Is One Tamriel a Good Idea?

    Good for social reasons but I think it should be restricted to craglorn or DLC content at first not just for lore reasons but potential technical limitations. if it can pass this then we could consider it.

    1 every ounce of coding and quest would have to be changed which leads to a huge chance for mistakes to be made...
    2 grinding levels is already a pain in the ass without people crowding up places and where is the CP 10-110 zones will you have to buy DLC to get proper EXP at that level range @ZOS_JessicaFolsom ?
    3 the majority of zones cannot handle one faction spamming AOEs without some people DCing IE mournhold but all 3 no way
    4 same reason as 3 but NPCs take forever to load in high crowd areas giving them priority would be a quick fix to this issue though.
    5 some kill blank enemy quests or competitive grab blank quests are already a big enough pain with just your faction

    its already too easy and everyone knows it. how about making something H A R D ?!?!?!?!?

    Just read up on this One Tamriel thing. This seems like a big change that will either be heavily delayed or the vision will get modified later.

    If implemented as intended, this will no longer feel like an MMO. It may feel better...or it may feel worse. Impossible to tell at this point. There seems to be a lot to hash out.

    Oh having the game become a GW2 or WOW clone is just such a great idea. If I wanted to play GW2 or WOW I would be playing them not ESO.

    What is the point of removing any incentive to level at all and allowing people to have access to achievements that used to have to be worked for in both levels and doing what it takes to get them (Master Angler for example needing to gain access to silver and gold to get the fish in other alliances).

    To me open Tamreil just cheapens every achievement and cheapens the reasons to bother leveling.

    I feel though even though it is a good idea, it could have a negative impact on the immersion and roleplay of the game. There should be the option of default or One Tamriel. I would choose one tamriel, but Im sure others wouldnt.

    If we can fight for a different faction than the one our characters were rolled on then yes. Other than that, I couldn't care less about seeing all AD,DC and EP in the same instances.

    I believe it would be a great idea but for a new game.
    The lore of the current game was centered around the factions and the war between them. The "Any race, any faction" pack... Was... Problematic.
    The game is NOT well designed for the change. They would need to redo almost everything.

    Also i see no point in making it more TES like when it currently feel like such a collage of games right now with so many contradictory decisions like the removal of the DPS dummy because it "hurted immersion" but the introduction of the indicators that hurt it... Or the high customization of many small elements of the HUD, but the complete lack of it in big elements like health bars (you either have huge ass glowing bars of doom, or you don't have them at all; you MUST have a giant shield of light when you block, your bow WILL glow white when you make a heavy attack; your feet WILL glow green when you roll ETC)

    To be honest, for me it seems they have a lot of game designers with contradictory visions for the game.

    My gut is screaming noooo, but so far the majority like it and that makes me feel a little better about. So here's hoping that I'm wrong and my fear of change is getting the best of me.

    But I'm still changing my sub from 6 months to month by month so I can drop out quick.

    I wish it had fog, thats what makes ES game. All this effort for nothing when Skyrim's kind of fog could just rock it.

    They've addressed the single most complained aspect of the game since it's release.

    Takes really nothing away from the game as it is now, and adds a whole lot more options for players that want to take them. But those that don't can still play basically just as they are now.

    When it comes to MMOs, improvements that aid in the community being able to interact together and in a less restricted way are almost always positive.

Has anyone at ZOS tried to find the banker in wayrest on Friday night? The place is already a mosh pit and forget about area chat. You already have to stand around for 10 minutes waiting for respawns in crowded areas, please don't make it worse!!!!!

    It won't make it worse: this game have a slice system where if a certain treshold of people is reached in an instance, a new instance is created.

    Sounds like a good idea but I fear there will be no challenge when you have over 300cp, or they will make zones more challening and give characters a different boost when they are in different zones, which would be confusing...

    As a new player I feel like its a generally good thing. I've only got a level 10 stamplar but I'm already out leveling most of the quests since I'm doing them all, more so if I had done Orsinium. I'd rather not have to roll an alt to do everything in the game so overall its a big win for me.

    It's also cheap win for a developer to suddenly make all game content relevant again, hopefully it increases revenue so they can produce better new content. There does need to be more of an end-game it seems.

    I can see some of the downsides but overall it'll work if implemented well enough. I took a quick look at the SWTOR forums and despite a lot of early criticism it seems like its been adopted well. People are always quick to look negatively on change though.

    there are many problems at game that waiting to be solved...and one tamriel is not something that i will say awwww what a great idea...i do not care actually and that is not gonna make me buy ESO PLUS again...not yet not with that very easy announcment ...

