Interesting! Thank you for reposting, laced.
Which brings me in front of this... using simpler tools. Two trace routes and one ping.

What region are you playing the game in? (Your country and specific area)
- Kungsbacka, Sweden
Who is your ISP?
- Telia
I had some times very big issues with lag ( game stopping, showing hourglass, then after 5-10 seconds starting again ), content not loading ( when it was as worst I had to log out and log in to see characters I had to interact with -- or mobs ). This was never a big problem during weekday daytime, but as the evening neared, it got worse and worse.
A set my graphics settings to low, but to no avail. In the end, in my desperation I changed resolution from 16?? / 12?? ( or whatever is suitable for a 24 inch screen ) to the lowest possible. I still played it in windows mode and maximised and could not really see any deterioration of what I could see onscreen, but the effect was dramatic!
All lag and problems with loading content disappeared! After playing with this setting a couple of days, I can see a little lag ( like I described above but not game-breaking ) and no problems with loading content at all.
A tip for those that can benefit from this then!

I dont get it. I must be lucky and my computer is big enough to handle this.
I have bredbandbolaget...simular to telia. Except bank lag, chat lag and Cyradriil lag......I dont lag one bit. And I play every day.
Maybe Zenimax dont like kungsbacka? :-p
Yep, pretty much!If I am reading this correct you have a ping of 200 or so? And there is ton of packet loss?
My traceroute shows the average delay I have in responses which basically ranges in the 200ms area before it actually requests a Zenimax server response. The best info was posted by visualroute a few posts before mine (where I got te Zenimax IP area). That shows the packet loss with a more comprehensive system.Your traceroute does not show any problem, it only shows that ESO servers reject ping (and thus, tracert) requests (which can be done for security reasons but I suspect that Zeni has done this to prevent the modders from adding a custom latency display in game).
They are scurred that the ignorant majority that don't pay attention to these things would start complaining as well. lol.Yep, pretty much!If I am reading this correct you have a ping of 200 or so? I just won't run it on my system as I am an anti-java person (creates tons of security holes).
And my question: Why would Zenimax deny an IP ping/latency check? Could it be because they have the EU server in the US? That's not exactly a policy that most, if not all, modern and self respecting MMOs follow.
