And before people go "upgrade, it is so cheap, yadda yadda". It may be cheap for you, but it certainly isn't cheap for everybody. Third world country with broken economy here. Electronics cost up to four times what you guys in Europe and North America pay for them.
If he can't run the 64bit he can still run the 32bit.....Yadda yadda....

Why not just run the 32 bit client then?
Can you tell me how to run the 32 bit? I'll be happy with that till I can get a new card.

I assume given this thread that I will not be able to play ESO because I run a Geforce 660TI PE, I bought my pc ( picked every single part in it ) back in Feb 2013 and back then my GPU was the bottleneck.
I knew it when I bought it, so do I care? Not really, could it have come at a better time? Definitely...
I am waiting for the 1000 series...
So I might have to play on very bad graphics for a few months...
DX12 support is on their roadmap, so they need to make the necessary preparations. The prospect of maintaining three dedicated rendering paths is a nightmare to every programmer. The code revisions that were necessary anyway to go 64-bit warranted a removal of the oldest one of them at low additional man-hour costs, so this was an opportune moment to do it.TequilaFire wrote: »I guess they didn't feel they wanted the extra code overhead.
I do feel very sorry for them.
However, technology changes and upgrades. PC gaming requires hardware upgrades every couple of years. It can be an expensive hobby.

False.
ZoS must have a hardware survey from every player playing the game. It's most likely part of the analytics. At the very least, they know who plays OpenGL, who DirectX 9 and who DirectX 11.
It's most likely the other way around, 90%+ have DX11 capable card.

However, I fully support the decision to enhance the game as it evolves and the box does make it clear that "system requirements are subject to change over time". I cannot believe that there are PC gamers who don't understand that and accept it.
Console gamers are claiming that it's an advantage to play on console because the hardware and inbuilt software are fixed and they're not therefore susceptible to these issues, but the advantage that PC gamers have is that they can upgrade the individual components piecemeal without having to ditch the whole machine in order to get the next one, and moreover they can benefit from enhancements to the game through doing so.
Not to mention PCs provide much superior quality and functionality.

Yes, a new graphics card is not something everyone can afford, no matter how long they've known this was coming.
However there are other options
Run dx11 games on dx10 graphics card
