The new rotating, drifting camera effect is horrible!! Please get rid of it before going live or at least give players a way to turn it off permanently. The effect will make housing even more time consuming and frustrating. When trying to place items in a house, the rotating camera causes items to be unintentionally misplaced. (There is a already a similarly annoying effect when the toon has a personality active, when the personality suddenly causes the toon to move.) The camera effect is sudden and unexpected and hard to control. It will add unnecessary time to every housing project. Please get rid of it! We don't want it, and it's sure to affect other things in game play.

What camera effect? That sounds awful, but I haven't noticed anything... what changed?

There is no way to decorate the Hew's Bane house with 700 items. The furnished option comes with 300 items, and it looks completely empty. This is the biggest house you've ever released (not counting the cave houses and the island, which are more like large, empty lots). Since this is a house with a courtyard and separate rooms, you need to fill up every nook and cranny to make it feel "lived in". You just can't do that with 700 items. This house is probably 3x bigger than Hunding's Palatial Hall, yet it only has 100 more furniture slots (and 600 slots wasn't even enough to decorate Hunding's).

It's a fantastic property, but you're going to lose a lot of sales on account of the low item limit.

I am really, really disappointed in the Coldharbour lot. I have been wanting a gold-purchasable home in Coldharbour for a long time now, but as someone who doesn't have ESO+ you get a max of around 300 slots for large places and that is not enough to build an entire house, let alone furnish it, even if you remove all outdoor items. And even if that item limit were increased, there is nothing to build with but uneven planks and rough stone blocks. AND on top of all that you charge 1 million??

Please rethink this, or at least offer us an actual dwelling. What about that house in Hollow City that is just labelled "Home" and does not seem to have a resident? If you emptied that out and offered it for 100-200k I would buy it in a heartbeat.

I'm also very sad that the only places offered in DLC zones are giant crown-only mansions. While I own a few notable homes, I prefer small to medium homes generally. I also have a dream of owning a house in every zone but mostly only have gold to work with. Could you please offer a few small places in DLC zones that are gold-purchasable in the future? Even apartments would be better than nothing.

Out of the three homes currently on the PTS, which was your favorite? The palace is stunningly beautiful.

What was your favorite aspect of each home? Water features are always a favorite of mine. I like the blank slate idea behind the property in Coldharbour.

Which was your favorite new furnishing? The butterflies.

What do you wish to see from future homes and furnishings? A service item, a "Butler", that can be placed in homes and from which I can access the inventory of all of my alts.

Things that add "life" such as animals that make sounds and move around. It might be nice to have a bard that has an on/off switch.

Do you have any other general feedback? Thank you for the availability of home storage.

This is the official feedback thread for the new homes and furnishings currently on the PTS. Specific feedback that the team is looking for includes the following:

[*] Out of the three homes currently on the PTS, which was your favorite?
All are well done, but the palace is easily my favourite.

[*] What was your favorite aspect of each home?
the indoor water feature and having access to the tops of the walls in the palace; the lighting in the cave; oddly the accessible ledges that run round the edge of the Coldharbour place I found intriguing.

[*] Which was your favorite new furnishing?
the hanging ivy with the flowers. Hopefully this will be purchasable with game gold and not just crowns.

[*] What do you wish to see from future homes and furnishings?
a much higher item limit in all houses. It is simply impossible to properly furnish a place with that "lived in" look with current limits. For example, in Pariah's, I had to focus on 3 small areas to fully decorate, and even then I hit the 700 item limit way too soon, so much of the place looks emptier than when I first bought it.

Access to the tops of walls, roofs, cliffs, etc. Put the collision at the outer edges/property perimeters of these things so we can access the entire property. Gorinir's is a good example of this: there is so much cool space on the tops of the cliffs but only a fraction of it is accessible.

[*] Do you have any other general feedback?
It would be nice to have other housing options other than huge/expensive/crown only homes in the DLC areas.

Out of the three homes currently on the PTS, which was your favorite?
Hard to say which one is my favourite. They all have merit depending on what you would like to do with them, but if I had to pick, it would be The Dawnlight Palace.

