@ZOS_GinaBruno You know what will be great both for players and sales, if you give character titles when owning any of the big manors (not just only have that entitled for the 3-4 generic ones)

This is the official feedback thread for the new homes and furnishings currently on the PTS. Specific feedback that the team is looking for includes the following:

Out of the three homes currently on the PTS, which was your favorite?

It's a toss up between Dawnslight and DB Sanctuary. Both have aspects I like and some I dislike.

What was your favorite aspect of each home?

DB - All the waterfalls within it.

DL - The pools and infinity wall edges. The edges allows you to build outwards smoothly if you choose. Was able to
go about 12 planks out over the water, plenty of room to build a boat.

CH - Was able to go 20 stories upwards, those are double stories as I used sharp angles with the plank sections.

Which was your favorite new furnishing?

The storage chests, just wish they had somewhere they told you a little more of how the storage works. Trial an
error allowed me to figure this out on PTS.

What do you wish to see from future homes and furnishings?

More disclosure about the home BEFORE you purchase, number of items that come with , Item limits... etc

Attune-able storage chest, let us decide if our favorite piece of furniture is able to made into storage. The click icon
is easy enough to figure out that it's storage and you can name them.

Armor dummies. I was highly disappointed when I made the brass dress dummy that it was not storage for armor.
Also want weapons display cases and racks. The Armor and Weapon displays count as a single house item, not
how many items are placed on it.

Better building materials with more size choices. I want regular edges and match material looks. A working surveyors
tool that a straight line beam, toggle on and angle (0, 30, 60, 90) and second tool that has (360, 330, 300, 270) angles.
Both tools with diagrams to be built in game, crown store one could be premium with all angles and light color change
    crystals.

Item limit increases of all houses and if you want to sell a build your own lot then 3x the item space for it's size. Our
building material choices suck and require us more space than what you give. Try building a replica of any one of your
houses using only the materials that we have.

Working doors as a furniture piece or the various race/ faction styles. Crown store could offer one that adds a room,
could be different sizes/ styles, limited by the collectable item size of house and room adds to house item limit.

Sun, Moon and Weather stone items. Lets you select the environment in the courtyard. Sun has Sunrise, Noon or Sunset.
Moon has Twilight, Midnight or Borealis. Weather has Rain, Snow or Fog. A permanent version and a trade-able temp
20hr versions with single effect that could be rewards.

Marker expendable item, lets us select a furniture and add a paragraph of text that displays at close range when
targeted. Marker effect could be removed and only one effect per piece, could even be part of the collectable count.
Use could be as a Memory marker, poem or instructions to visitors. You could have some limited collectables as rewards
with quotes from Lore/ NPC's that do not count as collectable item for house.

Item that grants access to the Guild Bank.

Our own Narcis Dren that we could torture in our homes..... ;)

Do you have any other general feedback?

Did I mention better and more building materials. ;)

Consider a PTS assistant that grants additional Currencies. Allows for testing of all aspects when you need the access. Could also act as a PTS FAQ,

1,000 crowns is way too much for a small added effect such as Butterflies and Mist. Make it for a ten pack at that price.
Consider that for about 2,000 more crowns you get 150 -200 items, yes I get you are granting a price break. Alacarte
should not be as high as you have it. Us poor people are more likely to but small items that we perceive as a good value,
we want to spend our limited funds wisely.

I'll be buying Erstwhile sanctuary as a vamp lair and Surreal estate for my 'project' that I've planned.

Shame you cant have proper guild places where ownership is shared according to the buyer and anyone with permission could add items and furnish the place...because the palace would be great for that.

Could we make it so people could go to houses other then your primary home without you being there? I don't know maybe have a drop down list of houses people own and then you can try to go there. I think this would make more sense then having to be there especially since you can always adjust permissions if you do not want certain individuals/guilds there.

I have been wanting this since Homestead launched! Integrating the upcoming home storage feature with display cases & vitrines would be a fantastic idea too, though idk how feasible it is to ask them not to count the items in them towards the furnishing limit. Being able to store/display specific items from in-game as cosmetic features (i.e. being able to place items, weapons, armor, etc. as furnishings) from particularly memorable quests or battles would add a much needed RP element to housing. Though, I know adding yet another way to circumvent your character's inventory space cap would likely be ignored by ZOS. But even just adding it as a purely aesthetic option would make me and a lot of other housing enthusiasts happy.