    Most people have done all the story and have max level characters. New ones they make they'll just grind to 50 then carry on with pvp/end game pve.

    Roleplayers... Surely this won't make sense? The story will be out of order completely. Without cadwell doing his silver/gold thing and an (albeit weak) explanation as to why you suddenly kill your own factions soldiers, it'll completely break the story, if you're that way inclined.

    This is a new player move. ZOS is one of those companies. New member only, screw loyalty type of business.

    I am thinking what they are wanting to do is get rid of several copies of zones, that way they can improve preformance also, they still have three factions, we would have three starting points to start from, DC AD or EP but we could travel to other faction zones thus, going over there if we wished. I am sure the three factions woulds till be heavy influenced by faction but. We would not be bound by that faction, and only bound by it in pvp areas. I do think this is a good direction they are going with the game.

    Fantastic idea. This one has wanted this since the start and had hoped she would see it much sooner.

    Not just because khajiit wishes to meet many friends from other alliances - and celebrate Fishmas with them all - but because it will make the game less confusing for the new kittens. As it is you have one way of doing the things and then when you hit 50 it all changes - and then for the new zones it changes again!

    Khajiit admits it makes a bit of a mess of the main story but this one always felt that maybe the tale was told this way to justify the alliance situation - and not that the alliance situation came about to justify the story.

    So let our leaders squabble - we the people of Tamriel will just carry on as best we can - like we always have done and always will do. Trading, travelling and always searching for that perfect ball of yarn.

    Why level ? Why even have levels just make everyone level 50 and then tell people to play for champion points...

    I like the idea in a way, but honestly how many people actually need help with basic pve stuff?

    World bosses are so easy, dungeons already have cross alliance group finder, how can you justify the whole pvp element with this?

    I suggest redesigning the pvp then from scratch do something else there will be no patriotism.

    Also everyone who starts a new too will just go to Auridon.

    EP zones will be barren wastelands because no one likes that ( except the Rift & Eastmarch )

    Instead of literally CHANGING THE CURRENT GAME the whole time, why not ADD NEW FEATURES?

    Not 1 new weapon or skill line, not 1 new race, not 1 new Daedric Prince as an antagonist...

    But hey lets change what ain't broken...

    I am glad they are trying to increase lowbie population in pve zones, but in the current state of the game I'm afraid to say it just can't handle that many people in one instanced map.

    Look @ Wrothgar, lagfest in prime time. All the popular zones will be like that on a permanent basis if the populations get mixed up.

    So IF they do it ( which they will ) at least ensure that you upgrade your hardware ZOS so we still have smooth PvE performance.

    battle leveling and a care bear world instead. last time I've seen this in a game it has lead to its slow death.

    as if it would be difficult to get a char to 50 right now to play with people on another faction...

    as if it would be a good thing to remove leveling at all, which it almost is by battle leveling every f***** s*** everywhere (if you want that there are way better concepts than this s***)

    as if it would be a good thing to reinvent the whole f***** game over and over again instead bringing some balance and fixing broken things.

    It came too late for me and many others in my opinion:

    so many friends i'd have loved to play with on PS4 release, and been in a guild with, but because they were AD or DC and i was EP, we couldn't play together.

    This was one damaging aspect of the game. The surest way to get player retention is to get players to engage in the community, forums, guilds, running content together and having fun with friends, talking and voice chat. Any barriers to that such as faction separation in PvE not just in PvP, will negatively affect player retention.

    Best idea ever. I am not familiar with all of the Elder Scrolls games, but Oblivion and Skyrim certainly let you explore the world in any order you wanted, and the world scaled to you. The biggest complaint I hear from long-standing ES fans who come to ESO is that they can't explore the whole world, but are limited to the zones of one faction, and have to go through them in the order predetermined by ZOS.

    When One Tamriel is released, we won't be forced to choose an Alliance for PvE content. It'll be solely for PvP, so you can choose the Alliance where your friends play or as feels appropriate for the roleplay of your character. We won't have to make alts if we want to group with friends from other Alliances (if I read it correctly), and we won't be forced to make alts if we want to group with friends who have only just started playing the game.

    No longer will I have to make Daggerfall Covenant characters simply to get Glenumbra (the least fun zone in the game in my opinion) out of the way!
