I am not confident in the contents of it. But adding another failed promise to the community after one the most damaging patches ever in a year of failed goals. I wish they'd just take it seriously for once as they have now pushed the player base to 2017-2018 levels of players. Just give us the Q&A. Even if it's one question and answer. Something concrete. If this was the plan and it's so well thought out. Why has it been literal months since the promise of it. So many let downs will only continue the train of losing players.
The silence is the worst part about this. I've written @ZOS_JessicaFolsom and @ZOS_Kevin alike. Not getting a response - especially when fluffier links can be posted, interviews have been had, etc. - is just straight up disrespectful. A lot of respect has been lost.
Please don't take this the wrong way, but are you important enough to warrant a direct response from them? I mean, do you think they care that they have lost your respect? Do you think they have enough time in the day to answer every question that is asked of them?
In an ideal world, they would be able to debate and discuss every comment they are called out in, but let's be honest, they aren't going to agree to every interview that is asked of them. Not unless you have a Youtube channel with strong subscriptions, or are a member of a podcast, or write articles for an influential gaming website. I'm sure they just don't have the time or even care.
That isn't to say I don't want a Q&A, I just think the first issue is: what questions are they going to answer? They can't answer everyone's questions, and to be frank, there are tons of questions that community members would ask that don't deserve an answer ("Why are all the good mounts in the Crown store?!?"). What we need is for a content creator to take submissions for questions, from the community, then compile those questions, filter out the stupid ones, and request ZOS for an interview where they ask those questions. A Q&A with twitch chat, or on the forums, or with the general community, is NEVER going to happen

Perhaps they will respond in December, but then again, maybe there will be other urgent firefighting ZOS needs to do (for example, the fix for blocking created a new bug). Then there’s Christmas and New Year, more public holidays.
At this rate, we are looking at a response sometime in 2023. Hmm… let’s say, second quarter 2023

And I'm sure this thread will be alive until then. We will make sure they don't forget about the Q&A

I welcome everyone to come ask a question and vote on other questions community members have asked that you feel are important to get answered!
We tried to make sure they didn't forget about our thoughts on the Bosmer and Argonian lore changes with a 97 page thread, too.... and how did that turn out for us?

On Twitter, before the patch notes dropped people were making a ton of big claims about what was in them. Some of it ended up being very true, some of it didn't (e.g. people said ZoS killed light attacking). Rich said that all the comments about what's in a patch before the notes or pts are even available was tiresome, and to wait until pts drops to form an opinion. He also asked the community to trust them.

I actually don't see anything wrong with this though. He didn't call anyone anything, just said knee jerks reactions are tiresome/ disappointing. granted this round wasn't well received but he's also right to say wait until it actually drops before saying it's bad. I would say asking for trust at this point for ME would be too much, but he didn't even ask for that. Said it would be appreciated, but didn't demand it. At least he didn't tell you that you didn't have to be here 😜.
I'm far from a zos fanboy. Love that they created a game I have a choice between soloing or grouping rather than my last mmo that tried to strangle soloing. Much of the management decisions have left me scratching my head in confusion (I made my living for decades off retail corporate management and their actions scream bad long term business to me) but I'm not privy to their PnL reports or to their agenda. Communication would be a cheap and easy way to reinforce some loyalty, even with the daunting task of making up for lack of communication and the hits they'd take at first. But again, I'm not in the know so /shrug. But this tweet specifically I couldn't find fault in.

His tweet isn't awful, but asking for trust is hard when he's not interested in a dialogue to begin with. Perfect example of the wrong tone at the wrong time from the wrong person. The fact that he expects knee-jerk reactions and yet does nothing to get ahead of that speaks volumes.
Fundamentally, this is why the Q&A is so important. Trust is at a low point. That tweet and several other actions are a part of that.
spartaxoxo wrote: »A good example is the jabs change. We DID get communication on that, but they left the commentary pretty much buried in a pretty long patch note and didn't respond to any of the many threads. They also didn't give the community back old jabs. However, they explicitly did state why it was changed. The wanted to support weaving with jabs so they changed the attack cadence, and then they needed to change the animation to match it. It might not be what people would like to hear, but there was a specific concrete reason communicated to us.

I will judge it based on whether or not it materializes and the quality of it at the time. It's fine if others feel too burned and so don't feel the same way. But I'm not going to automatically approach it as awful and bad faith just because it didn't happen in a time frame I would have liked. I will especially will feel that way if the delay was caused by them implementing concrete solutions to balance changes that fix what they broke. I want fixes more than sentiment in the first place. If they released it alongside a really good patch that fixes all the biggest issues, I'd be happy.

I never said it would be bad or awful, but when the promise was made in August and still hasn't materialized in November, despite significant outcry on the issue - I definitely start to question the sincerity of it.

But, I also understand that it often comes from a place of developers sincerely wanting to fix things for the users and "let their work speak for itself" to use a phrase the Overwatch 2 team once used when they went no contact for a while. It's a very easy mistake to make when what the developer wants to do is fix something.

So far, they have chosen to let their inaction speak volumes instead.
This is not a tricky fix to a critical software component that we are talking about. Nothing about this subject should take this long to address.
