in pvp.

    So after playing around a bit on the PTS even more... I can honestly say, from a PVE perspective this new Overload is much better. I feel they perhaps should have let Power Overload keep its 3rd bar, but Energy Overload is very nice. On a 6mil damage dummy I went in with about... 300~ or so ultimate to begin with (which is not really asking for much since most of us would save about 213 for elemental rage). I waited until potion was at 25 seconds and ran through my rotation until I used a potion again, and then I activated Energy Overload and continued on. By the time I activated Overload my ultimate was somewhere in the 400s. I tried this on Argonian, High Elf, and Dark Elf. On Argonian I actually sustained the entire 6mil damage dummy without a single heavy attack, of course the damage was ultimately lower than on a High Elf, it was impressive to say the least.

    After some testing on pts:

    shields:
    • the shields cast time feels like 2-3 sec
    • the animation looks dumb as hell
    • like all cast time abilities they are useless if there is lag a.k.a cyro
    • you can bash them (LOOOOOL look a dead sorc)
    • in general all cast time skills are not really fun to play with
    • pet sorc not have a harder time to shield their pets (not sure how the resistance and lack of impen will play out on them)
    the change to shields to be able to be crit-able and have resistances will also change a lot. Sorc, assuming they still play and use shields, are actually not benefiting that much from it unless they run a troll tank. In general the damage against shields will likely go up or sorc have to sacrifice either to much damage or sustain to make it work. On the side not the change to damage shields did buff all tanks that had % hp shields in pve and maybe even in pvp. Sorc tanks do not really benefit from it.(they also got nerfed with the change to dark deal)

    rune cage:
    • i like the animation
    • expensive for a stun with no other effects - look at all other cc fossilize instant+root+damage+no counter-play at all; fear instant+snare+minor main+aoe+no counter play, reverb bash instant+defile+damage
    • duration is short - a longer cc is better than some pitiful damage at the end: there are 2 cases A) one player breaks cc instantly and they will get no damage of the cc at all which will happen in 90% of all cases B) player is out of stam and can not cc break and extra time to punish it it way better than that joke of a damage at the end
    • a in such a way delayed cc is not always good in pvp - easy to counter and hard to time to Interrupt an enemy but delayed ccs can help with burst
    In general i think it got another nerf and i really wonder why ppl would use it at all.


    Dark deal:
    • it got nerfed
    • will hurt sorc tanks
    • will hurt stam sorc pvp sustain (actually ok with that)
    • will hurt mag sorc pvp sustain (yeah another nerf)
    They nerfed the sustain on sorc without giving them sustain somewhere else. They had already a bad time sustaining especial in pve. In pvp mag sorcs had to build for stam reg so they could use this skill to sustain. On the side note it is also a nerf to sorc tanks.

    Overload
    • The damage of this skill got reduced greatly - the damage is ~2x of normal light attack
    • no more third skill bar and sorc still has the most skill that need to be double barred
    • no ulti regen while in overload
    • easier to use
    • heavy attacks hit harder but they are channels
    The damage of this ulti is not pitiful it just replaces light attacks and deals 2x the damage of them: the ulti just adds another light attack damage to your damage since you miss the normal light attack damage. You gain no ulti while using it makes it even worse. No more utility bar. The only good thing is that you can use it to sustain magica. (I really wanted to test it with elegance but there seem to be some error in the templates and i could not find it but one medium set was in the light armor sets)


    All in all 4/4 hard nerfs. Sustain is bad, defensive skills of sorcs are bad, they lost their third bar and overload damage is not quite low.


    Edit: I should mention i do not to intend to use my sorc at all if they changes go live and i barely use him at the moment already on live since all other classes have more to offer

    I forgot that sorc go some buff but they were all to pets.

    PETS:
    • Pets are have a bad AI and bug out in lag
    • glich out
    • hard/impossible to control (prevent add stacks in trials)
    • need to be on both bars and rip third bar
    • Can not be used in a lot of content because mechanics. In vAS pets just die and even can kill team mates and it has been that for ages so i do not think they will change anything. Also chain lightning in AA and so on.
    • with the shield changes they will be even harder to keep alive
    Overall i do not even bother to actually look at the pet changes


    Also to top it off and to put the final nail in:

    proc cfrags are now pink

    You will hardly sustain with that and you dmg will be potato, still your shields will will melt even faster then they do now. All that not even taking 1 sec cast time into account.

