Free AP quests?

Where I can find those famous free AP quests? Yesterday I read a topic here, one of "what should I do with my millons of AP/there must be only 2-3 50 rank pvp in game, so they should delete AP from quests in Cyrodiil". Okay, I always wanted Caltrops since every 2nd guide in tamrielfondry use them. It was too hard for me cause of lags, so maybe Zeni found some mercy in their black hearts...
Spent an hour, made all 10 quests in Chorrol... recieved 2 rewards 250 AP each.
Cyrodiil has 5 quest hubs, so if 500 AP in each, it'll be 2500 AP daily for 5 hours of time.
Google says I need 88000 AP for Caltrops. Okaaaaa... so I need to spent more than MONTH playing in Cyrodiil 5-6 hours daily to get it?

Its stupid and probably not worth of TOP PvP players complain about "AP rewards in quests".
Not mention about crybeaching that AP in quests let PvE'rs get PvP rank 50 just as they are.
Because you need like more than 100 years to get it without PvP, only on quests.

So here's the question again: where are those "free AP quests"? All I need from Cyro is damn 1 (probably 2, Vigor seems nice as additional healing) skill.
I'm not one of those WoW guys who's leaking from PvP and run in golden grade sets even in "below lvl 50" zone since its scaling their armors anyways.

just go and kill some enemies.
even for inexperienced players it shouldn't take that long

Yeah, i tried. Its too laggy in massive assaults for my old i7 3770 and/or GTX 660.
It'll be easier in massive raid groups (AP from other's kills), but noone invite noobs like me. Largest group I was in 2 days is 7 players, mostly like me, 20-30 lvls.
I tried using siege weapons too, but everyone is just teleporting on me, no matter where i'm standing.
In "below 50" battleground I met few enemy players, but guess what, my NB stuns doesnt work on them at all. Everyone just ignoring stuns. Ambush, Bombards, others... 0 sec stuns on everyone.
One of those i met was NB lvl15. So guess what, I'm (NB level 30) hurt him for ~5-10% with my Ambush and doesnt stunned at all, he hit me with his Ambush for 1/3 of hp (andI was stunned) and killed me in 2 hits even before I had a chance to breakfree.

It remings me WoW low-level battlegrounds where 99% of people are [snip] in top equipment. You cant hurt them, they can kill you with one move of a brow.

i have no experience in the below level 50 campaigns. i don't know if levels are getting adjusted there.

if he can't be stunned he either drank an immovability pot or still had CC immunity because he was previously stunned. if bombard din't root him, it sounds like immovability pot to me.

i don't know on which server and campaign you play. if you experience lag (not huge fps drops) it might be on the server side, as ZOS still can't handle huge battles and a huge mass of players. if that's the case, change campaign.

group size doesn't always matter, you can make good APs without zerging ;)

an alternative might be going to IC and getting some APs there.

Find a quiet campaign where your faction owns most of the map, ask around in PvE if you're not sure which.

Port into said campaign and buy a load of wall repair stones from the siege merchant. Simply port then to each friendly keep and run around the courtyard checking on walls that are below 100% health and use your repair stones to repair them. Since the 88000 you need is based on the total accrued over your character lifetime and not stored up you can spend all your AP to buy stones which generate more AP.

Additionally, pick up the scouting quests. They each grant 250AP and provided they're not too far from the front lines can be done in 5 minutes. Of course, the more keeps your alliance holds the more AP you get from everything above.

All of this can be done without or with very little contact with other players and associated lag.

stones cost more AP than you gain. which means he would have to buy stones with gold. might be an option, but i personally wouldn't go for it.

88000 / 250 = 352 Quests. each quest will take around 5 minutes depending on where it is and on your mount speed.

    352 * 5 / 60 = ~29 hours doing those quests. sounds boring and not really feasible.

I'd still go for players or a mix (which is quite normal). get quests and do them if you are around your objective. if you are fighting in a keep (defending or attacking), repair the walls. or with other words, just play how everyone does except AP farm groups.

Equip a restoration staff, slot healing springs and rapid regeneration, follow a friendly zerg around as it clashes with enemy zerg, spam healing springs on the ground where the two forces meet. Make sure you are not the one who gets targeted next (stay behind the friendly zerg and keep moving to always have friendly players between you and the enemy). Watch the AP roll in. No need to be grouped with anyone.

So, AP leveling is repair walls on defence siege, spam healing while near battle and do scout quests when your alliance dominating Cyro? I can live with this ^^ Now need to ask someone to craft me good healing staff...
Anyways, ~30 hours of scouting quests is a bit faster than ~180 hours of hub questing with 2500 daily cap.
    Caltrops, caltrops, caltrops... :3

Thank you, guys. Making thread here was much more helpful, than asking all of my guilds xD

I'd agree that participating in PVP is the quickest way, but since the OP has issues with lag the above suggestions all involve avoiding direct PvP or players altogether.

