I agree, most time I use guild traders is because I want something fast.No buyout? wtf. NO! I'm not going to wait 5 days just for a carrot. If i'm going to have to wait 5 days I might as well just go farm it myself. Plus, if I were to bid for a silly carrot I might even risk being outbid so now what? Bid for another carrot and wait another couple of days. LOL. No thanks. Current system far outclasses the "No Buyout AH".
And don't even get me started with the trolls who would intentionally drive the prices up by going into a bid war.
What global AH does is making all prices on the same lvl (you wont be able to buy something cheaper as it is now, if something is worth 20k you wont find anybody who would sell it for 15k, you will have prices like 19999, 19998 etc), it helps with creating monopoly of rare goods (there are 3 items on AH, each worth 500k, someones buys all of them, does it next day and next day if any, then after a week he starts to sell them for 2kk and buys all the rest if something is sold for lower price, all he needs to do is sit at AH. Now he would have to visit at least best trader spots and dig through them so its much much longer and harder), AH makes things harder to sell (oh Ive just refined 10 temp alloys, Im gonna sell it. Whats the lowest price? 10k ea? Ok so ill sell them for 9,5 ea. Few minutes later some guy does the same thing but he sets his price at 9499 so he is at first page with best price. Suddenly you are on 4th page after few minutes.)
Trust me Ive seen it all already in each mmo with AH. Dont go that way...

This ^^^
Because a true auction house is worse than a central trade kiosk.

I left that game long before the first expansion. It was the epitomy of boring grind.

No auction house, and no capes.

And thats EXACTLY why Blizzard shut it down...
It's always interesting to see people want to destroy an aspect of the game that is very much loved by Traders.
In a centralized auction house, basically every farmable mat that can be done by a bot WILL BE SOLD in the auction house for DIRT CHEAP and destroy the value of those items and the ability for players to make gold off of them.
A centralized auction house = a single point of failure aka a rich enough group of players can totally dominate certain items that are rare enough that they can buy up the ENTIRE supply and price gouge.

So why should the tiny percentage of players who CAN engage with the Trader system spoil the game for the 90%+ who can't.
There are ONLY 38.500 Trader slots (77 Kiosks) in the whole game.
That's a massive percentage of players who can't engage with Trading even if they wanted to.
Surely the people who want to Trade but can't, because there has NEVER been enough Trade Slots, should be paying less of a monthly sub than those that do - they are getting restricted access to the game's content.
The ONLY reason they can't Trade is because ZeniMax choose not to let them.

Well make up your mind.
Which is it?
Will prices for everything be "dirt cheap" or will be getting "gouged" on everything.
The paranoid scare stories about AH do make me laugh, and I don't even want an AH - I just want fair access for ALL players to the Trade System.
