- Dark Exchange: Increased the cast time of this ability and its morphs to 1.2 seconds from 1 second.
Developer Comments:Adding an additional .2 seconds to the cast time of these abilities reduces the amount of resources they can generate when cast quickly in succession, and grants enemies more time to interrupt them.

Dark Anchors
- Standing still while in combat with a Dark Anchor now causes an an extraplanar charge to gradually accumulate at your location. A charge that has built to critical levels explodes, damaging those who contributed to its growth and significantly reducing their health recovery.
True, and I admit I cherry-picked that first line to some degree, but I know among some of my guilds, people seem to think BSW = Sorc Set. It's not a bad Sorc Set, but it's really the one thing that made MagDKs shine. I'm just really frustrated by these constant nerfs. The bigger problem with the BSW nerf is it really poops on MagDKs more than anything. BSW was the perfect compliment for a MagDK, and with all the issues DKs have in the new patch, this just adds more to the list.Well to be fair, BSW is outperforming Necro anyway in pet builds (tested it personally but don't tell that to the mainstream sorcs who spent all that time and money on their pet gear).
Right, I basically said that in the same post but you only quoted that first sentence. Except instead of speaking specifically about magDKs, I made a sarcastic remark about NBs instead. Either way, Sorcs still have Necro and everyone else who is using BSW is SoL / back to the drawing board.

Though that pirate skele change looks good. Nice way to block it from shield users (approved).
Though 5 bucks says it terrible in real application since you can have it proc on health then shield spam lol.
Bow
- Heavy Attacks now automatically fire when they are fully charged.
Developer Comment:Fully-charged Heavy Attacks will be more important with the resource changes coming in this update, so we want to make sure there are no gameplay barriers to using them.

I have been told that 2 seconds is an eternity in Cyrodiil. So 1.2 seconds seems right. Can we stop with the nerfs now?
I'm just going to pretend I didn't see the bsw nerf without touching Necro/pet damage(trying to encourage build diversity? Lawl) and other fun stuff and ask a potato question instead.
I don't have PTS so can some kind soul enlighten as for what exactly War Maiden 5 pc does? "Adds 400 spelldamage to your magic damage abilities"? What are "magic damage abilities"? Everything that costs magicka? Does that include elemental damage or that a separate category? What about ultimates?
ZOS_GinaBruno wrote: »Short answer is DKs likely won't be seeing a ton of changes before we go live; this class is still quite powerful (as it should be being a tank), even after some of the adjustments we've made to other classes and abilities.

gg on nerfing BSW btw Mdks really needed a F U even more
MDKs were better off both and after this nerf if they used the Sun set, especially if they had gold Sun rings prior to 1T. Now Sun is clearly superior. Granted, being a MDK in PVP is still playing the game on hard mode; but PVE is still a walk in the park.
Sorry, but in no way Sun is better.
Spell crit is useless for damage dealers in PVP so the always on Sun set does more damage than the reduced spell damage and proc chance of BSW. Check the math.
It's not useless, it's not as useful as PvE but for a mDK, who doesn't have an exec, a crit whip means all the differences in the world. Plus you can actually buff BSW's spell proc even further reaching 700 spell damage bonus.
Plus Dk have lots of fire damage, that's true. It's not ALL fire damage tho.

The changes to the items sets (Netch, Ysgramor, Automaton etc) look great! But please make the bonuses scale with Major Brutality/Sorcery etc as other sets do. This is clearly a bug and should be looked at since War Maiden will suffer the same issue.
Also while reworking piece bonuses, please look at Monster sets like Nerien'eth, Skoria etc to make them comparable to the newer ones (remove max health, add spell damage/mag magicka etc).
It scales
Do you have any proof?
Any test about it?
No. Log on PTS. Try damage with 4automaton + 1 mismatching (same trait, glyph, quality) with and without brutality. Then replace mismatched with automaton try both with and without brutality. Compare value. It matches 20% from brutality.
Not sure if i tried medium armor passive or not.

Radiant Magelight (Magelight morph):
This morph no longer passively reduces your damage taken by sneak attacks. It continues to passively prevent the stun from sneak attacks.
Reduced the cost of this morph by approximately 10%.
Developer Comments:
Spoiler
Due to the reduction of sneak attack damage against other player characters, it is no longer necessary for Radiant Magelight to reduce their damage further. This prevents situations where using a sneak attack would actually do less damage than a normal attack. We’ve reduced the cost on this morph to make it more attractive relative to Inner Light.

Item Sets
- The following item sets now has a 2-piece bonus of Spell Critical instead of Max Health:
Developer Comments:
- Light Speaker
- Netch’s Touch
- Spider Cultist
- Ysgramor’s Birthright
These sets are meant to be damage or healing focused by augmenting a particular element or skill line, so the 2-piece bonus of Max Health was out of place for this theme. We’ve updated them to have more appropriate 2-piece bonuses instead.
@ZOS_GinaBruno
Is there a reason that Silks of the Sun is not included in this? Even with the Burning Spellweave nerf it's still going to be useless in comparison. Also, if you are going to rework some of useless bonuses can you look at monster sets such as Skoria? They are completely outclassed by newer sets such as Ilambris and Grothdarr due to the one part bonuses.
ZOS_GinaBruno wrote: »
- You can no longer increase your total Movement Speed bonus to more than 100% of your base Movement Speed.
Developer Comment:This change should only affect builds that are stacking all the Movement Speed bonuses in the game, and should prevent some of the extreme movement those builds are able to do in situations like Battleground flag running. This also prevents instances where those builds could run faster on foot than via a mount.

That test does not seem adequate to me. If you mismatch the sets, you will see a difference with and without major brutality
On your weapon damage as well as damage. Putting the 5pc in would also show increased numbers of both, but you can't know if the invisible increase to X damage is scaled properly from that. You'd need to compar by adding exactly the same weapon damage from a universal source and compare that with brutality.

- Bow
- Heavy Attacks now automatically fire when they are fully charged.
Developer Comment:MissBizz released a video guide about basic combat including how to light/heavy attack,
what these do and more, approximately *24* hours ago. She did include that bow heavy attacks work differently than other weapons. Due to wanting to ensure no guides from the PTS era were completely correct upon launch, we felt the need to mess with her too.
Fixed that comment for you. I'm mostly joking
