ESO Needs an Auction Horse (Expanded Concept)

Well, first off @Wolfshead, guilds aren't faction based. The difference between a Global Auction House and The Auction Horse are as follows:

    Global Auction House:
    • Any player can sell
    • Any player can buy
    • Doesn't require guild membership

    Auction Horse
    • Requires Guild membership
    • Requires that Guild to obtain a Guild Merchant
    • Opens up bartering for the item

The auction horse would link ALL Guilds that have paid their tithes all around Tamriel. So it is global... but it's NOT an auction house. It is an extension of the Guild Stores. This is an important distinction to make.

The auction horse would link ALL Guilds that have paid their tithes all around Tamriel. So it is globa... but it's NOT an auction house. It is an extension of the Guild Stores. This is an important distinction to make.

So again what is wrong to let ALL guild be part of no matter what size the guild are and again as you wrote yourself "The auction horse would link ALL Guilds that have paid their tithes all around Tamriel. So it is globa" if is already global why not let ALL guild use for what you suggest is a global auction house but horse instead that is move around and not stand still and that only guild with more then 50+ member can use so if that is not a global auction house/horse i dont know what is.

So let the small guild pay same tithes then everyone else have that way no one get any extra treatment for what you are suggest is gave big guild extra treatment by let them sell there item global and you tell me that get extra point in as you put "You get points for trying to subvert the concept into a Global Auction House though!"

But i have to say if any you should get extra point is in subvert a global auction house to only to them that are in big guild. For agian be force to join "trader" and get kick out for not keep your sell lvl it is just stupid everyone should have same right to sell there item global if this idea would put in to game for what make person A have more right to sell something global then person B just for person A is guild with 50+ member???

@Wolfshead , because the requirement for the player to be in a guild and for that guild to obtain a merchant AND for that guild to pay the tithes are all vital in this concept.

Barriers to entry are important for certain systems and if the Auction Horse circumvented the guild stores then it would make the guild stores useless. Players would just get a little guild and sell their wares on the horse and not ever worry about guild merchants because they can sell through the horse. Why would any guild ever even bother with the Guild Merchants if they can sell through the horse with less effort?

What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.

Guild Store well not be useless for big guild with 500 member for them the keep selling there thing only thing that will change with let small guild use your "Auction Horse" is that more people can sell item and make price little more normal then are today beside a big guild can sell in 3 place
    • Inside the guild
    • Guild merchants
    • Horse

Small Guild can only sell at horse or to npc vendor

You are talk about make a global economy in ESO but only big guild will benefit from it in my book that so FUBAR and honest why is sssssoooo bad to let all guild with atlest 20 member benefit from your "Auction Horse". You talk about global auction and global economy but not everyone well cant benefit from it to me it sound more like you want big guild to have monopoly on economy how every your twist it you are talk about monopoly. Honest i dont see harm in let guild with 20+ member use your "Auction Horse" it wont hurt economy i think it will benefit economy in game.

What is that make so bad in your mind that no one in small guild cant benefit from your "Auction Horse" what make you think that big guild have earn right to use your horse is it just for small guild dont have membership to earn right use guild merchants for most people are in big guild already?

So if small guild pay fee on 5000 gold to unlock you "Auction Horse" you still dont think it is faire for the dont have Guild Merchants both Guild Store and Guild Merchants wont get useless i dont see why you are so agains and honest your explanation sound to me that want rich player get more rich and rest of us that do enjoy game only way is to join big guild to earn money in ESO that my friend is not faire game.

I have been in so call trader guild and do fact that I work odd hours i can only play few hours on weekend and get kick out for you active in guild trader is just FUBAR but it dose not matter i still earn money from normal Channel trader and sell to npc vendor.

I completely get what you're saying @Wolfshead . The issue is what you are suggesting would undermine the Guild Traders. Why would a guild, ANY guild, bother with guild traders if they could just pay to post at the Auction Horse for a substantially less amount of gold?

If ZOS were to create an Auction Horse without the requirement to already have a Guild Trader the Guild Trader system would crumble.

Is it "fair" that smaller guilds have no way to sell their wares to other players? No. It's not... but the Auction Horse isn't the way to remedy that.

LOL @joker0137 You may be right! There would be those who would always go to the Horse when they need something. This is why it is vital that part of the requirement for the horse is to have secured a Guild Trader. Without that, the Guild Trader system would dry up.

To further combat this issue the Auction Horse could be even more transient than I suggest. What if the Horse didn't appear every day and what if it only appeared on one location? Do not have it walk about but just "pop up" somewhere. This way people wouldn't be able to depend on the fact that the horse is always there and when it IS there it could be hidden away in some cove where no one has yet to find it.

I would like to see it appear one in-game day out of every 5.