On PC at least we have the Port To Friends House Add-On to use for this. However, I will continue to implore ZOS to implement this functionality into the game itself. We should be able to set, per house, the visitor permissions we want.
    1. Permissions for an entire specific guild.
    2. Permissions for entire Friend list.
    3. Permissions for specific players, whether or NOT they are on our Friend list or any guild list.
    4. Permissions that will allow us to set a house as "Public" which means that anyone who types your player handle in can get to the house you have designated as a public space.

This needs to be part of the upcoming update. Pretty please ZOS!

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but there seems to be a strange bug in Erstwhile Cavern that is preventing effects from water, incense smoke and lighting from showing up. This isn't always present, and sometimes logging out and in again helps, but not every time.

The main places I have noticed this is in the small room with the waterfall in the middle, sometimes the water is not present, just a hazy light in its place, at the beautiful overlook with the beams of light, which sometimes vanish, even during the day, despite them being there at all times of the day usually. At the start of the cave, before you enter the large room, I have encountered braziers which still give off a glow but the fire does not seem to be present, again relogging sometimes fixes this, but strangely moving that light somewhere else, even beside braziers that are working fine, does not fix them. In the big room right at the back of the cave, incense smoke seems to work only occasionally, but more often than not it does not show up at all, despite working perfectly fine in all other parts of the cave.

This is really strange, and really annoying also, especially as I personally use the incense smoke for much more than just what it was intended for, as I am sure others do to. I do hope that this is fixed before this house goes live, because I love it, and it is by far my favourite of the three

Perhaps, the lighting in that hallway area is very weird, and is almost like sunlight is getting in through some unseen place  but the bugs were appearing in different areas. They weren't too apparent in the video, I relogged several times, especially toward the end, but the incense I put in a few areas did not show no matter how much I relogged, so I gave up on some of those...

I hope, that you maybe make it possible that we can use the waterarea (with the few trees) down the waterfall also for furnishing.
Now it is like there is a point where we get fall damage when we try to get down there. When we can build in other houses really high, why we can't build us there down?

I think what bothers me most is that I have yet to see you make changes to a house based on the feedback from PTS beyond getting access to a couple of towers in the very first houses released. So I feel like you asking for feedback is a bit disingenuous.

It seems that the feedback they are mainly interested in is just levels of excitement so their marketing team can know how expensive they can push the houses and max out some sort of profit curve. Excitement is probably just a variable in a formula.

I would love to be proven wrong and have actually substantive changes happening on the PTS but I think at this point, ZOS should rename it to the Public Marketing Server.

I will be really curious to see if they make ANY changes based on the feedback here. I really feel like they aren't listening at all. @ZOS_GinaBruno can you tell us if ANY changes are being made to these houses?

Lighting and Miscellaneous are still not in Alphabetical order, and needs to be moved. This isn't a huge issue for the miscellaneous, but when you have 1400 recipes learned finding the lighting category becomes a pain to always scroll through the tabs, especially on console. The current order is listed below.
    - Dining
    - Hearth
    - Library
    - Parlor
    - Lighting (Should be moved above Parlor)
    - Structures
    - Suite
    - Undercroft
    - Workshop
    - Miscellaneous (should be moved above Parlor and under Lighting)

    Suggestion:
I would suggest chaining the name of the new Furnishing plan:

Praxis: Table Blackmarrow, Slab ---> Praxis: Blackmarrow Table, Slab

This would make it more consistent with all the other furnishings in the game, Especially since most people are already familiar with the current labeling formula that is being used

    EX= Praxis: [Style][Item], [Description]
    Praxis: Ayleid Bookshelf, Cluttered
    Praxis: Blackmarrow Table, Slab

This will also make it easier to find in the endless lists of furnishings that you can craft, as it is the only item with the Blackmarrow style (Although technically i think it would be the only one that starts with the word "Table" as well.)

    * Side note: please make more blackmarrow style items or other cool furnishings for this update if you have the time.

