I haven't bought any of these weapons packs but when I read the patch notes yesterday, I REALLY felt sorry for those who did. That's really not fair unless those who bought them get a refund. And if not, I hope all will hear about it and will just stop buying weapon packs from crownstore, as we can get for free in game.

If you choose to purchase the weapon packs in store, you can spend your event tickets on something else. if you choose to spend event tickets on them, well, you'll need to collect tickets per day, or purchase more event tickets from the store, if you want anything else offered by the impresario.

    See how that works?

Yes but you dont seem to understand the problem. The problem is that ZOS didnt let us as customers know that these packs, that we bought with real money would be possible to buy in game with tickets.
They don't have to. If you want something bad enough that you buy it from the crown store on the spot without hesitation, then how is that their fault?
You're basically angry because they've added a method of obtaining something in-game just because you've already bought it for money. I understand your frustration, but this is far from a scam.

Luckily, I didn't like those weapons enough to buy them (even though I usually use gold to buy store gifts).
But I will surely like some of them enough to buy them for event tickets <3 I also want to hope that someday Iceheart weapons will be available for event tickets - I only like swords from that style, and 2500 crowns/their gold equivalent was too high for just swords.

Given that a lot of the packs I really just wanted one or two weapons "I dont play with 2H weapons" this is a bit anoying, but we got these packs often almost a year before they are up for event tickets. The same thing has happend to many of the pets / mounts that comes wih DLC purchases, which for a lot of people is he sole reason they bought the DLC. some came for free during he undaunted event some went into crown crates "at least almost identical copies". Given that we have seen this happend to DLC pets something we thought was exclusive. It can't come as a suprise that they would release this for tickets to anyone. We know that ZOS consider event tickets a crown store"ish" currency.

In patch note 5.0.1 it says there will be a Dungeon Event where we will be able to get the shoulders and masks from thier respective chests and dungeon bosses. But it also says the following:

"Shadowrend, Ilambris, Molag Kena, and Grothdarr style pages for mask, shoulders, and weapons will also be available from the Impresario during the event, for Event Tickets. Earn your tickets during the event and you can complete your look with the Impresario’s offerings."

The weapons from the Weapon Packs we bought in the Crown Store with REAL MONEY is possible to buy with tickets, a in game currency. This is not right, there was no information that the Weapons Packs would be avaible with a in game currency, something which if I'd known I would never have bought the Weapon Packs with REAL MONEY. Its even worse, because, and I think it was the case for many that did buy the Weapon Packs, I just wanted 1 of the weapons in the pack.

I created a ticket about this, but I am also making a forum post about it so that ZOS notices and sees that this is not the sway to creat a loyal costumer and devoted player, things that are Crown Store exclusive should remain that way.
ZOS I want my money back, and for you to respect me as a costumer in the future.

If you agree that this is a scam, simply write "I want my money back ZOS"

Just a quick FYI, you paid for a license to buy a license. When buying Crowns, ZoS explains you don't own the currency but "rent" a license to use it.

Given the lengthy terms of service we have to agree to before we start playing the game (I recently installed on a different machine so this is fresh in my mind!) scammed is probably a harsh word. I would bet that this type of change is covered, although I certainly don't have it memorized.

However I would say that this does feel a little like a weird bait and switch with the information we have so far, and there is nothing wrong with the OP raising this on the forums so ZOS can get various viewpoints.

I am in a place in my life where it is often easier to buy things than it is to grind for them in game. Time is my most precious resource - I work a lot. I have purchased several weapon packs and I do not begrudge anyone the opportunity to obtain the skins through in game currency. To me it is no different than the fact that some houses are available with either gold or crowns.

What I don't like about this is the weapons being separated out, as OP states, so that one could now get with in-game currency just a piece of something that was offered previously as a single item. In our game world, it has been firmly established that the weapon packs are packs. And, it's not like adding them in-game adds any value or fun for those of us that have purchased the packs, because we have no "collection" to finish.

It is hinted in this thread by a few people that those of us who buy Crowns are super privileged or something, and we get what we deserve for using the Crown Store at all. I'm here to tell you that we all lose when the rules are changed like this. If the weapons can be obtained individually through a limited, in game currency, they should be purchasable individually through the Crown Store too. I'm trying very hard to squeeze out as many event tickets as possible but I miss some days. Sometimes I don't have time to even log in for 5 min. Obtaining the in game currency is not a cakewalk for me, and I think it's a real bummer that these skins are being offered ONLY for event tickets with no warning, and that I can't just buy a single skin if I want instead. For me, I'd rather just buy the skin, instead of waste precious tickets on it, but to buy the skin you have to buy the whole pack.

