Miat’s PVP Alerts addon is built upon actions done by players that the combat log records. This includes sprinting, casting an ability, weapon swapping, drinking a potion, stealthing, etc. If a player executes any of those actions, basic messages are sent to the server and clients. This mod hooks into those notifications and filters them to give information about who is in the area. That info is then turned into either a KOS list determined by the player, a stealthier list, or simply an incremental value of players in the area (all are a rough estimation.)

The KOS list, specifically, is simply another layer on top of the above options, where the addon looks for specific players that you can choose to add to a list. When those players perform an action within your existing area of detection, you will be notified that they are in the area. You are not provided info on exactly where they are. Here are a few specific examples:

• If someone is in your existing area of detection and they fully enter stealth, the addon will notify you of the name of the player character that successfully went fully “hidden.”
• If someone is already stealthed and you’re traveling near then, or enter the area they were initially already stealthed in, you will not be notified of that player.
• If someone uses a Nightblade ability that results in them vanishing, they will not trigger the addon’s alert unless they enter the real “hidden” state (i.e. the eye on the HUD is closed).

Lastly this addon adds a kill spam list which shows you when someone has died in your existing area of detection, and to what ability. When you first get these messages, it simply says “Someone has died to Dark Flare.” When you start to get more information on the players around you, it adds that player name to the Saved Variables file for PVPAlerts.lua, then starts to add that information into your UI while playing.

Note that in all the above examples, you are not notified of exactly where the player is. This addon does not add a little blip to your map or compass, and does not give you an overlay that points out specifically where players are. This addon is not radar, a Doppler, or any other means of giving away another player’s exact position.

Key word: problems. Not sure if I have to explain or not, but I never even mentioned the overall state of balance at release, let alone how much better it was. Just mentioned that this was an issue then, but not as much as it is now.

And the sets I imagine you're referring to (Viper, Selene's, Tremor, etc) aren't the main problem here. It's the raw damage strung into an essentially simultaneous multiple hit combo, which is guaranteed critical damage + % damage increase + stun from crouch stealth. The proc sets definitely exacerbate the issue, though.

To be honest, I'm not sure why you'd be behind nerfing one but not the other.
In much the same way, these proc sets perform with minimal user input and leave the target with little to no way for counterplay depending on the situation. It's about the lack of intelligible play and counterplay. Same thing with "one shots" from stealth.

You don't need to use concealed weapon to get a stun in from crouch stealth. Even a light attack will do it.
Why should we have to "deal with it" if it's something many find to be unhealthy for the game? There's nothing wrong with players having a dialogue trying to reach a general consensus about game balance and healthy design. Just because it's not new, it doesn't qualify it as something good for the game, especially as it evolves.

"Proc" and "proccing" is used to describe whenever a random gaming item activates, or a random gaming event occurs.
There's nothing random about Clever Alchemist.
Also do take note that the ganker in the video is ~380 CP and is not using the Shadow Mundus, so his damage could be significantly higher.

So on a unrelated note , men in their underwear paring up under guard bouncing around Cyrodiil spamming cheap Ults . No addon needed to find them . Feel free to dish any last minute procduct of your choosing while in stealth to get zero results .

On a related note I think everything for balance was written in crayon post TG . With all the tanks around I'm not really up for nerfing damage just broken sets getting repaired . Vipers procing off bow and all double procs not intended . After that we just have to live with the games direction .

Because let's be TOTALLY honest with ourselves for just a moment . Wrobel is not going to change direction or bend to community opinion .

None of us know when he was using CE. I do not give memory hackers the benefit of the doubt. I do not take their word for the reasons they are banned. How good he might be when he doesn't cheat is irrelevant.

To me, memory hacking is a red line and anyone caught doing it should be permanently banned with no exceptions.

It's also not hard for ZOS to check if a computer has CE on it, just need consent from the person to check what they have got. Same way pvp guilds on different mmo's check for 'spies' by checking through peoples programs/chat logs etc. Although ZOS can do it legally, the guilds I talk about don't

BTW Joy, not just CE..he also uses a mechanical keyboard and runs shield macros to apply everything with just 1 button stroke. Good player isnt just skill, imo, its all inclusive meaning sportsmanship as well.

BTW Joy, not just CE..he also uses a mechanical keyboard and runs shield macros to apply everything with just 1 button stroke. Good player isnt just skill, imo, its all inclusive meaning sportsmanship as well.

There's a difference between a mechanical keyboard and a keyboard that has macro keys. I've also not heard of people being banned for using the macro keys.

You are correct and no one to date has been punished for macros . There's just no way to prove their use really .