Out of the three homes currently on the PTS, which was your favorite?
I liked all of them, objectively speaking they are well done, minor tweeks only needed. The plot is a great idea for the creative folks, the cave is great for those who like it, the palace is , well, very royal.
Just none of them my cup of tea, so I'll pass. They are TOO BIG

What was your favorite aspect of each home?
The redguard palace- water inside and outside, fountains, space allowed for swimming.
    Sanctuary- waterfalls, ambience,
Coldharbor plot- space for creativity, the general idea of an empty plot.

Which was your favorite new furnishing?
Fountains, fence (building blocks is a good direction). Was hyped for butterflies but a big dissapointment- see below.

What do you wish to see from future homes and furnishings?

Homes- it's not about the price really, it's about the slots/space ratio, general feeling of cosiness and homeness- MEDIUM HOMES !!! I was so happy with the Witches Cottage, you can really decorate it. I was so hoping for a small-mediumish snowy cottage, nord preferably, with a nice land around, for Christmas. It's a must next December
The huge houses are great for some people, but I prefer medium ones, but the outside is a great factor for me. i liked Morowind medium - hope for similar next chapter.

An empty plot like coldharbor but in a different setting- sands/beach, forest glade, snowy wasteland, etc.

Furniture - more flowers not only from crown shop. Single stem flowers/ bouquets to put into vases, flowery trees of medium size, fruit trees. Wider variety of wells.
Almost forgot - STAIRS, short, long, wide, narrow, lots of them !

Do you have any other general feedback?
More medium houses with outdoor space and not such high walls.
And the butterflies - I was so hyped about them and then I see hardly visible furniture with a 1k crowns price tag ! But regardless of the price , they are just so tiny, when I move a bit away from them I can hardly see them. I think ancestor moth sized flock of them would be great, different colours, make one achievemnt, some in crown shop, some event, so many colours and possibilities. And really - size matters !

The Sanctuary is my favorite. I just love all the water features. The views are really neat. I don't really care for Imperial furniture. I don't like that it looks like it is basically Breton furniture, except grey.

I like the idea of the palace as a guild hall, but it is too big and I don't think I could do it justice
in the amount of slots that we are given to decorate things, without cutting off huge parts of it. If I have to do that, why bother? I would like the options of smaller properties that still have access to interesting features like water features.

I like that you added more fountains. Can you just sell like a spigot with water coming out? I like to make things with the water, like sinks and showers. If I don't have to cover up parts of a fountain, I can use my own imagination to make my designs.

I need more building components. Why only one doorway? How about steps? I hate having to use so many individual blocks or platforms for steps. It takes too many items. I really like the Redguard Wall. I didn't like the top of it. It is pretty, but it limits the ways I can use it. I want wall pieces that match the styles of each race.

I really like the Cold Harbor property too. I like the idea of using my own ideas to build on.

    Princely Dawnlight Pallace

Amazing design, but just to large for what you can do in a house at this time in the game

    Coldharbour Surreal Estate

Nice idea. The problem with this empty field is the lack of any prefabs in the game and ways to snap objects like bricks, panels, etc.

    The Erstwhile Sanctuary

Very big, again, not much to do in a huge "home" except for playing minecraft with expensive crown store furnishings.

    Regarding the new furnishings:

1st of all they are expensive, like 1k crowns for butterflies.

2nd, to many furnishings are still static, just fillers, there is little interaction or benefit from them, other than decoration. The furnishings are still not desirable on the market. As a crafter, I buy an expensive design, then see that none buys the furnishing, or it takes a week until someone buys it. Best sellers are the interactable items, like lights or chairs, next dividers.

I preffer a smaller house because the limitations make you be creative. I think the best house in ESO price/features is Mournoth Keep. But even smaller houses are nice. Why release only huge estates? How about a small house in Abah's landing as a reward for the thieves guild quest line? Or a house in Kvatch. How about a ship? A dwemer tower? A small aleyd ruin?