Lastly, event tickets were on sale for a limited time in the Crown Store, but we can't see into the future and I couldn't have possibly planned to stock up to buy "just that one skin" since this hadn't been announced yet.

I would agree that I can see ZOS giving a refund if one asks nicely, and it may be that the weapon skins will appear as individual Crown Store purchases, or the ability to purchase event tickets in the Crown Store will return in time, but right now, with the info we have, it sure is too bad that people who possibly agonized over what to get in the Crown Store, are thrifty but really liked that one bow or staff, purchased the whole pack only to have individual items be reintroduced for a rare, somewhat limited time in game currency ONLY. The issue isn't that these items are now going to be available "for free," the issue is that these items are being broken up in a more accessible way, without notice, when many in good faith purchased the items assuming that they would always only be available in packs since the "Monster Set" rules have been firmly established for a while now. It feels underhanded. I literally would rather the packs be on sale for 50% or be given away for free, as packs, for some kind of promotion. <shrug> But that's just me.

@peacenote No one says anything about being super privileged -- I'm over a certain age, and I have less time for fun than I would like; obligations like work and family have a greater weight than a video game, so I too have time against me. I also pay for things I don't want to grind; that's my personal solution... that isn't coming from a place of privilege, but a position of choice. If I didn't have the real world money, or otherwise couldn't afford to do so, I would make a different choice.

That said, this is not bait and switch -- separating out the 'packs' into individual pages isn't screwing anyone who purchased the pack anymore than players buying just the chest of a motif from guild store vs players buying the whole thing from crown store. I bought the Sellistrix pack for just the staff ~ madness! ~ but I wouldn't feel scammed because someone else had the opportunity to pickup just that page or any other.

So, no -- I don't believe there is any sense of privilege in those calling scam; if anything it's a weird sense of buyer's remorse or misplaced FOMO.

since a lot of people dont seem to know... to OP doesnt remember that the monster helm and shoulder ARE NOT FROM THE CROWN STORE but from the ingame undaunted chest/dungeon farm...and if u do a normal rotation since its 1 of each type per month...it would take roughly 2+ years to have a comeback loop...so yeah sure...its nice to have them coming in to the impresario...frankly I like the idea since I dont care about indriks after I got the 1st one...so at least now I can use them on something that I might use...oh and in case the OP meant ingame gold...well if u afforded to spend 300k/page then u can afford to make them back in no time :3

What you're experiencing is hyperbolic discounting and relative deprivation. It's a play on perceived, artificial 'need' that we choose to fulfil or not. Get your reward now or later -- now will always initially feel more valuable than later, even if holding equal or less actual worth. Others seeing that reward want the same or similar. Provision of later ensures a new cycle.

When they made event tickets obtainable in CS, that was the day when they decided to kill the last part of the events' holiday spirit.
Now I'm not even surprised that they also decided to make weapon style pages obtainable with tickets. I actually not getting surprised by anything ZOS does lately. For me, the game is just falling downstairs because of stupid decisions. And I'm glad I stopped spending money in the game long before all this mess got started.
One of the two of us definitely has gone mad. It only remains to define whether this one is the whole world or just me.

    I agree with this. :)

I would just like to see consistent logic such that if the weapon skins were purchasable with crowns as a pack, that they can be purchasable with crowns individually, as well as be available at the Impresario.

Generally, I'm a fan of methods that make things more broadly and easily available so we do have choices. Impresario is more accessible than a two year rotation. Impresario is not necessarily more accessible and easy than crowns for all of us, and that is my point, really. I don't need my shiny, sparkly, cosmetic things to be special... give people lots of ways to access them, rather than make it more difficult. Unless the weapon skins make a return to the Crown Store, either discounted or up for sale individually, or the event tickets go back on sale, from my perspective the opposite is happening.

I'm pro gems for crown crates (only way they are acceptable to me). I'm pro transmute crystals. I'm pro motifs and homes being available in Crown Store and in game. I'm pro level up rewards and Twitch drops. I'm pro chapters or Any Race, Any Alliance, or any other longtime game feature being rolled into base game for the good of the community. I'm a big fan of the new method of trial gear where "perfect" is not a game breaker and otherwise the sets can be farmed in a normal trial.

