    No.

I doubt they ever will. Or it will be default "we've cleaned some posts to keep the discussion nice" response.

This is the most disappointed I have ever been in all my years playing.

This is a big milestone anniversary but it feels like anything but a celebration. But it could so easily be turned around by just letting us know we are being heard and increasing the extremely low drop rates on these style pages.

at this point, IF zos says anything about, could only be some poor excuse that they cannot change drop rates during events - bitter sarcasm aside, i doubt they care.....ppl may be upset about drop rate, but still play the game..."numbers are good so everything's fine" - happy numbers or upset numbers are not an issue until they play - IMHO

Spent the day grinding dolmens and vvardenfell WB . 8 hours of no drop .

Fishing though took about 30 mins for the drop

I don't understand zenimax logic. They want people to repeatedly grind the same thing over and over to the point of absolute boredom .

What anniversary celebrations is that ?

You dont have to grind for the style pages if you dont want to?

I think Zos should do more like this in the future with rare style pages or other rare items you can grind for.

Well I read what you said that you " have spent the day grinding for 8 hours "

If you hate grinding in a game then no one is making you to do it? These are style pages that are meant to be rare and if you cant handle the grind then simply just dont grind for them.

No one wants to do the grind but if we want the unique style pages that are part of this celebration there is no other way to get them.

If they want to put other rare items in the game in the future then that is fine because the player will have as long as it takes to try to find them. But these are part of a milestone anniversary event and are only available for a very short time.

Nothing about this feels like a celebration. The only thing this is accomplishing is creating a lot of stress and bad feelings and turning players away.

A little communication acknowledging how frustrating this is for the players would help, but something really needs to be done and I hope nothing like this ever happens again.

Exactly my feelings on this unfortunately.

I’m a huge fan of the game. I have played since the beginning, done everything there is to do, and yet have never experienced a more brutal and mind-numbing grind in ESO. Without any exaggeration, a style page has not dropped for me after completing 250+ geysers…… how much longer do I need to farm for it?? I’m so burnt out of the game now.

The 10th anniversary should’ve been a huge celebration to excite players for the future of ESO. Personally I planned to host big fun guild contests during this event. Now I can’t because huge lack of motivation and everyone in my guilds is too busy grinding, being upset at the grind, or taking breaks from the game due to the grind.

ZOS has really missed out on so many positive opportunities for showcasing ESO to existing and new players with the way they’ve handled this and their lack of a course correction when such a huge number of players began sharing how they felt. I keep seeing things under “News” like “Take a Look at What Players are Saying About the 10th Anniversary Event!” and “ Anniversary Celebration - Watch the Community Come Together in Amsterdam” and “ Check Out Some Amazing Cosplay Showcase at the ESO 10th Anniversary Celebration”. Normally, I would love looking at those articles celebrating my favorite game. But now I’m just not in the mood, it makes me so bitter that the anguished feedback of so many Players seems to be totally ignored. Where is the news article titled “Droves of ESO Players Unhappy With The Grind For Five Iconic Style Pages from ESO’s Past During the Celebration”?

I got the damn pages, after hundreds of tries of what I would describe as literal torture. Slight hyperbole there, but yeah, it was bad.

At this point they better give me 16.000 seals if they choose to increase the drop rate. ;)

Anyway, put rare stuff like that, I don't care, the game needs better rewards and stuff to work towards, just not in the form of FOMO.

IMO the 10th Anniversary should have done something along the lines of this.
    - Let people catch up: Grant five event tickets every day and have all event items ever introduced become available at the Impressario.
    - The style pages: The five pages should have much higher drop rates and be Bind on Equip. Reward players so they fondly remember the anniversary. Do not punish them with a brutal grind.
    - Provide a new experience: Host community-wide world Invasions. Maybe an army of Daedric Titans descend on a city, or an enormously large Sand Worm rises from the wide open dunes of the Alik’r Desert. A timer appears for the Invasion three hours ahead of time with a large indicator on the map of Tamriel, and occurrences happen every three hours for every day during the anniversary. Invasion loot would be 10 random set items not yet unlocked in our stickerbook, 10 Anniversary boxes, and a Bind on Equip runebox.

That’s how you incorporate old zones into the event and create BIG hype for the future of what ESO can offer.

This is exactly what I will think of because it's all that has stood out for me. I have not seen any celebration, just an exhausting grind.

They could double the drop rate on these and they would still be rare. Please, just toss us a crumb of hope.