    Some suggestions:

    - Make the beds interactable. They should give a well rested buff that has a cooldown of 20 hours. This buff could give extra xp, gold, or stats recovery. This could make them more interesting, craft a bed that gives xp buff or food like buff, depending on what suits you.
    - Please create invisible cooking stations, that we can link to fireplaces or grills, like the redguard grill. The cooking station we have now is for outdoor.
    - Add some kind of prefabs, like walls, stairs, platforms, sheds, walkways, etc
    - In the future I would like to be able to purchase an empty piece of land, like the Coldharbour Surreal Estate, and to be able to create my own house from several templates, much like in Skyrim.
    - How about some planters? (to be able to plant herbs). Beehive, chicken nest, etc
    - I want to add servants in my house, NPC that will wonder, clean, do stuff, add life to a rather static place.

This is the official feedback thread for the new homes and furnishings currently on the PTS. Specific feedback that the team is looking for includes the following:
    • Out of the three homes currently on the PTS, which was your favorite?
    • What was your favorite aspect of each home?
    • Which was your favorite new furnishing?
    • What do you wish to see from future homes and furnishings?
    • Do you have any other general feedback?

My favourite of the three is the Coldharbour Flat Place, with a caveat: we need to have either some standard buildings, or some tools (items) to make standard buildings. My second fave is the Erstwhile Sactuary. Further comments below.

I like the Coldharbour house because it's a blank slate. To me the Sanctuary is what I wanted Earthtear to be. The palace is gorgeous, but I already have a gorgeous house (Linchal), so it's not a high priority.

My favourite new furnishing is the wall section with fence, though I could do without the fencing, or even live with it as a separate item.

Per above, I'd like to see some useful structural elements.
    - How about some wood panels (as opposed to rough planks) and stone sheets?
    - Stair sections or cllimbable ladders
    - Roofing
    - ROPE! The lengths in game are either way too short (most of them), way too long (Bucket, Well), or have ungainly objects attached. I ended up using "Snakes on a Rope" only because I could hide the snakes inside the attached object when building my balloon.
    - clickable or openable doorways (don't need a zone transfer, just one you can walk through)
    - Teleporter, even if tuned only to another house... the linking possibilities become endless, and duplicates functionality in the game.
    - People; the soul-shriven dude is not enough. Poseable people would be even better, and ones you could outfit (using the outfit system) would be best of all! Ordinary servants would come in very handy.
    - A way to increase the item limit/attendance limit in even a single house; I WOULD PAY CROWNS FOR THAT

Finally, some Quality of Life for the Housing Editor
    - A way to make "true" angles of attachment for items (e.g. right angles, 60°, etc)
    - A way to "glue" items together so they can be rotated & moved as a unit, even if they later unglue.

That's All I can think of right now. Most of it should be within the limits of the existing software, so I hope generally doable. Housing is one of my favourite aspects of the game and I'd be glad to see it improved in any way it can.

Oh yeah; one other thing I did miss that would be great to add:

    - Vermin: Rats, squirrels, bunnies, spiders, scorpions; create a spawn point and have them run or skitter around it.

Out of the three homes currently on the PTS, which was your favorite?

Really hard to say. Leaning towards the Sanctuary, which surprises me. I haven't ever really liked a home that lacks a real yard/outside before (always seemed like a little bit of a rip off if you didn't get one, to me) so that should tell you something. Did not like Earthtear Cavern, for example.

I like how they are all very different and unique.

What was your favorite aspect of each home?

Sanctuary: The waterfalls! And the stained glass! But especially the waterfalls.

I agree with the folks saying it would be nice if the pillars and bookshelves could be movable.

Palace: Just how beautiful it looks in general. I love how that front staircase looks. I like that you can swim in the pool.

I really want to second, though the points made here:

The Dawnlight Palace, while very beautiful, has several problems.

    1. Not enough item count for that HUGE place. Lighting it alone, because it is DARK even if you buy it furnished, will easily eat half that. Then what?
    2. Once again you've failed to give us access to ANY of the towers.
    3. There is not a single balcony accessible from inside the palace. I thought you figured out how much we LIKE having balconies when you made Linchal.
    4. Many of the beautiful outdoor views are ruined by walls that are too high to look over.
    5. Many places outside are inaccessible because of no stairs leading up to them and no doors inside leading out to them, even when there are places where there are "windows" that would be perfect for DOORS.
    6. Wonderful stairs leading right out to the sea with a harbor view full of ships and boats... but no ship or boat we can GET ON as part of the house area. :(

I agree with all of them. Considering its size, there should be more little doors going to outside balconies, towers, little surprise areas. I didn't spend time building, but I couldn't even figure out how to dance on top of my own fountains. Can't make the jump from the internal balconies to that area.