I'm anti Radiant Apex Mounts (although I don't begrudge anyone who is lucky enough to get one). I'm anti flash sales where homes are limited time and only come around once a year.

I think and hope I'm being consistent in my logic here. I am against weapon skins being split out individually and being made available ONLY via a currency that is, for some portions of the community, more difficult to obtain. If this is the road we're going to go down, let us buy them individually too, please! OR allow them to be trade-able.

I know this probably won't be the popular opinion but I see a lot of people acting like this was some kind of grand, pre-planned scam when it most likely wasn't anything like that. Yes, they released them in packs, only in the crown store at first. It's possible that was the original plan but now maybe they didn't sell well (I know I don't see many people with them) , or people complained about buying a whole pack for one item they wanted, or they were just brainstorming what new reward they could give out for a dungeon event and here you are, they thought of something that A. fits with the dungeon event and B. requires little development time since they already had created them. And of course, it make marketing happy because some people will buy tickets to get them , since they have created a deficit for how many tickets you need to earn every thing available for them vs how many you can actually collect so it will increase sales as well in the end I'm sure.

    __________________________Backstories:_________________________

Ras Kalik the Vestige, a renown Redguard warrior; He has been blessed to save Tamriel from Molag Bal’s destructive Planemeld while reuniting the Five Companions. His further accomplishments after defeating Molag Bal, has been to stop the destruction of Morrowind, the Clockwork City, return order to the isle of Summerset and create a new king in Wrothgar and a queen in Elsywer. These events have made him a living legend and continue to lead him into new adventures throughout Tamriel, as well as into the hearts of many ladies including the Elf Queen, Aryenn. Over many years of adventurous travels, Ras Kalik had become a loner, until he re-visited his homeland of Alik'r.

Alik'r and it's cities were overrun by the undead Ra-Netu and therefore he made an allegiance with Alik'r's own Ash'abah tribe. These Ash'abah with his help, cleansed the city of Sentinel in Alik'r desert and it's surrounding areas of the undead brought to life by the Withered Hand. After rescuing Sentinel from the undead zombies, King Fahara’jad’s personal bodyguard the Goliath of Hammerfell, who was given this name by Imperials in the region; was asked to assist the tribe after learning of the defeat of the Withered Hand to the Ash'abah. Kalik promised Goliath he would task him with fighting living enemies on the battlefield if he so desired. Goliath being a Yokudan warrior wields a massive sword in respect to the Ansei, a gift given by the Imperial, Cinan Tharn. Not many soldiers are able to wield double two handed weapons, but Goliath loves to get up and personal in a fight, so he also carries a giant maul, both weapons laced with magical flames.

Jux Blackheart is a master thief that masquerades as a Bard at the Sisters of the Sands inn, with his younger sidekick Lucky Hunch for pilfering and gambling during this time. Jux was known to infiltrate any towns bank vault he came across and even delved into Ayelid ruins without detection. Kalik can vividly recall the night he met the famed thief. Jux found himself rummaging thru a slightly inebriated Kalik’s pocket for too long, on a full-mooned night and because of his greed and the glimmer of his golden armor in the moonlight. He lost his left pinky fingertip as a lesson! But in return, he gained a new friend, as it was his first time since a child being caught red-handed...

Upon arrival back in the Alik'r after many moons of adventuring, Ras Kalik ventures to Bergama. Visiting The Winking Jackal, he runs into Jux Blackheart, who introduces him to the coin game Crowns vs Forebearers (Heads vs Tails) and Golden Dwemer (RBG).... Jux constantly takes gold from the unfortunate thru theft or gambling, his biggest gambling victim is actually his partner in crime known as Lucky Hunch the Gambler. Lucky doesn't mind losing any gold coins to Jux... as Jux saved him from Altmer slavers in Summerset, by stealing a key and sending him on a boat to the mainland years prior. Lucky spent years in slavery with Khajiits in Summerset and picked up the art of subterfuge, using illusion magic disguises and stealing there.

