What if I just set up my subscription next month? Do I get my free 30 days?

Yes please refer to the original post.

Not everyone is made out of money, and some people made a huge sacrifice just to purchase your game, with the idea they would be able to play for 30 days FREE ( AS PROMISED) before they have to worry about activating. Those €12 or $15 you put on hold could mean your users go a week without eating. Please think before you do this kind of foolishness again.

Give everyone 30 days free and your 47 (and growing) pages will be resolved. Not to mention that the amount of people posting here are only a tiny fraction of those who are experiencing this issue.

    ---
Also, I like how the response is 'instead of calling us out in public for our bad judgement, you should call us so we can put you on hold for a few hours and you shut up

Just chiming in with my two cents of agreement: paying $130 for a game expecting a month of game time included, only to be asked for more money before accessing it... I'm sure that breaks an Australian Consumer Law or two...
  • Faturochman13
    I work 1 month, only get $ 130.
if I have to spend money to buy a 30 day game time,
I would not eat one month, there is no clarity where free 30 days
  • ts.longb14_ESO
Okay - S, like with most, this isn't making me very happy.... .... I paid 60 bucks for a 5 day teaser. Yay! :)

If you cant set up the recurring subscription due to lack of money on your card, you can contact support and they will help you out! (If you wonder where to find all this, check the first post of the thread!)

I can't even get to the area to pay them anything - Yeah, I read that - I think it said do it and call us - and we'll get you in. I can't "do it" because I don't know how. From what I read off the other complaints, There is a different code that is coming with my actually game (which is still in the mail for a couple of days..), I think. I don't know. The code I have didn't get me anywhere. As I said, this is difficult. I am not techy/online savvy. I don't know what "MMO" stands for - I go on facebook less than 10 times a year. The product needs to be user friendly. This isn't user friendly. I also HATE having to make phone calls and/or send emails about this crap. Even this second post is annoying me now.

*sigh* but if I don't want my money going to waste - it seem like I have no choice but to call or mail or whatever- Like I don't have enough crap to do on Sunday. Right now, what I want to do is return the product because I had a customer service issue before- I couldn't get into the online store to buy the game. When I received word back they wanted my credit card information. (WHY?) ...Anyway, I said no and that when I get access to the store and buy the game then they will receive that info. Well, I never got access to the store - So I used Amazon which didn't offer the Imperial.

Blah - Way too much trouble - Too much work- Just let me return the product- This whole deal is ruining my Sunday and the happy-glad celebrations for the return of GAME OF THRONES! :)

    Boo ESO - - - Yay GoT !!! : P

This situation is unfortunately a well thought out scam/con as with hedge funds and the ilk.
You are given 30 days of game time free, but as long as you give your card details and you have to have the amount in that account to cover the payment plan you requested.
Your money is not taken from your account, but the amount is ghosted in that it is available to access and used to show projections for what funds the company will have access to come next month.
Mostly for company projections and profits, via banks interest, but mostly to show a return to shareholders who keep the board of directors in a job.
    Poor practice.

This system is flawed. They do not need our information to give us what we ALREADY paid for. This is how it should work: first we buy the game. After the transaction is complete, we get to play the game for the allotted time. At the end of that time, our account get's blocked until we pay to have it reopened.

They don't need to test it; they just need to not open up your access until they get paid. This having to test it an entire month early is bogus. I already paid for the game (as have we all), and I expect to be able to play it until my time expires. Then I will either pay the fine to continue to play it, or I may take a break (sense I'm not that much into gaming anymore, but this game is rockin'). But I should NOT have to pay after already paying to play what I already paid to play.

It's not rocket science; it's common sense. We made a deal, ESO and I, -I pay them $60 to buy their game and play it for 30 days. I paid them $60, and they let me play it for about a week. I'm waiting for them to uphold their end of the bargain.

Someone put up a number earlier and I've been on hold for two hours. I have sent a support ticket for a phone call and email a few hours ago. I've only got the survey response, no real acknowledgment as of yet.

1.) I use cash. The requirement to play the game says you need a subscription. Cool. You said I could use a game card, and I can't. So that is your fault and not mine.

2.) I already gave you $80, clearly I am already dedicated enough to give this a game a chance. Why do I have to prove I have money? I obviously figured out how to get $80, the rest is none of your business.

Since when do you have to prove you can buy more to use something you've already bought? Maybe before I can buy the product that could be a requirement, but not after I buy it.

