PvP after Spell and Ebony nuke

First of all this is my personal opinion, some might agree, some might disagree.

Anyway, nuking the Spell and Ebony campaigns on PC EU was a mistake. To some extent I agree Spell was a dead campaign, but most definitely Ebony population was on the rise. During the day Ebony was mostly empty, but in the evening it was alive. Hosting some nice battles, sieges, etc ...

Now we are left with 3 options:

- Azura (not really tempting for a lot of players)
- Trueflame (if you don't queue before 19:00 CET you'll be in 100+ queue)
- Haderus (resource campaign)

I will focus only on TF and Haderus. TF is nice, but the queue is just too long, and it gets boring waiting more than an hour to be ported there. And then there is lag. Even after nuking two other standard campaigns the lag is still there. I was expecting performance to get better. But the real turn-off is the long waiting queue. I can live with blue/yellow/red trains, they are part of every pvp, but the queue and the lag are just horrible.
Then there is Haderus: I'm sorry, but resource campaign is just plain stupid. Flipping resources over and over is just not pvp. Often the groups taking resources around same keep are avoiding each other. Is this pvp? Am I missing something?

What can ZoS do? I see at least 3 possible solutions:

- Bring Ebony back as it was
- Increase population cap in Trueflame
- Change Haderus to standard campaign

Bottom line is PC EU platform needs more than one standard campaign. Trueflame is just not big enough for all players and Haderus is no fun at all.

I totally agree with you. It doesn't make any sense leaving PC EU with only one 30-day standard campaign.

*sigh* so sick and tired running around resources to kill enemy players.....

I came expecting a crying thread but this is actually a really well written and thought out thread, so thank you OP.

I personally feel they should review the rules for campaigns again and make all the campaigns resources/outposts hold no points to keep the focus on keeps/scrolls only.

Make resources part of the capture mechanics or more beneficial to hold but have the main focus points (keeps and scrolls) be the points deciders.

Maybe something like in order to take the flags in a keep you have to hold 2/3 resource flags or something, this would split groups up (a bit), keep resources meaningful and make sieges longer and more tactical.

Small gang and gank groups can focus resources whilst the big groups battle in the keep.

100 % agree. The last few weeks have been so awesome on Ebony and the focus of the campaign was great. Dominance of the map, and we ended up with some great players on all three sides causing some epic battles in Cyrodiil and imperial city. I really miss those guys who I guess chose the Truflame queue whereas w chose haderus in order to be able to play. Like OP I am not into the Non CP campaign so is not an option (go read those thousands of threads on that subject of you want. Not for this thread).

The other night on Haderus EU We spent over an hour chasing some blues between Roebeck farm and mine because they would take the resource and sneak to the other and take it when everyone left then back to the other. That was all they were interested in because 2k AP per resource flip. As it's a home keep we couldn't afford to let them take the resources as is a critical AD keep so we couldn't just leave them.

That's not fun. Rather put those big AP gains on IC flags (maybe they are already ?) Where it is contained and the environment lends itself to that style of play with small groups jostling for the flags constantly. Then take it away from resources.

I have no problem with Ebony gone if they give us a viable alternative but Haderus is not that. It is not really large scale PVP.

The 7 day v 30 is not even an issue. I just want to be fighting for keeps and dominance of the map as intended.

I don't even mind AP farmers in big destro ultimate zergs running in and out of Alessia bridge because they are doing it by engaging in battle with other players who choose to engage back but It's the culture of haderus though to avoid conflict as much as possible but still farm AP.

I think haderus is currently visited very well. Heard rumors that bleakers is being contested by role players who share 6k ap ticks.

They should have removed Haderus instead of Ebony.
It's nice that they tried new scoring and stuff, but it's just not working. A normal 30 day campaign would help much more to spread people out.

I agree with OP , there needs to be another 30 day normal campaign with Champion Points. Removing both was a mistake in my opinion.

Screw the rulesets then. You can PvP like normal on Haderus...

I would be curious to see how having a pair of 30 day campaigns instead of a 30 and a 7 would go, though. Rewards would be once a month, which I bet some people wouldn't prefer.

Only played twice this update but played both Azura and TF. Both were actually quite good, the only time there was lag was when either Exigo's group or Zerg Squad turned up. They were literally the only cause of lag that I experienced, maybe there is less server strain?

I think it was a good idea to get rid of 2 (most of the time, dead) campaigns. I've only ever tried Haderus once, it was garbage, I would have rather that got the axe than Ebony Blade but there's no point having 2 identical campaigns so ZOS did the right thing.

And about Haderus, I do totally agree with you, it's complete crap. But standard campaign is just too crowded. We do need another standard campaign, so the people who don't want to wait in stupid queue or for their personal reasons don't want to roll toon in other alliance (as @Sharee suggested) can pvp. I'm pretty sure something can be worked out, ...

EP has queues just as long.

Put your hand up if you remember loooong queues many moons ago. We complained then, nothing happened, doubt anything will now.

My solution is queue, then go and do something less boring instead! (There's a reference for anyone over 40... )

EP has queues just as long.

I went on my EP yday during prime time, queue of 20 which lasted like 2 minutes.

EP queue is not as long as AD lol

Welcome to NA PC, where in reality you get to choose between two servers because zose doesn't know how to balance their populations, unless you really really want to be a *** and optimize your build to massacre potatoes in Azuras.

Yes ball groups cause a massive amount of lag, actual server lag that causes a delay on your attacks, skills etc. Whilst zergs generally just strain your PC and can cause poor framerate, whilst annoying it's far less frustrating than not being able to play because your skills don't work when you want them to.

Xv1er? It's open world PvP with keeps to capture. Guess what, this Xv1er also XvX's, 2vX's, 4vX's and if they're really bad 1vX's. Whatever situation I fall in I'm gonna fight for my alliance. What are you salty about @KisoValley? I recall you outnumbering me quite a few times, should I hold a grudge against you? Is it even possible to out number your guild? I highly doubt I've ever killed you out nubmered tbh. And I don't Xv1 people unless it's legendary mage, meqatron or waseem (unless someone has been Xv1ing me all evening, like werner likes to do).

I don't hold a grudge against you, I'm just merely stating that you, who is well known as a Xv1er (who chases people cross map) as well as play with a certain DC guild who roll with a lot more numbers than a mere zerg does, don't have the right to comment on who causes and doesn't cause lag lol.

Our largest guild group is 12 but we are 4-6 most nights so Zerg Squad do actually outnumber us most of the time. We get a LOT of followers though naturally. It'll be me you see at the front of a zerg because that's where I'm most effective, getting troops to push.

I don't ever recall chasing someone across the map though. I think you're mistaken, I chase people away though sure. I don't want another faction fighting on our territory picking us off or should I just let you do that? Pick off the incoming DC so you can wipe us from behind like AD like to do at Chalman?

1000% agree ! I dont understand how they could close both campaings its crazy ! Now you can not simply pvp if you dont get on before the evening. Bring back ebony blade that would be the sound thing to do.
