It certainly isn't for me. I don't watch TV when I am playing. I don't even have a TV in this room. If I am playing ESO that is where my attention is. If I want to watch TV I log off and go in the other room and give that my attention.
But sitting watching Netflix for 5 minutes, killing a boss, going back to Netflix isn't really playing ESO or participating and enjoying the anniversary event.
No I think you misunderstand, watching netflix (and also a bit of youtube) on a second screen (tablet or phone) while playing. Not pausing it to kill a boss for 20 seconds.
like, I watched 3 hours of the Critical Role stream last night while I hung out at a world boss. Something I would have done anyways. And I earned boxes while I did it.
I wrote a 15 page paper for a class one day while sitting at a geyser. At least I got that done...cuz I still haven't had any success with the drops lol. Engaging gameplay.
I did end up chatting with another person sitting there all day so I guess it's bringing people together in our misery?
Why are you parked at one geyser? Its alot faster to do them all in a loop.
When 1 is done travel to next one active on map.
No wonder it takes some players hours to get a drop.
They were writing a 15 page paper… I am sure there were others trying to cook dinner between geysers, or helping their kid with their homework, or doing their taxes even.
There are forces outside of the game, not everyone can (or even want to) sit and farm geysers with 100% of their attention for hours. That was the problem with this terrible event.

Because grinding is not my jam and as I said, I had a lot of other stuff to do. It was the best compromise I could do with myself to get my irl obligations done and participate in the grind. I have done the round and round run as well, but I'm not inclined to do that all day.
Edit to add: I'm obviously not expecting all the same rewards as those who choose to dedicate all their time to this. However, when I am talking to people who spent all day doing only that and they have just as little to show for it, perhaps it is not a failing on my part to not dedicate all my time to something I don't like to end up with the same result as part time due to rng and lack of options on how to earn. I'll end up with burnout.
I'd rather be in Cyrodiil.

Ok I understand some players dont want to do the grind or dont have time.
But if you dont want to participate in a certain game activity to achieve a certain item or you dont have the time to play, why should Zos just make it super easy for you get them?
I and many more have a full time job and still where able to farm these style pages effectivly when we had time to do so.
If a player are parked at 1 geyser or 1 dolmen to obtain a very low RNG drop, of course it would take you a stupid amount of time to get that drop, while you have done 2 geysers other ones have done 12 in the same time.
2200 fish before I got the Trueflame, my only page so far.
612 dolmens, no page.
522 Geysers, no page.
I haven't counted the world bosses in Vvardenfell, but it hasn't been insignificant.
RNG has not been on my side this event.
I guess when I'm too busy to play ESO, I should expect ZOS to send me all the new loot anyway. Why not, if I'm subbed, right?

That's another thing I noticed. My friend started grinding the first day of the event and got all 5 pages in a few days. And I've heard of others that started early getting them all.
I didn't start the grind seriously for a couple of days and have been trying for my last drop for 9 days now.
I'd like clarification if the drop rates were made even more rare when the descriptions were changed.

Perhaps you'll understand better when they drop the Infographics showing what a raging success the participation in this event was. 854 bajillion Vvardenfell bosses killed!
Arizona_Steve wrote: »I read these, and as someone who was fortunate enough to get all of the drops in the first three days of the event, I feel bad for those that are trying day after day and getting nothing. RNG should not be a factor in any event, there are plenty of dailies, dungeons and other activities that could award the items after a number of them are completed.
ZOS should be able to figure out those who have made the effort and award them the item(s) at the end of the event.

What about those of us that have spent hours every day for countless days on end and still haven't gotten a drop? Today will be my 9th day trying to get Sunna'rah. I've put in the time and the effort and anything that still isn't dropping after dedicating an entire work week grinding for it needs to be looked at.
These style page drop rates have completely destroyed what should be a happy and rewarding celebration.

That's not the best we can do. We can ask, suggest, and beg them to increase the drop rates for the rest of this event now.
Making these so rare than many won't be able to ever get them is NOT in the spirit of a milestone celebration and it's causing a lot of stress among the playerbase.

They're not changing the drop rates for this event, especially considering how there are only a few days left. Players complained from the beginning and the only change the devs made was in the announcement text. I of course agree the excessive rarity is not in the spirit of a milestone celebration and it's stressing many players. However, asking, suggesting and begging for a change now will come to nothing, whereas asking and suggesting for the pages to return and to be more easily obtainable could yield results.

I hope the pages return for the console anniversary next year, this stinks. Sad little defeated party here at the Queen's Consort at 2 AM....