Coldharbor: I am happy you can jump down to "secret" cliffs. I like that you can get it with gold. I like the idea of an open plot to build on.

Item limit is going to be problematic for this one.

Which was your favorite new furnishing?

Hard to say "favorite" because it is inconvenient to go on a hunt through all of the new ones, and since I can't filter on "new" I may have missed some. But I am happy to see more skulls, and I really liked the "Vine curtain, festive flowers." Also I forget the name but there seemed to be a new post with the Redguard lantern on top, which I like because I've always liked the Reguard caged lantern.

What do you wish to see from future homes and furnishings?

Lots of things, but #1 on my list is that I'd really like a separate set of permissions to be able to allow people to bring items into my home, and I'd like to be able to surprise my friends with items in their home if they grant that permission to me. Can't tell you how disappointed I was, when housing first came out, that granting editor to my friends didn't mean they could put their items and collectibles in. How can I share my home if no one can put anything in it?

#2 on my list is that I'd like to see fishing holes and resource nodes added in some way. I understand that they'd probably have to be on a timer to keep from being abused, but the yards, oceans, water, etc. all feel a little less "real" without the chance of coming across a flower. I bought the Grand Topal Hideaway and it is just begging for the ability to sit quietly and fish there.

Please allow mounts in the logical areas of the homes that make sense.

    Please increase the item limit!!!

Please give us more color palettes for cloth items that decorate homes. I know there is a line between honoring the lore but I'd like to be able to dye items or have a greater variety of things come in different more vibrant colors. For example, the Khajiit Rug, Sun. I really like how it looks but sometimes I wish it was black and white, or purple and green. I understand that allowing us to dye all of the housing items would be crazy, but maybe the ones with large areas of color, like curtains, rugs, and beds?

Please convert some of the interesting-named treasures that we steal into items we can display in our homes. I think many of us would enjoy to see what the "disquieting family portrait" really looks like, for example!

Please consider all of the other great clever ideas that have been suggested here which I won't repeat. :)

Do you have any other general feedback

I am sad about how storage was implemented. I'm bummed that the storage chests are collectibles and count towards number of collectibles used. I'm bummed that existing desks, shelves, tables, nightstands didn't all become possible places to store things (like other Elder Scrolls games). In my opinion...... storage shouldn't be tied to specific collectibles that you have to go earn. You should be able to put things in your home, wherever you want, limited only by the types of items you can loot out of in the open world. Each home you own should increase the number of storage slots you have in your home(s). Little homes, like the free apartments, could get something as small as one storage slot, because obviously this could get out of control, so that even if you own every home available in game things don't get too crazy. Or put a cap on it. Subscribers should get double storage. People with visitor permissions should be able to sneak around and "steal" stuff from your containers... even if, to avoid abuse, the stuff you get is normally nothing, like lock picks, and containers often look empty. This to me is more about making the environment feel more real. Maybe every once in a while you can steal something cool like a motif. So when YOU look in your dresser, you see your stuff, but when GUESTS look in your dresser, it looks empty or they can loot something small like a white stolen item. And when EDITORS look in your dresser, they should be able to see and take things that aren't bound, and leave items. And maybe, for people who only want to deck out one house, you could get storage containers instead of buying more houses, but these containers would still go towards the total cap with some line in the middle so there is some incentive to own multiple houses while not requiring the purchase of many homes to have a reasonable amount of storage.

Pretty much the only thing I like about how storage was implemented was the fact that you can access items between homes. I would keep that feature, and make it so when you use a container in your home, you can see all of your "home" inventory, like a bank, but it is separate and you must go to your home to access it.

Sorry that my general feedback about housing storage is so negative. I like a lot of the things you do with this game, but this just wasn't at all how I envisioned it would be. Great job on the new homes, though... I like them all!