What was your favorite aspect of each home?

Dawnlight Palace: The stairs that went down to the water and the actual amount of space you have given to allow players to swim out into the water!!!! THANK YOU!!!!

Erstwhile Sanctuary: It's twists and turns. Though I do wish I could get down to the gully at the bottom of the waterfall.

Coldharbour Surreal Estate: The potential for Guild events in this one, such as using it as a sparing arena..... BUT!!!!
You really need to do one thing for this home to get a crap tonne of players to buy it.. ZOS.... YOU MUST ALLOW MOUNTS TO BE RIDEN in this home!!!!!
This is the perfect area for guilds and friends to hold Mount races!!!!! Oh the potential!!!

Which was your favorite new furnishing?
I liked the small things like the butterflies, but I'm not willing to pay 1000 crowns for them. They aren't worth any more than 100 to be honest.

What do you wish to see from future homes and furnishings?

    - I would like to see more small and medium sized homes available to purchase with gold in the game.

    - I would like to see a Brenton Manor home like Montclair Manor in Shornhelm or the one just outside Fell's Run (but without parts of the house cut off) in Rivenspire, complete with a little farm land, a windmill and a barn for mounts and a little meadow area.

    - Increase the item cap in homes to at least double what they are currently.

    - We need actual building items. Walls, Stairs, Windows, different window coverings, Floors all in different sizes and styles. We also need to get the different ovens and cooking surfaces made available.

Do you have any other general feedback?

Stop the grind for furniture plans.
You are always going to be updating and adding new homes with new zones, etc, and while I get that you don't want people getting everything over night. The grind does not need to be as bad as you have made it. You've reached a tipping point where things are becoming far, far too boring when it comes to looking for certain plans or furniture pieces and while there are some players willing to throw money into Crowns to just bypass this, I and many others are not and it's becoming rather overwhelming.

It would have been the Dark brotherhood one if we could change the music

What was your favorite aspect of each home?

I want the Molag ball statue shown in the loading screen to the coldhabour home! We really need more coldhabour stuff to make it a proper home.. but the next section is why i am truely writing this..

Which was your favorite new furnishing?

Okay. This is where we need to have a serious talk..
The Storage chests are an awesome idea but it has a serious flaw that needs to be addressed before this patch goes live.
and ill repeat. This is a serious flaw that can and will hurt those who have spend alot of time making attractive houses for their visitors.
    Now. the problem is this.
You cannot open the storage chest in other peoples homes. Sure everyone is not supposed to stealing your items but
the chests needs to be so that if someone has made a house with crafting stations your visitors needs to be able to access the chests. there are two ways to make the chests work in other peoples houses.
1: make it so you can set permissions on who can use the chests. This means the content of the chest is based on what house it is in. you can make a guildhouse sharing items and so on or just have a small friendgroup have their own shared storage. this will mean you should be able to set permissions per chests so the owner can have some privacy so I dont see this working..
The other way of doing it is what it in my opinion must be the way this has to be done. or these chests will force people to travel alot betrewn houses. Loading screens can be long for some of us and it will kill off guildhouses and so on but you can remedy this by making the chests content be accountbased. This way you can safely make everyone that visit the house acces to chest. It will make crafting in other peoples home still viable. I would prefer if you didnt but if you must push the sales of the chests then you can make the requirement that you need to have unlocked the collectible to have the chest open for you. But if they remain in their current state you are killing off the guildhouses and crafting homes. Some of us as spend thousands of vouchers on attunable crafting stations to make the crafters paradise. I dont want the visitors to be forced to leave for their own home just because the chests are not available for them anywhere else. Please.
This is very importnant issue about the chest that needs to be resolved

What do you wish to see from future homes and furnishings?
Make a crown-store Wayshrine. You keep making large beatiful houses but further away from everything. Since you have to port there everytime the gold-cost of traveling out is allways high. Being able to purchase a wayshrine for your home will allow homes placed further away from towns to still be attractive. as it is right now I travel to another player just to get to a wayshrine so I can travel to where I want to go just because my house is far away from town.

