U39 - PTS Endeavours: more choice is less it seems

    I can overlook the 6 event tickets and the 350 enemies for the weekly endeavors. But the daily endeavors just seem like a complete pain to do. I usually skip endeavors if they are narrow focused too much.

    If it's late in the night, and it asks me to do a Trial, Dungeon, Tribute, Arena, and something else, I will be just skipping that day and head to bed.

    Please keep the endeavor quests vague and broad, so that people incentivized to do them.

    If they want people to stop doing endeavours they should just remove them. This is just ridiculous.

    If they remove them the onus is on them.

    If they keep them but make them awkward is the players' fault, we just didn't want to make the effort.

    Lazy lazy people that just want handouts amirite?

    These changes are such a stab in the back for those that:
    A) play solo
    B ) don't have all the DLCs
    C) are new to dungeons/trials
    D) have limited time
    E) play during off-peak hours
    F) Don't care for that silly card game
    G) did not join guilds

    Well, I guess that answers the question how I'm going to divide my time when BG3 releases in August.
      PAWS (Positively Against Wrip-off Stuff) - Say No to Crown Crates!. Outfit slots not being accountwide is ridiculous given their price. PC EU/PC NA roleplayer and solo PvE quester

      Wow, it's getting even worse... Making battleground with guildmate? And not one, but 2 matches? This is just ridicolous. Playing ESO slowly becames like toxic relationships - it demands more nad more from you and at the same time it gives you less and less.

      Even if these new activities would give 20 seals each, I wouldn't bother to do them.There is only so much I can take from these devs, and my limit is soon reached.

      Oh come on…this is ridiculous. Do some specific dungeon?? Or do another specific dungeon? Or do a specific trial??

      They aren’t offering more variety—they are trying to restrict the number of endeavor awards player can acquire by playing the game.

      If this change goes through, I will no longer bother with endeavors. Since they began, ZOS has slowly been lowering the benefits and now they are both raising the difficulty and decreasing the incentive. Wait in endless queues with everyone trying to crowd into the same dungeon? And you won’t even get the random dungeon reward because you have to choose a particular one? Uh-uh. Not me.

        Besides that obvious awfulness of these endeavors, which everyone has brought up... one other effect this is likely to have is that players are going to flood into some of these activities (ie: scalecaller, fang lair, bg's, etc.,) who are not prepared for them and, more importantly, DO NOT WANT TO BE THERE and have no intention of really putting in any effort - they just want their seals.

        It's going to make these activities so much more toxic.

        These are very clearly explicitly curated to only show the new additions to the roations. I HIGHLY doubt all of these will appear together like this in the live game.

        Even so, the revulsion to group play is frankly hilarious considering it is a valid part of the game, whether you want to participate in it or not, and rightly deserves its place within the endeavor rewards system.

        This. As if solo queuing for dungeons is not already a terrible experience. Making everyone queue for specific dungeon will only make more fake tanks, healers and DDs with no damage mindlessly rushing through mobs without killing them, breaking quest of that low level new player who had a misfortune of getting that group.

        I think there is no confusion about that fact - people know that the PTS is to show of new features, even so, I think the clear negative reactions from the community should send the devs back to the drawing boards. As they are presented to us now, they are a serious step up in difficulty to complete as they are way more specific and time consuming.

        Plus, running dungeons with people who don't like dungeons is an awful experience. I know I would actually like to avoid the endeavor dungeon(s)... not do them for the easy endeavors.

        The STEAM article says: "Update 39 also includes the addition of new types of weekly and daily Endeavors, giving you a greater variety of ways to earn your Seals of Endeavor. Examples include Endeavors that ask you to complete Tales of Tribute matches; capture Farms, Keeps, or Towns in Cyrodiil; and complete Trials with guild mates."

        I was hoping they were for weekly endeavors but it seems it also apply for daily ones and by a lot. I am really disappointed with the next change. I believe the current options are fine and consider this move to forcefully buy motifs styles from the Crown store instead of spending your very little and hard earned seals.

        YIKES. Having to do a SPECIFIC dungeon is absolute horrid.

        ZOS please do not let this go live. This makes the endeavor system much, much worse.

        Even the optimistic estimate (500 seals a week x 52 weeks) gives 26,000 seals a year
        in the case player diligently does them all, never goes on vacations, never gets sick, never gets distracted by the real life.
        I thought this is a quite slow pace (like 2,000 seals per month), and if player spots something shiny,
        they hardly have enough time to collect the necessary amount of seals before this shiny item vanishes from the Store.

        The initial idea was to reward just playing a game, not requiring too much time/efforts from players.
        This "upgrade" seems to be quite the opposite. Quite the upsetting change, in my humble opinion :(

        Oh man I just scrolled through the whole thread - making you play ToT or having to "do something with a guildmate?"

        They are intentionally trying to kill the endeavor system. These are absolutely terrible. Terrible, terrible, terrible changes.

        My play time is getting thin again and I was trying to hold out until Q4 for the dungeon, but if I can't even complete the endeavors in a reasonable amount of time when I log in then it may just drive me to stop playing. More time consuming chores instead of something actually fun.

        I don't seem to remember anyone asking for changes like this...

        Oh well, if\when this goes live , I'll do like most others and just skip doing them for those days. They can then look at their metrics and see how unpopular the new changes will be.

        I know the Devs almost never revert changes from their initial PTS patches, but this is one that screams "DONT DO THIS" to me.

        I can only remember a single case where devs completely backtracked on something: cast time on shields.

        And that change was unanimously despised.

        These are horrible. A pug run of a Scalecaller Peak or any other dlc dungeon can take an hour or more - no one would be interested in doing that for measly 15 seals. If anything, endeavors should be less specific - for example, instead of "Killing a delve boss in Glenumbra" it should be "kill any delve boss" because with these super specific endeavors places get super crowded and people are forced to camp these bosses.

        Kill 1 Dragon Kill Dragons to complete this endeavor. These ancient behemoths soar over the Khajiiti homeland of Elsweyr.

        Of those, the only one that IMO is reasonable as a daily is to defeat the dragon. The others are far removed from the original design\intent of endeavors. Complete Scalecaller Peak and Banished Cells II?!?!? There's already something for those in the game - they're called undaunted pledges, lol. Why not just have a daily endeavor to complete a 1undaunted pledge instead or just leave it at complete 1 dungeon?

        Why change the battleground to require a guildmate?!?!? Just leave it at "complete a battleground " [snip]


        As a general rule in endeavors, non-specificity is your friend...
