Not because I don't like free things - I really do. And to be honest, a crown experience scroll is pretty damn good considering I did exactly nothing to earn it. But I got that same familiar feeling from when I used to play Neverwinter Online. This is not a flattering comparison. There are many games ESO should aspire to be compared to, and Neverwinter isn't one of them.
I get that ESO is a product, and it's primary purpose is to generate revenue. Read, accepted, and fully understood. But surely ZOS can accomplish these goals without embarrassing practices like this? I mean, if these daily rewards don't deliver more people logging-in regularly, then ZOS will be pretty much out of tricks. They've already got the TF2 crates, they've got the in-game ads, and now the daily rewards. The last stop on this train is Pay-To-Win City. We're not there yet, but damn.

Login rewards were not invented by Neverwinter. They are a common practice in MMO's. Let's take a step away from the whole "Oh noes here comes teh slippery slopez", okay? Did you ever consider that they figured it would be a nice thing to do for the player?
Anyway, I know this thread is bait, and I took it... but I don't really care.

I never complain about free stuff.

It's impulsive behavior - a lot of "systems" are designed to exploit that, very true - like "limited time offers" or the gambling crates for example.

Now I'm just sitting back with popcorn, waiting for ZO$ to slip up and introduce blatant P2W and lose 80% of their current player base. Then 2 years down the line realise they alienated most of their loyal players and try to revert back to a sub-only MMO, but by then a new competition will have come out and they don't stand a chance, finally obliterating any interest the TES fanbase will have in a TES MMO. But that's just a history other MMO's have followed, let's hope I'm wrong.