Kaotik Von’Daemon an outcast, and a half-caste between a Breton mother and a Redguard father. Kaotik become a pariah due to his conjuration of Daedra pets. He was taught healing magic during his childhood years by his Breton mother. His father due to Redguard customs exiled him from the desert, sending him by wagon caravan to be a soldier in the war in Cyrodiil. He happened to meet Kalik while traveling from Alik'r, during this long caravan ride the caravan he was in was ambushed in Bangkorai by a group of bandits. Kalik by chance was also traveling thru this area on his Auridon Warhorse (which was bestowed to him by his friend, Darien Gautier). During this ambush, Kalik was able to rescue five hostages from the bandits. Kaotik was the first rescued, and Ras Kalik also recruited him to be in the Ash'abah tribe. These core Ash'abah tribesmen may never be seen together in travel as they partake in their own adventures but they always know what each other is doing; as they frequent a hideout in northern Bankorai. Their hideout an old Orc castle ruin, is kept watch by Nuzhimeh and she passes messages written between them, and frequently they also enjoy her company and her bed.

The other men rescued were a Dunmer banker, an Imperial mercenary and two other soldiers, an Imperial and a Breton Knight, stating proudly he was an Akavir descendent. One of the Imperials, Cinan, claimed to be related to Abnur Tharn the Battlemage of the Imperial Elder Council (One of Ras Kalik's mentors in the Five Companions). Cinan Tharn was really Abnur's drunkard treasure hunting illegitimate son. He was caught smuggling artifacts out of the Ayleid ruins in Cyrodiil and the elder of the two Imperials was Tyrus Septim a retired Imperial navy battle-mage (now a Lycan mercenary living in the city of Rimmen) and guard to the Tharn family. As much as Abnur Tharn hated his half-sister Euraxia, he dislikes his bas†ard son Cinan more. Tyrus now a ruffian and privateer had been paid by Abnur Tharn to watch over Cinan as much as possible. Cinan Tharn a drunkard, loves to drink at least a quarter barrel of Nord mead before he raids various delves and dungeons for relics to sell on the black market. Cinan also plans to one day, run an illegal gambling ring... which he thinks will net him more gold for his wares.

The Dunmer captive shackled to the Imperials looked familiar to Kalik from his time in Morrowind.... and he recognized him as Tythis Andromo a House Telvanni slave-owner and banker from Vvardenfell. During a rough interrogation to Tythis, Ras Kalik learnt why the bandits accosted him. The racist Dunmer was providing slaves as soldiers for the Three Banner War. The bandits were trying to negotiate a lucrative ransom for Andromo and the Imperials.... Kalik did not need any of this gold and he could never set Tythis free as he did with the two Imperial soldiers. His past involvement with slavery and war crimes, made Kalik's blood boil. He chose not to execute Tythis, as he figured the worse punishment for this former rich and opulent slave owner, is to now be an imprisoned servant for Ras Kalik and the tribe.

Herzog Zwei the Genesis a reknown Imperial/Akavirri battle-mage. His roots going back to Akavir through his mother’s bloodline. (His mother is descended from the Akaviri, through Versidue-Shae, and his Imperial father met her in Hakoshae, while traveling) Herzog earned the nickname "the Genesis" from his father as a child, as he was his mother's first born child, and last, as she tragically died in child-birth.

Herzog was seeking to purchase an artifact from Cinan Tharn, before their capture and was meeting Tyrus while in Rimmen, who introduced him to Cinan. This artifact being the Ayelid artifact; the sword Sinweaver. After their rescue and the exchange of gold to Cinan for the sword he decided to slip away before Ras Kalik could question who he was, and why the Akavir descendant really wanted that sword. Herzog was headed to Nagastani — An Ayleid ruin in eastern Cyrodiil. He had read in scrolls that the Sword would give him magical powers to meet his mothers spirit, if he performed an Ayleid ritual at an old shrine hidden there. Equipped with the artifact sword, he was off to start his own adventure but Ras Kalik, did indeed notice the sword however and instead sent a letter to Jux Blackheart (whom also was interested in Ayleid treasures), to attempt to find Herzog and acquire the sword. (*Azani Blackheart in Elder Scroll's Oblivion is Jux's descendant some 747 years later)

And so the Redguard, Imperial and Akaviri men parted ways ... While Ras Kalik went off to Elsweyr to encounter the latest threat to Tamriel, with Abnur Tharn and Sai Sahan - - DRAGONS!! Little did Ras Kalik know a few people were awaiting him in Senchal besides Sai. A necromancer survived his attack on the Withered Hand, while in Alik'r. The necromancer known as Auriek Siet'ka is also following him to the land of the Khajiits and Cacique the Sage of Ius a Shaman mystic who has become attuned spiritually with Tu'whacca (a Redguard God) and Ius (the Animal God), after being burned severely by the escaped dragons in Elsywer, is awaiting his arrival also. Aurik is a soldier of the Daggerfall Covenant that was introduced to necromancy while in the military, even though this magicka art is not spoken of openly by most of the Military leaders. He came to Alik'r and worked with the Withered Hand before Ras Kalik intervened on their plans. After the defeat of the Withered Hand, he aligned with the Worm Cult, and is constantly adapting and perfecting his necromantic arts.