I've been playing MMORPGs since 1998 with Everquest and never had seen such a despicable act to try to get subscriptions. Behind these bad decisions there is always a fool with a baton leading the roost. We need to pamper the customer. We must ensure that loves the game, something that will never happen if we ask the credit card by force. It is the player who must decide to make use of the card. That's something you learn in the first year of commercial marketing.

And let's not talk about the 30 free days ... I'm stunned.

Forss_Davidb16_ESO you remind me of the boy with his finger in the ***, but all credit to you at least you're trying and its appreciated.
BUT - to add to the sarga:
-According to your site payment is available in English Pounds, Euro's, and US Dollars.
The cost effective option for any player in Oceania is US Dollars, if I have those currency options why are you giving me no choice but the most expensive option, Euro's?
11.99 Euro is $(NZ)19.13 add currency conversion charges on the Visa and its close to $20/month, the US Dollar option is $(NZ)16.40.
I dare say Zen will not force the US market to pay in Euro's so why should I have to?
    Cheers

Why weren't we given a redeemable code for this. Instead I had to go buy a prepaid credit card cause there are no retailers for any of the listed ones or ESO cards available in my city in a country not America yet and if it follows wow we will never have the prepaid cards. A redeemable code would have been nice.

Why do i need to insert a game card code already. I still have 30 days left bought with the game.

So why do i need to insert a code to continue to play before 6 april??????

Because of this: 30 DAYS UNLIMITED GAME PLAY INCLUDED WITH PURCHASE. VALID PAYMENT METHOD OR PAID GAME TIME CARD FOR SUBSCRIPTION AND PERSISTENT INTERNET CONNECTION REQUIRED.

30 Days Included With Purchase .(Period)

Ok purchase completed. Where's my 30 days?

Obviously a valid payment method or pre paid card will be required to add time to the subscription.

And the game is an mmo, so of course you gota be online.

But that period in *looking at the back of my box, really does change the meaning of the text.

    If it said lets say:

"30 bonus days included with the purchase of your first subscription payment"

See then it would be different, still *** but It wouldn't be false/misleading advertising.

As a pensioner this holding a certain amount of my money for authorisation is irritating and has caused me an inconvenience, it was not expected and I sure as hell hope that it clears soon. In future perhaps you should consider holding $1, not $15, $30 for me and my Son.

People really do complain about anything and everything. ZOS, you guys are doing a great job bringing a single player franchise to the MMO world, and great job on your first ever MMO.

This game reminds me a lot of Asheron's Call. A game that i've been paying $14.95/month off and on since 1998 (okay, it was 9.99/month back then). I bring this up as a point, that's also another subscription MMO which requires payment authorizations before playing your first 30 days. And it's one of the oldest! Not every company does it the WoW way (to whom referenced "the biggest MMO out there", for better or for worst.

Don't let the chorus of QQ bring you down. Just remember all the positive people are too busy playing. - or patiently waiting for the game to patch. :)

While technically true, that it would be complaining about anything, Its a fully justified complaint. I could break my leg and complain about that justly so right? I mean I can get robbed and complained about that right?

People are complaining about not being able to play the game they paid for, people are also complaining about being charged 15 bucks when the screen clearly says 0.00. I mean that seams pretty legit right?

This issue has gotten so big, there was a post on kotaku's blog about this. If the issue is that big, i would hope the amount would be refunded within a few days, and not "up to 30 days"

I knew there would be an issue with my account not having the funds in it to cover a sub charge(sorry-ass account, what good are you?) on 4/4 so I called and recieved a call back from Zeni. The agent told me at that time"no problem you have 30 days...just set up the sub when your account allows it.You have time,no problem" I was locked out 3-4 hours ago and can not set up a sub due to said insubordinate account. So I wait, again,on the return call to get told ,again, that I can continue playing until I set it up.Thing is,I already went through this process and yet here we are.I am forced to hear of others frantic battles with pixils and legendary fights with vertexs' Oh the humiliation of having a bank account that does not what it is told, only what it wants to do....stupid account.

All I *** care is that I want my money back. I purchased the game and so I have the RIGHT to my FREE 30 days of game time. You still wanted me to setup a subscription. You still billed me. You haven't returned my money. I want it back, that's all I care about. Either that, or I can already forsee a community-joint lawsuit incoming.