Do you have any other general feedback?
Please please PLEASE. Make the chests in homes accesible to all vistors. and add a wayshrine in the crownstore. maybe let us change the ambient music in our homes. that will make this patch truely awesome.
    Thank you for listening.

Yes please! I thought at first Ravenhurst would be like this but, like so many of the houses, the views are cut off by high walls. Plus yard space is small.

I want the ColdHarbour Estate, but the furnishing limitation just won't cut it. I wouldn't be able to make the home I want for such a low limit. My plan was to use all the exposed cliff areas (below the platform) as well as the top level. But I would run out of placement spaces, especially with storage boxes, and have to leave so much out. I can't justify a million gold for something I'd have to severely restrict that much. If you're going to offer such a plot with no home at all, wouldn't that mean you should up the furniture limit to try and compensate?

You know what really bugs me? It's that every single house they've put out so far is literally nothing more than a copy/paste of an already existing building in the game...and sometimes with less access or amenities. Like, where's the fireplace in Strident Springs which is literally nothing more than Vile Manse dungeon? You couldn't even put a little basement in there. I'm not saying include the whole dungeon (tho that would be neat!) but really, not only could we NOT get a fireplace but no cellar either? For what you're charging for the huge, crown only, places especially I would expect to see a LOT more detail and care put into those projects. And if you can't be bothered to make actual unique homes then here's an idea: Put ALL the buildings up for sale. And put up plots of land that players can choose from to place them on. If someone wants to go the "McMansion" route and put a huge house on a plot of land barely large enough to hold it, let them. If someone wants to plop a single tent down on the largest piece of land available, let them. Give us "building blocks" and let us get creative with them. Less work for you, more fun for us. Think about it, please, ZOS.

Don't. This way chests will only be able to hold non-binded items, but I guess not only I am planning to store my equipment (sets) in there, which would be impossible with what you propose. Just get a craft bag
Though it would be great to be able to have a single shared chest with smth like 2-5 slots to place rewards for different activities (like come and rob me if you can)

Along with building components like walls, stairs, flooring, can you please give us wayshrines to put in our homes.
Some of the homes are very far away from wayshrines and it just feels clumsy to have to port to a friend to get to a wayshrine.
PS. FYI, I wont be buying any of the new homes. They are too big to decorate with only 700 slots. Hews Bane is amazing but not a hope am i gonna spend €100-150 on something that will look half empty because of the item limits.

I have an idea for an approach to blank slate player homes.
Insert some mine entrances or cave entrances into the world (like you did for the witches cave for the festival)
Connect these to a walled open area. Kind of like an enclosed vale. You can have 3 different sizes of enclosed area.
Have a flat cleared area in the centre of these instances.
Allow players to buy and place houses on these flat clearings.
I think you are going the right direction with Cold Harbour Estate, you just need to go the next step.

See the attached housing mod that shows what I'm talking about and shows how housing could and should be done (imo)

Yeah I'm really thrown by the lighting issue. The whole concept of the place is supposed to be that it was specifically built to CATCH THE LIGHT. But it DOESN'T. I already hate the "windows" in this game since you can't actually SEE out of any of them. Apparently, in a world RICH WITH MAGIC only the Dewmer were smart enough to figure out how to make transparent glass...which is only evidenced by a few CUPS. That issue aside, this place SHOULD be FILLED with BRIGHT windows and MANY OUTDOOR BALCONIES that are accessible from the INTERIOR of the house! C'mon ZOS, impress me and take this feedback to heart and IMPROVE DAWNLIGHT PALACE BEFORE you release it for sale!

I'm always hesitant to buy the big houses because of furnishing caps. Houses as big as the 3 available means they'll always look empty. Or you make a room/area look real good while the rest is mostly left empty. Basically, the furnishing cap needs to be much, much higher!

