ignorance is bliss....
please link where they spelled out that the pre-auth would be full cost of sub?
One more time i hear someone say its only 15.00.... not everyone just chose the $15 sub some ppl chose the more pricey version which resulted unknowingly in some outstanding authorization charges and can lead to some financial probs as a result of this. to add not everyone has CC so they have to pay for another 30 days up front.
Your response is a classic "not my problem" response. your not even trying to understand the situation but instead insulting and using irrelevant logic to try and drive your "im right, you're wrong" point.
Have you ever bought gas? Have you ever rented a car? Have you ever booked a hotel room?
Some of you should try these arguments on those merchants. I'd be interested in hearing the results.
If you don't have a credit card, or can't use a credit card, and all you're left with is a game time card instead, can't you call them? Isn't that what they said? I do understand the argument. And my counter-argument is they will work with you. They said they don't want to deny anyone who wants to play.
So my question is- has anyone contacted their Support and been refused? Maybe that's the real thing. All I see is complaining over not being able to do what you want to do when you want to do it. Zenimax didn't say: "sorry, you need a CC. Can't play without one."
Irrelevant logic? Well, here's what I see is relevant. Zenimax lays down the rules. Some don't like the rules. Zenimax gives you an alternative. Flexibility. But it's still not enough.
One more thing. Would you sign up for the more pricey version if you didn't have the money? I wouldn't. But that's me. I won't judge. I have a suggestion. If you want to setup a 90-day and were charged a hold and can't afford the hold, my suggestion is setup a one-month. Now we are talking about a matter of Zenimax charging a $2 auth as opposed to the full. The difference being the price of a combo meal, or a movie ticket. Or smokes, depending on the state you live in.
Or let's say you are entirely cash basis and can't get to the bank to deposit the Benjamins you have lying around until Monday. I think I saw that argument too. I see. Well, you wait until Monday. Then you play.
Again, not getting what we want right now when we want it. That's the argument. It's not denial of service, unless one of you says you've been denied by their Support. Then that's a whole new ball game. So when you talk irrelevancy while at the same time refusing to acknowledge that Zenimax offers to help, I think you my friend just want to keep the bad feelings rolling. And that's too bad.
See, it's real easy to join the hate mob, because hate is easy. It's much harder to see the forest for the trees. Then we might have to admit what we thought before is not quite what we are seeing or hearing now. And crow is such a difficult bird to swallow.
Well Zenimax is acting just like every other company at this point we care about
our customer, well there has ben no updates in this thread. Nothing from them at least.
Actually I have had better response's from F2P than what is going on here.
My suggest to everyone that is complain(even myself).
Go get you refunds from the place you bought the game through.
If you look at International, or your countries banking laws you will find it is Illegal to this, The pre authorization for a charge is for when you have purchased a product, Well in this case you are not purchasing a product they want to make sure your card is good.
Now they can charge you a 1 dollar, 2 dollar up to 5 dollar verification fee.
But they cannot pre authorize a 30 day in advance or take the money before you are actually paying for the service Under the law. Zenimax knows this
there merchant knows this is covered under international banking laws.
Either Zenimax or there merchant is in over there heads flip a coin to which it
company.
That it in a nutshell, So I am going to give them a few more days to fix this problem. They have not replied to me in any way shape or form either, have had ticket in for over 24 hrs now. Even though I do have a CC and could put it up to play , I prefer game cards which I am not going to buy just to get my first 30 days free it is the Principle and Integrity of the company doing what they
said they were going to do.
The rules clearly states that they wont charge you until the 30 days are up, charging 15 bucks to authorize and give it back is still charging. I have money cash and not on Credit Card.. I followed the rules, 7 hours has been spent on support call and still no answer.. I have to sleep in 30 minutes and about 8 hours of my free time today has been spent waiting..
"30 Days unlimited game play included with purchase. Valid Payment method or paid game time card for subscription and persistent internet connection required.
Acceptance of the end user license agreement, terms of service and privacy policy, and account registration using enclosed one-time use activation code, required to play. The 30 days of unlimited game play beings when you select your preferred subscription plan on store.elderscrollsonline.com. Subscription fees only charged for game access after the first 30 days."

