Should be IMO universally available to anyone (except those channeling heavies) even if it would be probably big buff to DW gankers (not as big as the nerf they already received...)

So i can't hold my bow attack anymore and wait for the right moment? that is bat s**t ludicrous. You can't say you want to remove gameplay barriers when you are removing options. That doesn't make any sense. Another indirect nerf to stam nb's... These devs are so out of touch with balancing.

I don't have PTS so can some kind soul enlighten as for what exactly War Maiden 5 pc does? "Adds 400 spelldamage to your magic damage abilities"? What are "magic damage abilities"? Everything that costs magicka? Does that include elemental damage or that a separate category? What about ultimates?

It only works on magic damage ability's not flame, frost or shock. So mostly geared toward nightblades and templars really. Yes I have tested.

    • Heavy Attacks now automatically fire when they are fully charged.
      Developer Comment:
Fully-charged Heavy Attacks will be more important with the resource changes coming in this update, so we want to make sure there are no gameplay barriers to using them.

Dumb idea, removing even more control from the player each patch, even heavy attacks from melee weapons should be adjusted so you can manually release a fully charged heavy when you desire. God knows what animation bugs this will bring.

Also, why is eclipse going to be unbreakable? Does anyone understand what this will actually do? @ZOS_GinaBruno

I'm not sure where to post this, but I've just logged onto the pts and immediately noticed, what I assume to be two bugs...? Firstly, our enchantments are not displaying. I tested it out and they are working, but I can't see them, which is quite annoying.

Secondly, my friend logged in and without changing anything from before the pts maintenance, his spell damage on his magicka nightblade is unusually higher than what it was. When I say higher, I mean MUCH higher, over 5.5k buffed. My sorcerer and templars stats are the same as they were last night, so perhaps this is a nightblade bug, if it is a bug at all??

Don't understand how Lich still goes untouched. Talks about how burning spellweave is too dominant for their liking... Then does nothing about the borderline mandatory set (Lich) next update. Tsk tsk. Lich is easy mode, please bring it in line with other options...

A patch note that isn't completely a disaster.. I'll take it!

Did have a thought when reading this though:
Sets like War Maiden, Netch’s Touch, and Ysgramor’s Legacy are meant to be damage or healing focused by augmenting a particular element or skill line, so the 2-piece bonus of Max Health was out of place for this theme. We’ve updated them to have more appropriate 2-piece bonuses instead.

makes you wonder who came up with the original set boni in the first place... throw of the dice?!

Here's why sets like War-Maiden (Adds 400 spell damage to X type of ability) won't be as good as BSW or even Julianos. No class uses 1 type of damage (Besides DK). So using War-Maiden will buff some abilites on NB and Templar, but abilities like WoE, one of the strongest ground based DOTs, will be left unbuffed. Reflective light, unbuffed. Light and Heavy attacks unbuffed. This isn't the case for mDK however, but BSW will still be up for enough time to be better. Secondly, Julianos and BSW scale with Major and Minor Sorcery. War-Maiden does not. Julianos = 299 spell * 25% from major and minor = 375 damage to all abilities. So 25 spell damage on some abilites but none on LA, HA, and WoE? Not worth it. So yeah, mDK will still use BSW. Sorc will use Necro. NB could still use Scathing or Julianos or Master Architect. Temp could still use Moondancer with something like Julianos, not sure if BSW will have enough uptime.

Don't get caught up on the War-Maiden buff, it doesnt matter

    That BSW was needed yeah?
Seriously, instead of bringing other sets on pair with BSW, you just nerf it.

Scathing mage is a beautiful alternative to BSW and doesn't force you to use the most overused damage type in video game history. Get that to 600 spell damage on legendary. nope.

I could continue with all the other sets here but I don't feel like writing a book.

Not like they read anything we say anyway.

Man i wonder if some of these changes are to make Julianos back viable. I know many people have wanted crafted sets to be more viable so this could be in direct correlation with that.

I think people mainly just want to look good and not have to wear all the ugliest sets of gear in the game, not so much to have crafted sets to be BiS.

This game needs a new Development team so badly it hurts. The current Devs are completely out of touch, have a stale and uninteresting vision for combat (Heavy Attack spam lulz), and continue to give nothing but lip service to the "Play the Way you Want" marketing gimmick while continuing to further shoehorn classes into defined roles.

At this point the best thing we can hope for is Morrowind to be a bust and have ZOS management acknowledge that the game needs fresh development blood.
    @Kilandros

This development team did the whole transition from a dying niche game that it was with subscription to one of the best MMOs on the market.

I, for one, after playing the beta could have never thought the game ends up being that good as it became by the time of Tamriel Unlimited. I could've got bored with it in couple of months after that if it wouldn't become even better with updates.