Hello , my favortite new home i found in PTS is THE EASTWHILE SANCTUARY .
What i wish to see from future houses are many new ideas but i will reffer to some of them right now ..
    1. Perhaps is time to realease the restrictions around the houses and make bigger limits for those who still buying houses .
For example i dont understand what is the use to buy the Santuary if there is a limit at the water fall that kills you if you try to pass down the small green valley . Same example is for Clockwork city House that you cannot extend the limits around it . IMO it would be great if the owner can even escape the house with out using the door .
    2. Teleporters in houses .There should be teleporters in houses for the owner or the friends to use around tamriel from their homes .
    3. Owning one house should give smth in return in game . Example >Owning Red( EP) castle should give 2 h buff . If you also purshase the Blue(DC) Castle you should get one tempering Alloy each week . OR other rewards that would add as the owner keep buying houses . This will give the players a goal to buy more houses .
    4. Inventory was a great idea .I dont understand why it not connect with the bank and the crafting .
    5. Make us some dummies to put our Golden Armour on it and some weapon glass cases to put our Master or Maelstrom Weapons so ppl will have a goal to make golden items or master weapons.
I will end this post here so maybe some1 can read it .

The new rotating, drifting camera effect is horrible!! Please get rid of it before going live or at least give players a way to turn it off permanently. The effect will make housing even more time consuming and frustrating. When trying to place items in a house, the rotating camera causes items to be unintentionally misplaced. Out of the three homes currently on the PTS, which was your favorite?
Personally, I liked the Erstwhile Sanctuary best.

What was your favorite aspect of each home?
While the Erstwhile Sanctuary is really large, this is the first large home where the furnishing limit wouldn't bother me at all. The cave is really beautiful on its own so I wouldn't mind not putting a lot of things in many areas. And it has a dedicated library! I love libraries :) The only downside for me was that it's not possible to go down to the lake and grass area.

I also like the Dawnlight Palace looks wise, epspecially all the pools. Plus access to the sea! But here the furnishing cap is definately a drawback. It will just look empty, even when fully furnished.

The Coldharbour Surreal Estate I found rather underwhelming. I didn't have a real picture in mind, but the word "estate" let me to expect something with at least some kind of structures, not just a huge emtpy space. The one thing I liked about this home is that it's buyable for ingame gold, for a change.

Which was your favorite new furnishing?
I haven't looked at new furnishings, yet.

What do you wish to see from future homes and furnishings?
I wish to see more homes and furnishings buyable for gold and not just crown store only things. You create so many beautiful things for housing, which I won't ever use because of that :(
Also, as others have mentioned before, if there are homes like the Coldharbour Surreal Estate, it would be good to have more furnishing options for larger structures. Building a house out of lots of smaller stone blocks will make the furnishing limit even more of a problem.
Something else I would like to see are placeable fireplaces and fireplaces which count as cooking stations. The cooking stations we currently have in game don't really fit to most of the houses.

Do you have any other general feedback?
Would it be possible to make pets move through a house and give mounts inside houses some animation like the pets currently have? It would be really nice, if e.g. a lion mount could lie down, like Seafoam from the DB questline, instead of just standing where you placed it.

What do you wish to see from future homes and furnishings?

The number of Undaunted Busts and Undaunted Trophies that can be placed in a house is capped by the limit for "Collectable Furnishings".

I would really like if these could be moved out of this category cap and just become included with the general furnishing item cap.

The aim for this would be to allow the whole collection of both Undaunted Busts and Trophies to be displayed within a single house.

It is a significant achievement to collect all the Undaunted Busts and Trophies and to be limited in putting just a few out on display is in my view a bit sad.

Please consider this point when you are finalising the changes for this update 17

Out of the three homes currently on the PTS, which was your favorite?
Coldharbour Surreal Estate. While the other homes were gorgeous, I simply don't have any use for a palace or massive cave hideout. The Surreal Estate, however, can be used as a campground or blank slate for more out-there creations.

What was your favorite aspect of each home?
    Coldharbour Surreal Estate
    Two aspects tied for favorite:
    - The blank-slate of having an empty lot.
    - Its location in a Plane of Oblivion, making it an interesting set for magical adventures.

    Princely Dawnlight Palace
I adore just about everything to do with Hew's Bane architecture, and this is no exception.

    The Erstwhile Sanctuary
    Great roleplay value!

