    Be neutered.
    With a hammer.
    BIG hammer.
    No anesthesia.
Thrown in a muddy, dark cellar.
And perma banned, just for the heck of it.

And perma banned for the heck of it.

And be glad I do not feel sadistic at the moment. :(

I chose option two: A ZOS employee should talk to them and ask them to not do it again, then unban them, give them a second change

I am fine with people having second chances after a temp ban and a strike system against accounts. However this needs to be communicated by ZOS and they also need to take away any gain the player made whilst cheating.

The accounts (and owners) also need to have a clear mark against them and this to be conveyed that should they abuse again in any way the ban will be permanent.

This I disagree with. They shouldn't have to give out cookies and gold stars to players who are playing the way they're meant to, their reward is that they enjoy the game and have a fair game to play on.

If you focus on a clear and strict punishment system then you'll not only remove cheaters/exploiters but also send a clear message to anyone considering it that their accounts could be lost doing so.

It would be a thorn in the side of the hackers for sure.
They get banned, AND the rest gets rewarded.

Win win situation if you ask me.

Why ZoS should waist human resources for this? Just perma ban and we can go on.

I'd vote for Permaban as I really hate hackers, but I would hate for someone who isn't hacking to get somehow caught up in a mass ban.

However, I don't play the stupid "3 strikes" BS. You get one shot at redemption.

If they really hacked a server, they should be charged with breaking a crime. Seems like it would be in par with breaking an entry.

As more people wrote it on the forum here, there is a third party software, that enables people who know how to use it to gain unfair advantages in the game (like infinite ultimate for example, or god mode).

    read more about it here:

Generally because you want to catch the people who are still passionate about the game or don't know better. There are a number of blog entries and videos from CCP Games showing the numbers who turned around after warnings/bans.

The thing is you do actually want to retain your players but you want to show them that cheating and abuse is not acceptable within the game. If ZOS manage to fix their detection systems and start regular and strict enforcement of exploitation then a two strike system isn't a bad thing.

Jail. Seriously, if someone hacks the server (which IS what you said) it is a violation of state and federal law. Fines, imprisonment. Running exploits is one thing but you do not want to become the subject of an investigation for illegal access (including exceeding approved access) to a server.

Hey folks, as detailed here, these threads are attracting a lot of problems. For the moment, we are locking these threads to give the topic a chance to cool down. We will be re-opening that thread, or posting a new one, in the future so discussion can resume. We will hopefully have more information to share at that time.
