    Many rebalancing elements plus removal of vet ranks.

    If you also raise cap, makes assessing impact of all this on play balance that much harder.

    I am well over cp cap and AGREE with decision to NOT raise cap with DB until the smoke clears.

    I do not see logical connection with the removing Vet Ranks in this patch, and increase CP cap.

    ZOS has already stated why they are not raising the cap this time. There are many new elements to the game such as new stamina based changes, the addition of poisons, the removal of VR ranks, and other balance changes. They want to see how these work together first before adding more changes such as raising the CP cap. Believe me, I would like to see the cap raised myself, but I understand why they didn't.

    On one hand I hate it that Im at the CP cap for a while now and dont get any stronger when I see the message that I received a CP.

    At the other hand I dont want to beat players in pvp just because I have more CP than them, this very long 501 CP cap will reduce the CP gap between players which is a good thing.

    Not sure i understand your post.

    But i dont see ESO giving up players anymore than you see gaining new bc neither of use sees any actual figures on logins, subs etc. All we see are our own anecdotal experiences in game, assuming you actually play, and what people say on the internet.

    Neither of those provide reliable metrics.

    But my point still stands.

    Unless they choose to do cap changes not at same time as DLC release... like this time may be an indication of.

    They said their data does not show enough people at the CP cap to justify increasing it more.

    I believe them. It's likely some longtime players (that had a lot of CP) have moved on from the game to BDO or Paragon and have been replaced by folks who are just beginning.
    Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

    CP have a permanent cap now at 100 per branch. Likely about 1/3 of the branches wont provide any real gain to a given character with which third varying by char.

    Option to avoid creep include:
    Add more branches*
    Allow cp to be spent as a currency.
    Likely others

    * with diminishing returns adding more branches may escalate power creep as spending 10 cp on ten different but beneficial branchs is likely better than spending100 in one even if no single metric is better.

    Do you really want all the gear that ZOS finally updated to V16/CP160 to be useless again? Really? Do you really want another tier of materials to farm?

    Do you even remember how terrible the Imperial City DLC was when it was the ONLY place to get new gear and we only had THREE endgame jewelry sets?


    That horror is returning one day. Just not today. When they raise level cap, and make all of our gear and monster sets worthless again, well, hopefully I will have a new game to play by then.

    I can buy the "let the dust settle" argument for no cap increase. I don't like it, but it makes some sense. The above makes no sense. What does crafting mats have to do with CP levels? We already know that top tier mats unlock at CP160, and zos has said they will stay there. Remember when v17 and v18 mats were found in the code for Wrothgar? They were never released in the game. Doesn't mean they won't be, but following the 10CP for 1 vet level progression, these mats would unlock way below the current cap if they were introduced. Lucy, you got some 'splainin to do.

    More than likely it won't go up for a long while, it depends on how many tiers they plan to increase with each new major update.

    Let's just say they add 120 CP worth of gear every year. By June of 2017 we'll be up to 280 CP, in 2018 we'll have 400 CP, we wont have to raise the CP cap until the second quarter of 2019.

    I hope for pvp they never increase the cap (like 501 cap added to battle spirit so PVErs can still progress). 1v1 battles last for eternity already and makes cheese builds even cheesier.

    I don't think this matters. I think as long as there will be new players in the game's life, that there will always always be someone far behind the curve. Unless they started giving out the cap amount or close to it for every single new account created. This was the fear since it was announced. Players getting picked over others because of abilities tied into CP's so much. Wether it be PvE or PvP someone will be on the low end of the spectrum. I'm above the cap, but I know many of my guildmates that are well above me. I really don't know how ZoS can work this out. Aside from the already mentioned balance issues coming with DB.

    Gear, Skills and CP layout… in a game where both PvE and PvP exist like this I imagine it is crazy hard to balance anything. Tweak one thing and the ripples start flowing.

    I would love to use more of my over-cap CP and I would also like to feel better about earning new ones or getting rewarded a chunk, but I understand and agree with the reasons behind why they aren't raising it yet.

    Creating new content at 170 or 180 CP would be silly. When it is raised it should be upped to 260 to give some feeling of a level progression to newer players. Also, the hint at 51 new CP usage a quarter in the future seems low.

    Is it Tuesday yet?

    Removal of vet ranks is horsecrap. The did nothing but make VR CP and add a zero. How any of you are so gullible as to think its some mighty change I will never understand.

    Poisens are OP. They will be OP, with or without cp increase. Its going to wreck PvP as much as the proxy det trains when they f'ed up proxy. They are going to (be stronger than intended) the forum will errupt in complaints. And they will get nerfed to useless. Over 6 months and 2 dlcs and another 25% population loss.

    Players have no reason to continue playing. And Maybe ZoS doesn't give a rats arse because they feel if you leave just cause they ruined their own game you prolly aren't the sort of player dumb enough to spend 40 bucks on a horse or to pretend their DLC is good no mateer how little work they put in, so they don't want you any how.

    Theres no reason to go into most locations anymore, theres no character progression, and Cyrodil assumes too much intelligence from the playerbase. With most of the good hardcore players gone, its a mess in there.

    A brand new player can currently, if they make a friend and ask for help lvling. Can go from level 3 to vr16 in a week easy. Now they are changing to CP Ranks PLUS the catch up system, it will take 5 hours for a new character to be CP 160. And only a week or so after to reach cap.

    If you spend your time in a populated area doing nothing, talking and what not, and whining about dungeons being to hard or what have you then no I do not think all these other players should continue to suffer the stale no progression life. How many months do these lazy folks need to catch up? How many boosts? Hell if you refuse to progress until they catch up just give every new character the damn CP cap, its already so they don't have to work for it and its still to hard for them, they might actually have to pick up their controller.

    No dueling and even if they ever get around to doing it they won't do it right. No battlegrounds. Promises of 'someday'. Noone will even be here by then. ZoS can't even rejuvinate there playerbase with DLC's like other games cause noone wants to come back after they have left. Folks put alot of time and effort into this game just so 6 months later everyone gets what folks worked hard for overnight. (look at AP gains now)

    In short, screw eso and zos. Man, the more I think about it the more I can't believe I still troll the forums tryna help and put my two bits in. This game had potential, iwe used to be so excited to see what yall would come up with. Now we just wish you'd revert everything back to pre imperial city.

    That was part of the point of the separation of Gear from Levels when they removed VR.

    Gear isn't seperated from levels. VR ranks being turned into CP ranks has nothing to do with this. Where do you people make this stuff up at? Instead of something being VR5 it will be CP 50.

    Actually there is a massive difference. Prior to TDB the ability to wear/use items was based purely on level. This has now changed to lvl <50 being the 'old system' and CP > 50 being the 'new system'. The old system being character based and the new system being account based.

    It does sound like your gripes are deep set so you'd be better to leave and enjoy life.

    They should not increase it every expension but rather every week or month.
    I would love to see the cap increase by 5 to 10 every week rather than 101 every 2 years ...

    @OP because nobody wants 25% extra magicka / stamina damage, 25% more dot damage (including Radiant Destruction), 25% more crit damage, 5k regen per second, abilities costing 5 magicka / stamina, infinite block, ...

    #remove-cp

    or.. other people have a life and you're actually a very small percentage of the player base (but a large percentage of the forum) that has actually capped CP.
