since the new patch came, i do daily crafting quests with 7 characters everyday. but master writ dropped just once time(for 6 writ vouchers). is this justice?! i do everyday and daily I'm wasting my time an hours. People dropped 106 writ vouchers :/

    A.) RNG
B.) The MW's which drop are based upon how much your character knows for the specifc crafts of Alchemy and Runes, plus how many Gold/Purple recipes your character knows for Provisioning and finally how many non-"factional character racial" motifs you know for the equipment.

I'm not making any excuses for ZOS though, just giving you data to evaluate whether your characters fulfill the conditions for high drop rates.

Just confirming you are doing max level (Craglorn turn-in) writs?

Master writ drops are only a chance in the max level writ containers ...

Of course my all crafter characters's crafting levels are 50

Thank you for informations but i'm doing prov. and alchemy with just two characters and but i'm doing blacksm. woodw. and cholt. all of them. So why didnt MW drops yet? Some of my friends dropped 2-3 with just one characters. Could you get me calculate the mathematical probability of this event? i'm doing with 27 Daily crafting quest and someone doing with 3 Daily c. quest. is this justice?

same here and with a friend of mine, she got none at all, I got two and since then (3 days) nothing - I really doubt that this is all bad luck...and yes, we are talking 50/50/50, loaded with motifs and delivering in Craglorn :)

The only writs I get are ones for 5 or 6 vouchers, and this on a char with all the motifs that were avail before homestead and 9 traits on everything, so if the writs are supposed to give more vouchers the more your char knows it is broken.

ZOS listened to the complainers that too many writs were dropping requiring legendary upgrades so blame them if you only see 2-6 vouchers per writ. We could have had more 70+ writs but people complained about using legendary mats without realizing that we would have far fewer large writ rewards if they were reduced in frequency.

As for not receiving many master writs in general, you just have to keep at it. I'm doing 12 maxed toons a day and some days only see 2 - 3 master writs from those 72 turn ins. The vast majority are alchemy and enchanting. Provisioning seems to be low due to the fact that not all provisioning max writs are actually max, even though they turn in at Craglorn. I'm hoping ZOS can take a look at that to confirm.

There was mentioned in the patch notes that the probability of getting master writs is higher when there are more achievements on your character.

That explains why some people are getting lots of writs just on one character while others get none on lots of alts.

it makes sense. i dropped two MW(6 writ vouchers) until today and these are dropped with my main two characters that i collect most of achievement points(almost 15k)

Even so i think the possibility of dropping does not work RIGHT. Or I'm always on the wrong side of the possibilites :'(

Tradeskill mastery (which determines your odds of receiving a master writ from a top tier writ reward box) is meant to imply a long-term dedication to the craft. This varies from tradeskill to tradeskill.

For Blacksmithing, Clothier, and Woodworking, this means motif knowledge and overall completion of trait research. This does not include Crown-exclusive motifs or motifs for the 9 base player races. It focuses on motifs that take some effort to learn – like Xivkyn, or Minotaur, or Celestial.
For Provisioning, this is instead your collection of known purple and gold recipes as they are a strong overall representation of dedication to craft.
With Enchanting, we instead look at the total overall rune word translations you’ve completed on that character.
And with Alchemy, we look at how many reagents from which you’ve completely learned all effects.

Over time, the contributing factors for this may expand as the associated tradeskill mechanics do.

This is not true for my main crafter (in all 6 disciplines). She has 9 traits, all passives in all skills, has every crafting related achievement prior to update 13 and has completed several of the new achievements with the Homestead update.

The only style-chapters that are incomplete are the Update 13 Chapters, Akaviri, Yokudan and Ancient Orc.
NB. Despite having farmed both public dungeons in Wrothgar many times (on several different chars) I have only picked up 1 chapter! I could buy A-Orc with accumulated Crowns but refuse to do so - my choice.

I have not counted how many Food and Drink recipes she knows - there are probably a handful that she might not know. She knows Psiijic Ambrosia and has 2 compete spare sets of chapters in the bank.

Perusing the "Achievement Vendour" sales lists, I have only found only one or two that are locked for purchase. These are all PvP/Cyrodiil ones.

As of yesterday, she had completed 7 days of Daily Writs on each of the 6 Crafts - total = 42 writs.

    Maser Writ Result Summary
    • Enchanting x 2 - one for 6 vouchers and one for 2 vouchers.
    • Provisioning x 1 for 2 vouchers.
    • Blacksmith x 1 for 7 vouchers. Is it a coincidence that the chapter she needs to complete it is an Akaviri one she has not learnt yet?
    • Woodwork x 1 for 6 vouchers. Is it a coincidence that the style required was Redistributor and that she does not do PvP?
The only items I would be interested in buying from the Master Writ Vendour would be the 2 x Practice Skelletons and the Ebony Book (it will save on grind or gold). I do not use experience boosting potions so I am not bothered about Mythic Ambrosia but practicing on the Skelleton (on PTS) improved my DPS no end. At the rate of voucher collecting my wish-list will take forever!

It looks as though I will be forced into the Crown Store to buy at least the standard dummy because I cannot wait that long. You win ZOS.

Perhaps I have just been unlucky but is there the beginning of a trend forming here?

I know I am going to get flamed but reading this a several other threads about the MCW it does appear that the tendency is to give you writs for styles, recipes, traits, etc that you do not know, irrespective of your "knowledge". This would then lead you down the only path, farm for a super rare recipe or style or just go and pony up the cash in the crown store. I like that most everything can be obtained from the world but the fact that the chance is so incredible low makes this look more and more like a cash grab. Understanding that human nature is to take the path of least resistance, especially with character as advanced as yours, find the last chapter or style out of hundreds is very coincidental indeed.

Well @SGT_Wolfe101st here is an update for the last 2 days of normal writs for my main crafter.
    • The bad news is 0 Master Writs across the board for both days - thus 54 daily writs completed so far.
    • The worse news is I caved in and bought the standard training dummy with accumulated crowns - 1,500c
    • The even worse news is that the dummy is not working properly! My dps has dropped from what it was before I began training on the PTS. It is showing at about 0.25 of what it is in game. Perhaps that is something to do with all the buffs and resistances that Argonians have.
    • The culmination of the bad news is that today the yellows, AD had taken over almost the whole of the red area, EP zone. My crafter is EP. My plan for today was to take my crafter to IC. That plan has been put on hold for now.
    Now for the good news
    • One of the alts brought home a Provisioning Master Writ (worth 2 whole vouchers) that my Main Crafter devoured with great relish. Hey, beggars are grateful for these small mercies.
    • My Crafter and Alts are bringing home Design Recipes; some of them are Epic grade.
True, I am disappointed but I am not stressed out about it. There are so many things in this game to keep all my Chars occupied for a long time yet. I shall keep doing daily writs on my main crafter but as for the others, they can simply go out adventuring and realise their full potential.

I have found over the past week that I have been getting more writs (albeit, low value ones) from my crafters with lower "overall" crafting knowledge than my mastercrafter with all traits and all crafting achievements (less the 4 new motifs and some purple recipes).

Are they counting all the new achievements and motifs? Are your chances worse if you haven't harvested 100 of each of the new furniture mats, or learned 25 of each of the new furniture pattern types, or all of the pages of the several new motifs that just started dropping this week, for example?