Which was your favorite new furnishing?
The new clothing mannequin will be perfect for my tailor's workshop.

What do you wish to see from future homes and furnishings?
I want to see more small homes! We keep getting all of these really cool residences, but they're all designed for characters who are fabulously wealthy. From most to least desired, what I want is:

Inn rooms in every major city!
Modest abodes in exotic locations like Orsinium and Hew's Bane!
Small hovels and abandoned caves for peasants and vagabonds!

I'm probably a minority in this, but the mansions just aren't for me. I'd hate to be left out of future homes because of this fact.

Do you have any other general feedback?
As others have mentioned, an increase in item limit would be fantastic. More homes that can be purchased for gold would be great, too--I appreciate that we've had a few homes that didn't require crowns, and tying an occasional home to things like holiday events is pretty neat.

Are you talking about random camera drift that goes in a circle? If so, my brother and I have been reporting this bug for a while, including in the bug section of forums. This occurs on live and hit me at a bad time last night in a dungeon :/

Oh GOD how can we turn this off???? @SilentRaven1972

I've had good luck getting it to stop by going into Settings > Video > Display Mode and making sure I'm in Fullscreen and not one of the Windowed modes. It's worked to stop it for me on three different PCs, but of course your mileage may vary.

I love that Rolis Hlaalu is carrying a master recipe for that fancy turtle statue now, but I feel like that's way too many style mats to be using. Clockwork City furnishings did it better, with one Tempered Brass needed for most things.

Out of the three homes currently on the PTS, which was your favorite?

I find warm, sunny places relaxing, so the Princely Dawnlight Palace was my favorite. I did like The Erstwhile Sanctuary with all the waterfalls, except that the music made me too tense to really enjoy the place.

What was your favorite aspect of each home?

    - Coldharbour Surreal Estate: I liked that the rocks and plants were furnishings and so could be moved or removed. I also liked the "hidden" lower platforms. Although it's a bit gloomy, it's great to have a big blank slate.

    - The Erstwhile Sanctuary: Unfortunately, the inaccessible open area with the stream, trees, and sunbeam coming in through the roof was my favorite part of this home. I don't understand why we can't go there since it is on the map. The waterfalls throughout the cave were a close second favorite though.

    - Princely Dawnlight Palace: My favorite aspect of this home was that it was how homes should be- every part that one would think should be accessible, was. Walls, towers, the roof... even a generous portion of the water could be built over and used. Inside, I could build right up into the dome. Invisible walls were just not an issue in this home as they are some others. My only minor gripes with this home were that there were slaughterfish in areas we could access, especially along the shoreline to the private beach. (Love that spot!) Everything inside the invisible walls should really be slaughterfish-free so that we can create swimming areas if we wish. The other minor gripe is that the towers should have ladders or some other built-in way to get up there. Yes, we can use planks, but those use precious slots and don't look, well, princely.

Which was your favorite new furnishing?

Aside from the storage chests and coffers, probably the butterflies. For some reason, they seemed to get disproportionately small as I moved away from them, though, and they end up looking more like moths rather quickly. The PTS price of 1000 Crowns seems steep for the impact they have unless you're right on top of them.

What do you wish to see from future homes and furnishings?

Homes: I'd like future homes to limit the use of invisible walls and insta-kill zones to areas clearly outside of what we "own". It's not always possible to determine these boundaries prior to purchase and it's so frustrating finding an attractive area of "our" home to actually be out-of-bounds.

Furnishings: I'd love three "containers" that look like crafting stations (woodworking, blacksmithing, and clothing) which we can put all our attuned crafting tables into. When used by the homeowner or visitors, each would function as a crafting station, allowing us to craft in any of the sets whose attuned tables are inside. This could free up lots of furnishing slots and let us tidy up our sprawling craft areas.

Do you have any other general feedback?

An option to select the music for each home (or even turn it off) could go a long way towards letting us set the mood we're trying to achieve in our version of that home. If I purchased The Erstwhile Sanctuary, I'd likely decorate it with lots of flowering trees and other plants to make a relaxing hideaway, but with that music it just wouldn't work.
