Maintenance for the week of September 1:
• [COMPLETE] Xbox: NA and EU megaservers for patch maintenance – September 3, 4:00AM EDT (8:00 UTC) - 12:00PM EDT (16:00 UTC)
• [COMPLETE] PlayStation®: NA and EU megaservers for patch maintenance – September 3, 4:00AM EDT (8:00 UTC) - 12:00PM EDT (16:00 UTC)

We need a true auction house. With auction only and NO buyout.

This is the worst idea I've ever seen. Sorry to OP, I don't mean to offend you in any way, but there are going to be literally thousands of bots on at once, making sure those bids are secured.

There was a browser based MMO by the name of Cabal; they introduced the auction house with no buyout and the servers were so flooded with ^^THIS that they continually crashed and were taken down almost daily. They introduced the buyout with a quick buy function and it ended up working fine but that auction house had major issues with inflation and the economy tanked.

    Don't bring this to ESO.

Bring Buyout AH to ESO, not No Buyout

    Did...did I not say that?
The headline is AH with NO buyout. I responded to that my friend. I like the traders but do wish there was a centralized hub for them or at least access to all through the bankers. Like a search for an item and it lists out all traders for that item.

    I could go for that.

I challenge anyone to name 1 game with an AH whose economy is as dysfunctional as ESO's.

    I can't because :
    - ESO is my first and only MMO
    - I don't consider ESO's economy to be dysfunctional in any way. It might not suit everyone's taste, but it's perfectly functional as a game within the game.

It is not about "auction house". It is about lack of proper trading system for "solo" & small guilds players. The only way is to spam chat with "WTS xyz" etc. and hope for the best.
ZOS could at lest give us a merchant npc (one for each alliance) that will "house" independent sellers - of course there will be limits, like 1 item per day, or 5 items per week etc. - so the big trading guild will not lose their position.

I suspect that even if there will be an "auction house" It might be exploited from the go. In other mmos I think there was this issue where big guilds were rising the action price to ridiculously high values, and then they simply "rigged" all prices for all significant items.

guild traders are good idea but without auctions and buy orders its broken tool and whole economy is broken, zenimax could add contracts between players i.e. wtb contract for hunding rage set , celestial , any crater can go to the contracting npc and take whatever he can do , buyer and seller both can save the time, server maybe get less lag from spamming wtb wts on chats

until then eso has economy run by npces not players

I love the auction house in Forza Horizon 3. it works. it would be good it that was implemented.

however, it would impact guild traders massively I think.

eve online has awesome economy , run by players , buy orders sell orders contracts , even there trading hubs are similiar to the eso concept of trading hubs, here is just sell orders with no proper pricing of items , much of them are less worth on gt then on npc ( to sell), everything could cost 1g with that mechanics , there is no reason even to trade ,

other thing what is missing is open pvp - deaths and loss of equipement is vital to trading , and open pvp is good for killing bots in game too :)
