Don’t believe everything you hear in zone chat. Demand evidence - some people just hate addons or inherently don’t trust them. I have a ton of addons and had no issues, we just need even a “we are looking into it” - not their usual wait until Monday to give us a non answer.

Pretty much Zos only discusses bans with those banned which is why they so not permit threads on the subject. . Especially generic ones like this thread.

I’m keeping it generic because if we ask specifically about a person that’s discussing one individual case we seems like it would be more likely to be shut down. We’re talking about a mass ban.

The cause for the ban could be several days or weeks or even months in the past and the bans concurrency with the crash could be coincidence.

They're wasting resources, money, and time then. its no coincidence half the players are getting ban

Again Addons use ZOS API function calls and are ran through ZOS game code. No one has had addons in common for every ban reported.

TTC was my best guess, since it has an associated EXE file, and even that was a stretch. Other than that, it is stuff like Map Pins, Raid Planner, and Action Duration Reminder. Honestly, until ZOS says otherwise, I am not considering addons to be the issue.

Normally I would assume that the banned players are just playing victim. But ZOS wiping away a thread entirely and not just locking it makes it seem like something else is going on.

People who were not having disconnection issues after the latest update, started having them about 20+ hours ago.

Nobody was getting banned prior to the disconnection issues that started about 20+ hours ago.

Something has changed on the server side around 20+ hours ago.

I personally have no had disconnection issues until I logged in this morning, I have had several today. Several trying to enter delves for the daily quests in Murkmire, and several using wayshrines or attempting to teleport to a wayshrine.

People were not reporting these bans prior to the new disconnection issues.

Not all people who are having disconnection issues, are being banned, I wasn't banned after being disconnected.

We don't know if the disconnection issues were people are able to log back on and are not banned, are the same for people who are disconnected and try to log on only to find out they have been banned. They may be disconnected because they were banned. But they seem to both started around 20+ hours ago.

We know that some addons broke after the latest update, but we also know that people were not being banned because of broken addons after the latest update. We do not know, we cannot know, if addons have anything to do with people being banned.

I have noticed just today that the loading screens are taking a lot longer than they did just a day ago, and it's during these loading screens I have been disconnected, going into a delve, teleporting to a wayshrine, using a wayshrine, etc.

I am using addons, but I have crippled any addon or library that was causing errors. I don't feel that it's addons that are causing the issues. People will use "shotgun logic" when they are thinking emotionally and not logically. Meaning people tend to blame whatever is more convenient, that takes the least amount of time to reason, and not go through the process of thinking critically nor logically.

ZoS has not said anything, so we have no idea what it is as of right now. There is nothing wrong with having an opinion, but when opinion turns into fear mongering it's gone way too far. It wouldn't hurt to turn off all your addons, but that is also not a guarantee you won't be caught up in whatever this ban is.

There is nothing I could find in any of the patch notes that talks about anything related to updating any cheating detection, so I don't get the feeling that has been changed.

The addon TOS has not be updated or changed recently, so I don't get the feeling that an addon that previously was okay, is now all the sudden reason for banning anyone.

Instead of fear mongering and spreading all kinds of rumors, I feel the best policy is to simply wait and see how ZoS handles this. I'm fairly certain that ZoS is aware of the bans, and if there is concern over people being banned who shouldn't be I am fairly certain that ZoS is working to resolve whatever it is as people are posting on this thread. If they are not sure what is taking place, I imagine they are not going to make any statements about it until they know for sure, the worst possible thing ZoS could do right now is make a statement that turns out to be false.

But its not yet been established that this is indeed a disciplinary action. Right now, is looking more like some sort of conflict or bug.
So yeah, some official communication from ZOS would be highly appreciated right now.

Two threads, at least, were hidden: you can see both of them on a Google search result, but they both lead to the “You do not have permission” error.

Nor do we have any firm information as to the reason behind this action. If it was because of a clear cheat or exploit it is highly likely that no statement will be made by ZOS until they have hot-fixed whatever the vulnerability was. That, together with automated bans followed by human involvement in any resulting appeals, would be entirely consistent with MMOs generally.