What happens now is that some people don't understand that One Tamriel approach REQUIRES nerfs to the classes and gear and does NOT support vertical progression and power creep, unlike many traditional MMOS.

Yes, it would be much better if ZOS implemented balance changes more often. Yes, it would be awesome if ZOS fixed outstanding performance issues. Yes, it would be awesome if ZOS nerfed mag sorcs:)

But they keep adding a lot of new MECHANICS instead of just putting in batches of recolored old content and call it an expansion.

In one Tamriel everybody got housing system for free. You didn't even get to buy a dlc.

Now they made a huge zone, filled with lore and vistas. They are adding battlegrounds for all your trigger-happy fun. They are adding a new trial and according to people's feedback it's quite nice.

They are re-balancing the classes to fix the issues we all have been complaining about for quite a while.

And you just keep complaining that 'you can't sustain'.

That's the damn purpose that you should NOT be able to sustain.

The game has exactly 2 (two) manually activated cooldowns as far as the game mechanics are concerned: ultimates and potion. Everything else is spammable as long as you have the resources for that.

Let me reiterate: as long as you have the resources.

In the result of previously made balance decisions and power creep caused by iterative raising of CP cap current state of the game allows to effectively disregard resources levels in pve, and, which is even more gamebreaking, in pvp.

We all know that people don't die in both pvp and pve because they ran out of the resources unless they are not experienced with the game.

And since we've been playing this game where resources are not a factor for at least (at least) a year a lot of people assume that's how the game's supposed to be played. This period of resource-irrelevance is fully on ZOS though. It's not great they're trying to fix it only now, but it HAD to happen.

This is the first example from an mmo that i ever played when people rage at devs for making the game HARDER and more complex. I've seen people being mad when devs streamlined classes and game mechanics. I've seen people complain when devs kept nerfing the content. But this is the first time when i see people shouting and swearing when devs are trying to make a non-cooldown and non-downtime gameplay to rely on SOMETHING.

You don't like to use heavies to sustain? Then WHAT would you like to use instead? Nothing? Sustain should 'just happen'? What is YOUR job then? To perform really simple (compared to many other mmos) rotations and don't stand in red? Is THAT what you're trying this game combat to be? Is that the pinnacle of mmo experience?

So what are you complaining about again?

Another week, another patch note that again proves that ZOS has a severe disconnect from their players.

They aren't listening to us. They aren't listening to the legions of irate players over these changes. They aren't listening to their own Forums, to Reddit, Facebook, Twitter, video-game mag site Forums...

They're just caught in their little bubble that says "Just go ahead and change it, they'll love us for it!".

At this point, I'm just going to let the Forums burn once this travesty gets released. Maybe they'll listen when those same legions of players are ditching this game because every single one of their characters becomes useless overnight.

But by then, it'll be too late.

ESO: it was a fun experiment, ZOS. But you really should have listened to your players on this one.

Okay I am starting to get pretty disappointed here. I have defended you ZOS since Morrowind dropped because even though the changes to sustain were over the top I felt that since this update was so huge for you that you would scale back some changes. I figured you did the "going overboard at first and then buff it a bit so all are happy" path but so far you are holding strong... mistake.

No changes to sustain and classes left untouched except one or two changes... mistake. You did buff some sets, which was nice but nerfed Burning Spellweave, doesn't seem like a huge nerf so we will have to see what happens. I have to say for such a big update these patch notes seem bare, I was expecting some lengthy patch notes for most patches.

You need to look at sustain changes, changes to Redguard passives, changes to Siphoning Attacks. What about bugged abilities that are on live right now? Is Reflective Scales reflecting all projectiles it is supposed to yet? I know why you might not nerf some abilities that some claim are OP because they are comparing them to another classes skill (examples NBs ability X doesn't perform like Sorc ability Y so nerf it). Doesn't make sense so good job not nerfing in that situation.

I just don't think feedback is being listened to, maybe it is... I don't know but this seems disappointing to me and Morrowind is looking like a sad chapter update so far. Trying to stay positive here ZOS but it's fading.

It's really obvious. Not everyone farmed Lich yet, most people already farmed BSW. Once people finish farming Lich, THEN they will nerf it into the ground. Nerfing it right now wouldn't *** off nearly enough people.

This isn't even the biggest issue, but it bothers me. Why change Grand Soul Gems to just, soul gems? Is the word "grand" too much for noobs to comprehend? I am so confused. In every elder scrolls game the highest soul gem tier is Grand Soul Gem, bar black soul gems/azura's star.

Why even change it. Like this is what you guys think to change instead of the actual issues? Screwing up gameplay isn't enough I suppose.