They warned us ahead of time they'd be pretty rare. So sadly, I think this is the intended experience
And? How does this change the fact that design of this particular aspect of the anniversary event leads to extreme player dissatisfaction?

It doesn't. But this was complained about on the PTS too. They want it this way. They made that clear with the update.

They stated on PTS that the chance was supposed to be extremely small for fishing and a chance for the rest. People noted it was also extremely small for the others. They updated the description now in live. They won't change anything and that update is our communication, unfortunately.

But that's not what happened. The sword drop rate *isn't* extremely small. It is an average drop rate. The other four things *are* really extremely rare. I started with the sword and my expectations set very very wrong and the text update did nothing to help that.

While I agree the drop rates are awful, with some people doing hundreds of dolmens or geysers (and "hundreds" in the literal sense) and getting nothing, I'm almost certain by now the devs won't respond to these complaints. Instead of adjusting the drop rate, they adjusted the text on the announcement page. In a way, their granting the 5 pages in the compensation package for the unfortunate players who were/are locked out is tacit admission they're too hard to get for too many people.

Yes, the devs intended the drop rates to be this low. That doesn't mean they won't take some consideration of the overwhelmingly negative feedback in the future. People complained about the rarity of event style pages and the jester daedroth costume parts and this year we had a page guaranteed in the gold event coffer during Jester's and Jubilee. By now, the best we can probably do is ask them to bring the 5 replicas back at some other point in time and to make them less difficult to obtain.

That's not the best we can do. We can ask, suggest, and beg them to increase the drop rates for the rest of this event now.

Making these so rare than many won't be able to ever get them is NOT in the spirit of a milestone celebration and it's causing a lot of stress among the playerbase.

Honestly, I did not expect it would be possible to get several from the description being “very rare” or “very small chance” or however it was worded exactly. I thought these were going to be the type of thing where you’d be lucky to get one until I read of players I read of players getting drops after a few dolmens/geysers/casts. I think players are used to being able to get all collectibles in an event, which I don’t say as a criticism or a bad thing, just different expectations.

This is not a celebration event, this is a torture event. I am a day 1 player on console. This is the first event where I will not get all the rewards by the end of the event. I have 3 of the 5 pages. I farmed dolmens for 10hrs today. Not only that, but I have done over 300 dolmens during the event so far. If it wasn't for these style pages, I would be enjoying the event doing things in the game I like to do to get boxes.

I get it is a choice to do, and I am choosing to do a grind I don't like. But this is torture. No other event has had style pages this challenging to get. Why introduce it in a celebration event? ZoS really needs to look at this and make it right for all the players who enjoy collecting all the style pages. Season 4 of D4 can't come fast enough.

These pages were a missed opportunity.

They could've tied the drop rate to in-game progress, kinda like how the dungeon masks have a higher drop rate if you've completed its Hard Mode.

Never set foot in Summerset before? I'm fine with giving the player the absurdly low geyser drop rate that we have now. And then increase that drop rate based on how much of Summerset they've completed, with people who have 100% of Summerset achievements getting a guaranteed drop.

Zero progress in the main quest? Low Staff of Worms drop rate. Fully completed the main quest and defeated the necromancer who was wielding this staff? Give them a guaranteed drop.

So instead of encouraging people to celebrate and play a wide swath of the game, the pages instead lock people into a soul-draining grind of a few narrowly-specific features of the game.

It's infuriating to see how thoroughly they dropped the ball on this.

Sitting in a spot and killing a boss every 5 mins, all while watching netflix, and making a ton of gold in doing so, was a fair enough experience for me.

It certainly isn't for me. I don't watch TV when I am playing. I don't even have a TV in this room. If I am playing ESO that is where my attention is. If I want to watch TV I log off and go in the other room and give that my attention.

But sitting watching Netflix for 5 minutes, killing a boss, going back to Netflix isn't really playing ESO or participating and enjoying the anniversary event.

No I think you misunderstand, watching netflix (and also a bit of youtube) on a second screen (tablet or phone) while playing. Not pausing it to kill a boss for 20 seconds.

like, I watched 3 hours of the Critical Role stream last night while I hung out at a world boss. Something I would have done anyways. And I earned boxes while I did it.

I wrote a 15 page paper for a class one day while sitting at a geyser. At least I got that done...cuz I still haven't had any success with the drops lol. Engaging gameplay.

I did end up chatting with another person sitting there all day so I guess it's bringing people together in our misery?

Why are you parked at one geyser? Its alot faster to do them all in a loop.

When 1 is done travel to next one active on map.

No wonder it takes some players hours to get a drop.
