If they hadnt nerfed where u go around stealing void tier mats and deconning them to get a stack of it in about 5-10 minutes, people wouldnt of complained about having to use them in writs. Now doing this only gives u 1 material per decon where it use to give u up to around 7 per decon. This nerf ultimately led to the problem we face now, and doing writs has now become inefficient to all who relied on it for gold and materials.

So this would mean prices should then rise for all materials. Perhaps as intended? Honestly if this increases prices then I will kinda like this change. A lot of the cp160 mats are too cheap in my opinion, kinda miss the random mats from the Orsinium days in some ways.

Some good info here. Not sure I could do 12 characters a day, I'd go nuts.Before the update i was doing all 6 writs every day for months straight, on 12 characters, who all have maxed professions. I have always kept a book full of notes on my numbers for profits and costs and what price i need to buy mats at to make writs a viable, realistic "chore" worth doing everyday when i log in. With the the system i used i was able to do the 72 writs on my account in 45 minutes. It would then take me another 20 minutes to collect all the surveys. I was making a lot of gold and a positive numbers in 150-160 mats while having fun doing it, cause of such the nice profit writs gave. When the update hit i stopped doing them cause of the bugged surveys that were still giving cp140-150 mats. Once that was fixed i did a week straight of writs to see what my new numbers were like. I came to the conclusion that only blacksmithing is not worth doing in its current state. I also don't make as much profit as i was pre update but its still a net positive amount of gold and nice chunk of legendary mats. I personally stopped doing them all though. The profit margin is now to low for what i consider worth my time, but still might be worth it for others.

But looking at all the gold mats you are getting, looks worth it to me.
You got 34 temps in a week, price on xbox is 17k X 34 = 578,000 say 500k after tax. Now assume you buy your ingots 200 for 10k. Seems very profitable.
Not factoring all the decons you get from dungeons etc.

On average that is (7k*3+7k*2)/2 = 17.5k gold. I also earn 600*8 = 4.8k for quest. I spent about 5 mins per toon doing these writs so that is 40 mins. Cost of 200 ingots =55*200 = 11k
Case 1 summary : 40 mins time spent, earned about 22.3k-11k = 11.3k (assuming i broke even on mats).

This is wrong - self-farmed materials are not free at all - if you use them for writs, they cost you that, what you could have earned by selling them instead of using them in writs - their market value are your calculatoric costs.

So why would I ever do a writ..........If I farm, that's all the more reason NOT to do writs lol cos I will have a healthy supply of tempers just from ore refining. I can see the light in doing writs if you cannot farm and just rely on ingots from decon, but if you DO farm, you SHOULDNT be doing writs....
