I do feel very sorry for them.
However, technology changes and upgrades. PC gaming requires hardware upgrades every couple of years. It can be an expensive hobby.
Yes, a new graphics card is not something everyone can afford, no matter how long they've known this was coming.
However there are other options
Run dx11 games on dx10 graphics card

MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2012)
Processor 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7

Graphics Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB
Is my computer crashing because of the 64 bit
I think the game recommends more than 4GB now, irrespective of 64 bit client or not. And DX11 compatible graphics cards.
So yes I think it may be.

As opposed to shelling out £300-450 for a console every few years just to play newer games? With a PC you at least have the security of knowing that future games will be compatible on your system for years to come, and when you do need to upgrade your graphics you're looking at £100-150. The majority of cards are able to handle multiple generations of DirectX so you might not even need new a card for several years. DX11 is 7 years old, giving your average gamer plenty of time to upgrade, but that also means someone who bought a DX11 compatible card when it was fairly new has experienced over half-a-decade of support with games now just switching to DX11 as mandatory, which means there'll be several more years before DX12 becomes the new standard.

They can't appease everyone but they can't remain at a technological barrier forever when there's better technology out there.
Hey I wasn't arguing. I would rather pay for new graphics cards than consoles. I'm getting a new one this weds in fact. And I'm also aware that DX11 has been out a long while, and they made people aware a good while ago.
But it's one of those things. If some can't afford it, they can't afford it. Never a nice thing.
I would have said "yes" if DX11 cards would still be expensive, but this is meanwhile no longer the case. Everyone using a PC on a regular basis should save some money to maintain or replace the hardware - this is just common sense to do that, every machine will break sooner or later. This is predictable and can be planned to the most part - so, I am not sorry for them.

Yeah but not everyone has a PC.

I would never even consider playing ESO it either.
How can a MMO PC player not have direct X11?

A lot of us are no "MMO" players.
Still, I have a GTX970. But I don't do MMOs. I do ESO.

You do now, ESO is a MMO.

Not really, seen from what Mr. Firor lately said in an interview - he called it an expanding online Elder Scrolls RPG.
Edit - this is the quote
Our bigger challenge has been to educate players that we are not a traditional 2004-style MMO and much more an expansive online Elder Scrolls RPG.
