I think what bothers me most is that I have yet to see you make changes to a house based on the feedback from PTS beyond getting access to a couple of towers in the very first houses released. So I feel like you asking for feedback is a bit disingenuous.

It seems that the feedback they are mainly interested in is just levels of excitement so their marketing team can know how expensive they can push the houses and max out some sort of profit curve. Excitement is probably just a variable in a formula.

I would love to be proven wrong and have actually substantive changes happening on the PTS but I think at this point, ZOS should rename it to the Public Marketing Server.

I will be really curious to see if they make ANY changes based on the feedback here. I really feel like they aren't listening at all. @ZOS_GinaBruno can you tell us if ANY changes are being made to these houses?

Well they did fix the toe munching slaughterfish in the Palace so I have to give them that. Someone did read this thread. Hopefully the fixes to the mansions will someday trickle down to my poor twin arches and the sad sad roof.

    Patch Notes V 3.3.4
Moved the boundaries and Slaughterfish back on the eastern beach in the Princely Dawnlight Palace. Dipping your toes in the water is now less likely to result in the loss of those toes.

Thank you Gina for looking out for the poor toes.

Well I'm glad they fixed SOMETHING. But really, THAT was it? sigh

Hi Gina… Only just returned to the game after a long break, and while this post maybe late in the day for this thread, I’d like to contribute.

    • Out of the three homes currently on the PTS, which was your favourite?

My favourite of the 3 is the Dawnlight Palace, though I also like the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary.

    • What was your favourite aspect of each home?

My favourite aspect of the Palace was access to the Sea and the small beach. These areas offered at least the potential to create something outside of the home itself.

My favourite aspect of the Sanctuary was the Cavernous waterfalls… if only there were more secret areas behind some waterfalls… ;)

My favourite thing about the Coldharbour property is the general idea of selling players a plot of land that we can build upon as opposed to a set home. It’s a step in the right direction to offer something alternative… however, that particular idea is greatly limited by the low item count, which would feel even lower. I would personally like to purchase a plot of land in a dry (no rain) sunny area, where I can build my own realistic environment, including caves, a cottage or Broch etc… but that would also entail releasing more structural items with which to build.

    • Which was your favourite new furnishing?

I would have to say the large Desert boulders; again it’s a step in the right direction to allow players the ability to use environmental elements with which to build. We need larger pieces such as walls, stairs, floors, roofs, but also elements that match the natural environments our current homes are built in.

    • What do you wish to see from future homes and furnishings?

    1. Higher item count
    2. Now that invisible walls are being created in better locations, such as next to the property’s real walls and ceilings (as opposed to being inside the property walls so that a property has a lower ceiling or areas that cannot even be accessed [Earthtear]); I’d like to see older properties re-visited and finally fixed to fall in line with the better created newer properties.
    3. Larger environmental building materials matching textures from areas in the game, such as walls, floors, roofs, stairs, but also large boulders that match the environment… even patches of grass.
    4. Lower costs. While one track of thought is to set prices as high as possible to make the most profit… in reality more items would be sold if the prices were more reasonable. 1000 crowns are approximately £5 in the UK. With items such as a fountain being priced at 2000 crowns, or mundus stones at 4000, we are talking about £10-£20 items. Similarly, the notable homes cost around 12-13000 crowns, which is approximately £65. That’s a huge amount of money. I know many players would like to buy these homes and collect them all, but at £65 per home, you would have to be rich in real life.
    5. In terms of what type of homes I’d like to see:
    • Larger plots of land, with smaller homes (the opposite of Dawnlight palace). So an area approximately the size of the Dawnlight map, but with a smaller home, and larger land space.
    • Plots of land you can build your own home upon (if the materials were made available).
    • I’d personally love to see another Earthtear-like-Cavern, but in Vvardenfell. As a retired artist I can see the pure detail that went in to that and have to say it’s the most beautifully crafted area so far. The first time I stepped into Zainsipilu I knew I’d love to build and create within that environment. I’ve only just returned to ESO after a long break, so I’ve yet to discover the other delves, but I hope they are as beautiful.
    • Rain removed from the homestead instances… While weather effects are cool, they are also severely limiting creativity. Why? Well, apart from the current bugs on PS4 that have still yet to be fixed since Morrowind patch (raining inside many homes on PS4 but totally fine on PC); rain effects limit creativity because anything you build in the environment will not be recognised by the rain programming, so it will rain through any materials you place. Say you wish to build a house outside, or a cave, or anything that may use some type of roofing… when it rains within the homestead instance, it rains right through those materials you have placed, thus ruining the immersion, effect, and overall creativity. The only home I know of without this issue is Hunding’s Palatial Hall as it never rains there.
    • Perhaps a competition, where players with artistic talent/background could create a home for future sale using a limited time homestead editor... count me in ;)

EDIT: since testing on PTS I discovered that objects you place can create cover, so that rain does NOT penetrate the object... so creating a house or cave where it doesn't rain inside is totally possible. However, it appears it might just be working this way on PTS (possibly on PC too), but on console (PS4), rain ignores all objcets and just penetrates them as if they are not there... in many homes on PS4 too, rain just comes through the roof and acts as if the roof of the home is not there. I would like to investigate whether this is just a PS4 bug, or whether the bug extends to Xbox and PC too.