I don't like that idea at all! Global action house or rather the lack of it is what makes the game so much fun! If you wanna buy something good check at all the traders around a city or a specific zone around the map for what guilds are offering. Global action house is only going to make the game more competitive, people striving for numbers instead of pure fun and world immersion. I don't like that idea one bit. In fact I would love for them to think of other ways to make trading even easier for crafting guilds that are really dedicated. Like offering specific items to well known trader NPCs around the city for example. Lets say they create an awesome item or have something good to sell they just loan it to the trader and get a percentage of the trade or something like that. This is going to be way more fun and give credit to said guild and person that created the item than a global action house that every single mmo out there has one.

Next to an guild store spot,I would like the idea that guilds can buy a mascot animal of their choice
Then the guild can set a route on the map where their guild store is located.

    Next to bidding,
travellers can pet the mascot to gain the buff the guild has chosen to attach to their mascot

if your bid is unreasonably low,the mascot will poop on the road ,giving you a penalty to movement speed

    What if the horse served multiple purpose;
like the initial mobile guild store purpose & also to go on a mobile recruitment tour to gain new members?
It allows guilds to launch out about themselves
& I believe the muliple features it would brinng ,would make it serve deeper purpose.
Added it to the suggestion topic created a while ago about content packs for organizing guilds (link in signature)

    & this idea; https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/279650/alliance-mount-as-per-alliances-symbol/p1
fits well with this one.(Although the the idea about flying mounts has gone a bit too far in that one)

It is a pitty that ideas are so fragmented all over the forum
I think it is important to see what connects & now that all is said about this I won't bump this no more.

ESO should implement an Auction Horse. That's right... Horse.

This horse would wander around Tamriel and there would only be one. Players who find the horse can look at what it's carrying, bid on it. Once the auction ends, the Auction Horse sends you your items via mail (or Courier of they ever implement a realistic courier service...). Again, the ONLY way to access the Auction Horse is to FIND the one Auction Horse as it wanders Tamriel.
    AbyssinianPackHorse.jpg

However, this isn't just any old horse... The Auction Horse is the horse of Clavicus Vile! Every day at dawn the horse just "appears" in a different zone and stays there until the next dawn. This way the horse can be in Stormhaven one day and Bal-Foyen the next! He would change location according to the Tamriel day, not our day. It might even be a good idea to have the horse not appear every Tamrielic day. Perhaps the horse only shows up once in a 3 Tamrielic day period and which day within each 3 day period is random. This way it wouldn't be guaranteed that the horse would be available all the time.

To accommodate the Auction Horse, each item placed in any guild store should have bartering enabled, for a separate bartering fee. This should be as simple as having a check box "Allow Bartering?". A player will then set the asking price for their item. Shoppers can choose to either pay the asking price or barter. A player who chooses to barter risks not winning the item because another player may choose to outright buy the item. No player can see another player's offer. Each player must pay the amount of their offer at the time of their offer.

Once the listing has expired, if no player outright bought the item for the selling price, the seller receives the highest offer in their mail. The seller can choose to accept or decline the offer. If the seller declines the offer, all those who made offers receive their gold back with the notification that the item did not sell. If the offer is accepted then everyone who made offers lower will receive their offer in the mail with a report of the final selling price. All correspondences should from the Auction Horse itself!

All bartered items will be viewable in their respective Guild Stores. If a Guild Store wins a bid to be represented by a Guild Trader (or just outright hires one), that guild trader will give that guild the option to make a tribute to Clavicus Vile. If a tribute is made, all items in that guild store that have bartering enabled will ALSO appear on the Auction Horse. In this way, players can view MANY items that are up for bartering when browsing the Auction Horse's inventory.

The Auction Horse should begin its day at dawn and make it's way toward one of the zones towns or cities. The horse should mosey along the road and any player that accesses the horse should disappear from the game while they are accessing the Auction Horse. Unlike other wandering merchants, the Auction Horse should NOT stop when accessed. When a player leaves the Auction Horse they will need to catch up to the horse if they wish to access it again. The Auction Horse should move at a snails pace, perhaps even slower than walking.
    ToQXOvi.jpg?1

When the horse reaches the town or city, no other players will be allowed to access the Auction Horse and all players currently accessing the Auction Horse will be given a 60 second timer. At the end of those 60 seconds, all players are booted from the Auction Horse and the horse relaxes, eats grass, and sleeps until dusk. Players can speak to the horse who will tell them stories, jokes, and rumors. At dusk, the Auction Horse gets back on the road out of town and players can once again access the Auction Horse. Once the horse reaches the end of the road at the edge of the zone, it disappears. Players will be given the same 60 second warning they are given when the horse reaches towns and cities.

At dawn, the horse reappears at the edge of a different zone, walking toward the next town.

This symbiotic relationship should help the guild stores and guild traders retain their usefulness while ALSO enabling an Auction House mechanic in ESO that could fit into the lore quite snugly.

Will YOU be lucky enough to find the Auction Horse? heheh

NOTE: This idea started out as a joke... but now I actually think it would kind of fun to have an Auction Horse.

THAT IS ONE HELL OF AN IDEA MAN