After his journey to Rimmen, Kalik heads south to Senchal, in the southern regions of Elyswer. This new adventure will also put him on a path to meet a strange Redguard man. The stranger which was infected with an untreated Peyrite disease and also was the exiled from the Order of the New Moon cult, due to his sickness. He originally joined the cult to worship Laatvulon, the green dragon, mistakenly thinking it was the Daedric prince Peyrite. This confused and suffering cultist is known as Tsar al-Bomba and he is on a path to spread the disease. He was originally infected in Orccrest while recruiting members there. Can Ras Kalik and the shaman Cacique cure this poor soul, only time will tell. Little does Tsar al-Bomba know, that his infection is tied to Vampirism, and eventually the desire for blood will take over his mind. Senchal also offers Kalik his latest love interest... Aeliah. Whom he fondly led thru battles with the Dragonguard.

After the trek thru the heat, tropical and desert climate of Northern and Southern Elyswer, Ras Kalik heads north to the cold mountain range of Skyrim. His companion friend Lyris beckons for him with a letter sent by crow...

Movárth Piquine - a former vampire hunter (now infected), within the Fighter's Guild (and a secretive necromancer) was in Skyrim working with the Morthaal Guard. On a patrol mission he was caught in Frewien's ice curse outside of Morthaal with the frozen undead. Movárth's vampiric infection kept him from becoming an undead minion to the curse. He was able to use necromantic ice-magic to encase himself safely until he was freed with Freiwen, when the Vestige Ras Kalik broke the curse.

Uri Ice-Heart - brother of Urfon Ice-Heart. The twin sons of Atli and Oljourn Ice-Heart. The Ice-Heart family are originally from Markarth but now reside on the Jerall Mountain range near Cyrodiil, with their younger sister Araki. The twins had joined the Winterborn Reachmen while living in Markarth. Urfon pushed west to Orsinium with the Winterborn Clan, leaving his family behind. Uri stayed behind with his parents and sister to live in the family cabin for safety, avoiding the Vampire plague infiltrating the Reach. After news reaches him and he hears of Urfon's death... Uri leaves and heads home and is seeking vengeance. Meanwhile, his sister has also moved on to Windhelm to join the Fighter's guild. He will visit his sister, once before going to seek vengeance and she will craft him armor mixed with ice, called Stalhrim armor. Uri fearing death, after his brother's passing, falls victim to the convincing talk of Movárth at a Nordic tavern, and will also becomes a vampire.

I would never want OP as a customer.

OP's rule is I can never introduce a new idea for my company without fear of OP feeling scammed and ranting in public.

I'd fire OP, return OP's money in pennies, throw OP out of my store, and file a trespass warning against OP with the local police.

Nobody wants or needs a customer with OP's attitude. There are nearly 8 billion other potential customers on the planet.

Hasn't that been an ongoing request of these forums?

Less crown stuff; more in-game stuff?

Its almost like they listened ...

I am 99.99999% certain this is exactly correct and exactly what happened. And this is exactly what's annoying about it.

Event tickets started as a way to give the player base special mounts that could be obtained not through crowns or extremely difficult content. It worked, and many were happy with it. Now the event ticket system is evolving into something else entirely... you don't know what's going to be available, you don't know when it's going to be available, you don't know if it's going to be exclusive, and it's very difficult to plan and prioritize because you can only hold 12 tickets at once. To me it's worse than the crown store because now I feel the pressure of doing daily, boring tasks just in case something shows up there exclusively. Take my money, but stop wasting my time.

At least be upfront about it. "We've decided to break out the weapon skin packs to make them more accessible. They're going to be available through this event and may return to the Crown Store or as rare dungeon drops in the future." Or whatever.
My #1 wish for ESO Today: Decouple achievements from character progress and tracking.

Think the only true exclusives in game will be the Imagkin monkey and the past rewards from subbing

Serious question, did they advertise the weapons as "crown store exclusives" or did they advertise them as "purchased in the crown store"?