He put a day of complimentary time on my account as he thought that'd help, but that didn't work so he manually applied the code to my account and told me to update my subscription within the next month.
I have my issue resolved. Getting Zenimax to phone you seems like the best bet. He was really helpful.
Sound great, and gratz on getting into the game, please answer how long you waited for the call please?

The charge represents an authorization check against the account provided and will be removed once the authorization check is complete.
Exceptions to this general rule are Webmoney, ideal, PaySafeCard, and Giropay.
[Update]
We want everyone who purchased ESO to have immediate access to the included 30 days of ESO game time. In the event that you enter your payment information for authorization and the transaction cancels due to lack of funds in your account, please contact our Support Team. We’ll work with you to ensure you have access to your included 30 days of game time.
Please ensure that you have attempted to enter payment information and had the transaction fail due to lack of funds before submitting a help request. We will get you into the game and playing as soon as possible.
We require you to choose a subscription option and enter valid payment information. For credit cards, debit cards and PayPal there is no charge made until after your included 30 days of game time has expired. For these payment methods, there is an authorization check performed to ensure the payment method is valid. You may see a temporary account authorization hold put on funds in your account while the verification completes. Usually this authorization hold lasts a short period of time before being removed. It can vary from bank to bank.
If you prefer to use one of the following payment methods, payment is processed at the time of selecting your preferred subscription plan.
- Game Time Cards [via Retailer]
- GiroPay
- iDeal
- Paysafe Card
- WebMoney

Several people who contacted phone support has gotten help already and been compensated for the missed days.
And as I said, we should not have to go out of our way to get a service we already paid for. Its a money grab to fill the coffers now verses in a month when I would be paying them. Never mind what if they end game sucks and I quit in three weeks when I hit 50 and am bored? I now wasted money to get what was already mine. Bait and switch is illegal.Forss_Davidb16_ESO wrote: »mccobleb14_ESO wrote: »Do not buy into this "message us to get your free time" non sense. They left their info in the phone support part of the site, later got called and solved it by being calm and polite on the phone with the CSR. If they're not sure what you're talking about, refer them to this thread (first post.) Or explain your situation carefully and try to solve it as efficiently as possible. They've helped others, there should be no problem helping you.
It seems like the waiting time is really long right now, that might be because the EU and US users have different queues(speculation, since some users seem to be called in 30 min and others several hours), and that it's sunday (and late depending on where you are.)
Someone a couple of pages ago who got help said that the CSR told him that he was really sorry for the long wait, that they HAVE to call the people in the order of signing up for phone support.

Ive put in a phonecall back ticket 6 hours ago , and an email. even though i hulk rage in here, im of course gonna be polite with the CSR,( its not their fault). But still.. no reason what so ever to be authenticating and verifying that you have the funds for next month? that is *** to say the least. ive bought the game, gotten 30 days free time, thats all that matters, not wether or not i can pay for the next month, im not loaning money from them or something like that.
But since you apparently work for them or something like that, cant really figure that out, but you sure do know ALOT about their business, then perhaps you can answer this.
I bought the game from Zenimax and they need to verify i can pay for the next month, even though i allready payed up front for april.. why oh why, can my friends buy their game at Playgames, and get a new cdkey for april month in their email? . That just seems... well i dont know.. you tell me?

I can assure you I'm not working at Zenimax, I'm not even located in the US. I don't know A LOT about their business either, I've seen that phone support button before though, and have always preferred phone communication myself to reduce the risk of miscommunication and other nonsense.
I don't know what kind of keys your friends got, since I ordered on Zeni store as well. Up to this point I thought everyone had to set up a sub-plan and authorize before getting into the game, even the ones who bought the game boxed? Do you know if the key they got was a game time key or the actual cd-key they bound the game to their account with? Maybe it was some sort of package deal or something where they'd get a game card + the game? Not sure.
