Unplayable High ping on EU server

I haven't been able to play the game properly since since Horns of the Reach DLC was released. I used to play the game around 250 ping on EU server , but now it just unplayable, my ping is around 600 all the time. I thought it was my ISP's routing issue, so I played with a VPN to lower my ping a bit to 350+ but the ping keeps spiking to 999+ which is impossible to pull a good dps for
Veteran Dungeons and Trails ruining the fun for me. I was fed up with the lag knowing that I would never be able to do a good dps and do animation cancelling. I finally quit playing eso for 2 weeks now after 3.5k hours but I kept returning to the game hoping that it would be fixed someday because I really like game but it still not fixed and I have noticed today that the EU server is not actually in Europe but its in the US. I ran an Ip location check and the client is connected to these two US IPs.

EU

159.100.232.160 (Maryland)
159.100.232.124

I get lower ping in the US Server 400ms which is still unplayable.

Will the server be move to EU again? I'm from India and I'm sure many of the Asian and Australian players are having the same issue. The game is unplayable with 600+ ping. I really want to enjoy playing the game again. Please bring back the real EU Server.

I have ping 600-1200 today, which is very unusual for me - I live only 900 km from Frankfurt, where the EU megaserver is (at least in theory?). I got kicked couple of minutes ago to the login screen and now can't log in back (Error 200).
Can someone confirm that indeed EU server is in US now? I'm not an expert with all that network/IP stuff.

You can check the IP location for yourself. I think the server has moved to US which is why I'm getting 600+ insane ping. I use to play at 250 ping, now its just unplayable. Same here, my ping used to be 70-100 before the cwc patch, Now I'm constantly at 200-300, feels like I'm playing on NA when I'm actually based on EU server. It ruins my gameplay completely and I can't pvp with 1 second delay at all. Tried to turn off every addon, got settings on the lowest quality possible, even restarted my router, nothing helps, I gave up so far. Every other online game works just fine btw.

uhh i started playing since last dlc, first my ping was flawless like perfect ms, now im 150ms normal with constant spikes to 999+ oh and every patch im unable to start the game. can't remember the last game that got me so salty.

@Creeper this is a misconception which comes up often.

The login/patch servers are apparently in the US which is why when you ping them you'll get a US IP. However the game servers are located in the EU (Frankfurt Germany).

The login server has always been in US, the EU game server is still in Germany. Have no problems with ping, have yo tries to repair the game and followed ZOS advices for your firewall. Firewall and virusprotection can mess things up.

I'm pretty sure the EU server is not located in Frankfurt Germany or I wouldn't be getting such ridiculous high ping, before Horns of The Reach DLC my ping was ping fine, I use to play at 250 ping, now my ping is always at 600+. I have added exception on my Firewall and Anti Virus, port forwarded the game ports, ran the game with the anti virus turned off, resetted my router several times and even reinstalled a fresh installation of Windows. Nothing seem to work. You may not notice the increase in latency (ping) much because you are closer to the US. While players from Asia and Oceanic countries will get much higher ping. Heck. I even get better ping in NA Server 480+ms, which is still unplayable. And I know that its not my ISP's routing issue because I just checked my ping. You can see from the picture here https://img42.com/3mdG- that I took a few minutes ago from the VPN that I use to play ESO with after the lagging issue, that should have been my ping in game. And if the server is really located in Frankfurt Germany, something is very wrong with the EU Server. I hope ZOS take this problem seriously and fixes this issue. I cant even play the game with such high ping.

I can't provide them sorry, I don't know a great deal about their services but that one snippet of knowledge is one I knew from previous threads.

cant play since 3 days too, dunno really why. My ping is as usual on the other game so it doesnt come from my hardwar or my FAI so there is definitly a mysterious problem for a MINORITY of player and the problem is apparently on their side..

That might be because your country is closer to the US and you have a very high speed Internet, and not everyone has a good connection like you have. How much ping/latency do you get when you log in on the NA server?

There isn't anything to be fixed as has been discussed. The game servers are located in Germany, however the login or first contact is the US which is why you'll get those IP addresses.

This can also be seen by EU players logging into PTS which are also NA and seeing the difference in ping shown.

*Edit if you're on about normal lag issues submit a support ticket or post some additional information here about when, where, what etc.

You think they physically moved the EU servers data during the cwc update? That makes no sense honestly. When the build our pts accounts it takes them a week to copy everything over. The EU servers would of has to been down for a week for them to copy everything over. There's probably a better more realistic explanation for this like a bad switch or something.

I agree with you Zagnut, more probably something like a new node, but what node and why? Here is the question that ZOS apparently DONT want answer, even talk.

Can tell you this : i have ticket them with a super long ticket, that explain a lot of things(the problem, my investigation that explain why the problem is from them and not from my hardware or my ISP, exaetera ...!) and the guy didnt even read my ticket (that took my like 1 hour to write and multiple hours to investigate before this...) and answer.... "CHECK YOUR GRAPH PILOT"....

Exactly the same problem. Ping is fine until it reaches 80.150.170.157, than things start to worsen.
Before CWC my latency was completely stable at 50-80ms in-game.
Now my latency is usualy 100-140ms and it's periodicaly going to 500-999. I get these lag spikes twice or thrice in 10 minutes lasting for 10-20 seconds. Most content is unplayable for me now. Before CWC I hadn't a single problem with latency. They must have messed up something, I am 1000% sure.

Im asking the support for days and they are totally no concerned, really, they dont care, and keep telling me that my prob come from my driver or my own box...
Like...
1) that really not professional from them
2) they just show us their poor knowledhe about network... something is wrong since it's their job

nvm, let's keep this topic alive, and maybe one day they gonna wake up.

I am feared that until they wake up I will be playing something different. Something with stable latency. Tried today: Overwatch - no problems at all, League of Legends - no problems at all.

It is certainly issue on their side no matter what they are trying to imply in these bs trash support answers.