With the stones, it's a case of diminishing returns, but any saved up AP or gained from other resources can be used to buy them and gain more AP again. Much more useful if staying away from fighting than spending it on siege or door repair kits

Also worth mentioning that the Fighters guild bounty quests give 750 AP for each 1 you turn in (and an ornate item to sell). You need to have unlocked it from the Fighters guild passive line and can run about 3 a day fairly quickly if you work out where the specific enemies spawn and your alliance has keeps close enough to get to them.

Make sure to kill a Cyrodiil delve boss before gaining AP too, as this gives you a bonus on AP earnt for 60 mins.

Healing zergs - worth. Aoe healing = good ap.
Scount quests - if we're controlling map (fast teleports).
Repairing walls - 51 ap for 90g/300ap (same kits, same ap) with 5% bonus.

Since there's always walls to repair, repairing is fastest (except pvp) and easiest way to get ap (literally buy it), but it'll be 317,5k gold from rank 3 (8000ap) to caltrops skill (188000ap).

Most of my ap gain is from repairing, i can get 70k ap at the right time of the day in 2 hours, however it is really costly and boring and god the sound of it is annoying > _ <, other methods that would work but not as fast as repairing in my opinion is defensive and offensive ticks.

So definitely Blackwater Blade(Non vet, less skills being used, less lag), easiest lag free way is repairing walls, remember those towers at the resources(farm, mine and lumber) they can be repaired as well. :)

Next easiest way, healing, stay at back of group, spam rapid regen or springs, every time you heal someone who has made a kill the AP roles in. :)

Finally jump in and kill stuff, most likely situation to experience lag, however depending on your class/playstyle, using ranged skills, therefore standing back from main fight can make lag more bearable. :)

Oh and don't forget playing in off peak hours can make BWB completely lag free on PC-EU!!

Just go do some zerg surfing and do your daily kill quests, shouldn't take you more than a day or 2 to do that.

BTW between NA/EU I think there are around 20 or so rank 50's, a few people have got it in the last few weeks on NA so that number may be a bit higher now.

PvP is a skill. Different from PvE. Don't expect to be successful your first time in. It takes being killed hundreds of times before you start to learn and get better. We've all done it. Each time you get killed, figure out why it happened and what you could've done better next time. over time, you'll get better.

    Easy AP:
Find a large keep battle where the enemy is attacking your faction keep - go to the keep and sit on top of a wall, either siege down or pewpew with yer bow. There is no need to engage in the battle below, just sit in the keep, even if you don't kill anything. When the battle is over and your faction successfuly defended the keep you will get what is called a "Defense Tick" - a large AP reward for defending a keep evenly distributed to all players in the keep zone whether or not they actually did anything or not, you could just go afk near a way shrine and reap it's rewards.
Def ticks wary from few hundred AP to dozens of thousands of AP, depending how long was the siege.
Get a few nice juicy def ticks and you will have your vigour and caltrops without lifting a finger, whether it's lagging or not. Then go around finding damaged keep walls and repair them, you get the 60-80 (depending whether you have the buffs or not) per each repair action. So if a wall is down to say 40% - you can easily get over 800AP just for repairing that part of the wall, and a keep has lots of walls.... And there are a lot of keeps....
There is a reason why people call some emperors "The emperor of wall repair" as that is what they do in between fights - find random damaged walls/doors all around the map and repair them frantically.

There are tons of ways to earn AP without actually engaging in the battle, all you need to do is just do a bit of looking around...

Imperial City is relatively lag free with low ping and higher frame rate for older PCs. Same goes for the low pop campaigns or high pop campaign if you avoid prime time.

Those big groups tend to result in worse lag / performance issues for me. I try to avoid them, whether they are friendly or enemy, and steer clear of keeps under siege during prime time.

For stamina NB with a bow, you should be able to earn around 20k - 30k AP / hr setting up at a spot in between keeps to gank enemy players passing by.
In "below 50" battleground I met few enemy players, but guess what, my NB stuns doesnt work on them at all. Everyone just ignoring stuns. Ambush, Bombards, others... 0 sec stuns on everyone.

Everyone is in the same boat the first time they try PVP. It requires practice to improve. The difference between being an AP pinata and one of those really strong players is they spent a lot of time practicing at small battles and 1v1s etc.

Have a friend log on to a different faction character to help you practice your attacks or combos and CC etc. Or join a dueling guild.

Buy meatbag catapults and flaming oils. Find keep needing defense. Siege wall breaches and run oils above open posterns. You can run multiples at once. You'll "tag" a ton of players and be contributing to the defense in a valuable way. D-ticks are awesome. After a successful defense, repair walls and doors.