    Well, after 4.5 years of subscription, and 4 years of main MagSorc, I'll be dropping my sub if this nonsense goes live, and perhaps log in sometimes to play my Warden, only because I have sunk cost with gear, nice guilds, and housing.

    With a 1-second cast time, my MagSorc will be dead every time it drops against a boss. I guess I could stack even more shields, start carrying a resto staff for Ward Ally. Maybe switch to heavy armor so I can stay alive long enough to cast one spell, then heavy-attack until I have Magicka for another. Halving my DPS to stay alive.

    Meanwhile, the Nightblade is of course never nerfed. Why doesn't Cloak have exponential costs and cooldowns like Streak? Because Wrobel plays Nightblade.

    There's also another game in classic Vanilla flavor coming sometime, and the great part about Vanilla is: No unexpected nerfs.

    Overload feedback for the StamSorc

    I´ve just tested the new Overload for more than an hour, and here is my feedback regarding the skill change itself (the unacceptable loss of the 3rd bar should be known by now).

    - mechanics: It´s basically an Imbue weapon 2.0 which adds to the game another level of clunkyness directly contradicting the class concept of a "Speedster"
    - damage (PvE): theoretically, it´s an PvE dps increase, but practically, it makes you feel horrible because you won´t see the large damage numbers that made the skill feel epic.

    - damage (PvP):

    a) The OL light attack won´t be used by anyone as the condition of the servers make it impossible to use it together with Imbue Weapon; furthermore, Nightblades get almost the same mechanic (Assassin´s Will) without any Ulti costs and a better burst window, so why should one waste a Dawnbreaker slot on this?

    b) The OL Heavy Attack is a bit overtuned. I can see it replace the Eye-of-the-Storms in group PvP.


    Conclusion:

    PvP StamSorcs didn´t need more AoE DPS, we need something that helps us damage single targets quickly enough to bring them into executioner range before they heal up. With the new Overload things went from mediocre to bad.

    Suggestion:

    Revert the changes to Overload, and rework the Atronach instead along the following lines:

    a) The Atro´s duration scales off the invested amount of ultimate energy, starting with 50 Ulti and 10 seconds, up to 200 Ulti and 40 seconds

    b) Summon Charged Atronach is changed so that it doesn´t do its AoE attack. Instead, it charges its channeled attack which becomes stronger the longer a target is affected.

    c) Summon Greater Storm Atronach now does physical damage and grants the caster the Major Berserk buff the synergy normally provides.

    Dark Exchange: This ability and its morphs now restore half their resources immediately, and the other half over 20 seconds. Total resources restored has been increased by approximately 2%. The Health restored remains unchanged.

    Oh thank you, I'm so pleased. Not only will I have a delay in shielding myself when fighting bosses, but I'll also not be able to heal myself as effectively. Great, just great. :#

    Speaking for PvP atleast, it seems like ZOS does not understand a simple concept - Classes are what they are, unfair and optimum for certain playstyles/situations. Every one of us has been killed by every other class on any toon. There is no class which I can say completely dominates me in PvP. I get killed equally by all. I kill all equally (depending on MY toon, not theirs).

    Nerfing everything just because it is doing what it was originally intended to do is not the solution. Life is unfair. Some classes will perform better than others in PvP and those same classes will have a class they will dread.

    Wish they would improve the stability of the game, deal with bugs instead of trying to "fix” classes for ffs ...

    The way they are headed they will soon have the same abilities on every class with a different name and different animation.

    It’s going to another nerf sorc patch next time too. ZOS doesn’t know how to balance without #nerfsorc

    You managed to *** and annoy one of the greatest sorc player - Dracane - that said ESO is love just several months ago.

    GG Zos, annoy your loyal player base even more and be left with casuals and daily rewards.

    Personally, I'm sick of drastic changes every few months. Sick of it. And usually it's nerf this, nerf that, do the acrobatics to overcome the bad changes.

    Cast time - no.
    3rd bar removal - no. It was a mandatory for pet sorcs that already had 2 spaces less in each of the bar.

    Like others, I will stop subbing if this crap goes live. Dont care for more eso+ benefits if you make the base game changes so obnoxious and frustrating every few months.

    Dark Exchange: This ability and its morphs now restore half their resources immediately, and the other half over 20 seconds. Total resources restored has been increased by approximately 2%. The Health restored remains unchanged.

    Oh thank you, I'm so pleased. Not only will I have a delay in shielding myself when fighting bosses, but I'll also not be able to heal myself as effectively. Great, just great. :#
