Is this ZOS' idea on trying to revitalize older content more? They're also so much more specific, and I have a feeling that new players could be locked out of specific endeavors based off their difficulty and it being DLC they don't have. That basically means less people would be making use of the endeavor system.

So adding new endeavours really is just code for we're making them 1000 times less appealing and harder to get...

This was exactly my fear and it seems I was right.
If ZOS messes up the Seal System with trying to make me spend 5 times more in the game each day by completing a task which gives me miserable 10 seals each, I will uninstall this game and never look back.
Seals and tickets are the only 2 things I log in for each day now.

Guess their "improvements" are meant to make people not go 3/3 every single day if interact with a system on purpose at all. It's no more about minding your own business getting rewarded as was advertised previously but a very niche targeting.

I don't like the sound of these new Endeavors. As someone who has made time to complete all of the daily and weekly endeavors every day since release, I fear I might run into a situation one day where I simply cannot finish all of them. Maybe that's the intent?

Yes, I think that's the intent. Further increase the time investment and make a half hearted attempt to mask it as a 'good thing' (hey, we are giving you more options, never mind the fact that all of them *** compared to the ones you have now, more is always better right? right!?)

With the current endeavours most days is feasible for me to complete all three dailies on multiple accounts without going 'too far out of my way'.

With the endeavour selection listed, probably not possible at least for me unless I drop some of the other 'daily chores'. They already take around 3 hours every day, I cannot add another hour+ of 'chores' without breaking the psychological barrier of 'is this even worth playing now?'.

EDIT: Also **** ToT and the horse it rode on in.

Its existence was tolerable while it stayed neatly out of my radar but the more the devs try to push it into focus the more intolerable it becomes.

I've already given up one of the chapter rewards of all things because of this abomination, now they want to plaster it right, left and centre on daily activities.

Stream of expletives that would make a dock worker blush...

Oh my god, NO! Don't try and force me to do ToT. Plus, naming a specific dungeon or trial is a failure too. Especially naming a trial when we don't have an activity finder for trials. Generally, play off hours and if it is a specific dungeon or trial, I will never get those done. Shoot, even when it is any trial, I generally can't get it done and have to do the other ones instead of that one.

Thought when they spoke about improved endeavors it would be more choices to complete and not more restrictive choices.

    Stay safe :)

It does look like endeavours were perhaps too successful and they want to give players a nudge towards 'this is too much hassle when I can reach for my wallet instead' territory.

This is the wrong direction if this is the case. I thought they meant that they were either going to increase the amount of seals given for weekly and daily or maybe more than 3 and 1. Or even some other in game way or getting them like in event boxes.

Less choice: complete "1 Trial" or "1 Dungeon" has become complete a named Trial/Dungeon. Including activities that relatively few people do, like ToT and Geysers, actually reduces the choice for most people. Sneaky.

Speaking personally there isn't one thing among those five that I would do.

This is Crown Store stuff, so I wonder if people are collecting too many, too quickly. If so, they have choices... increase prices, reduce the number awarded, or make them harder to get. Or... all three!

If they are going to "improve" this with more specific named tasks, I will probably stop paying attention to them. This is becoming guided activities rather than just doing things we already do.

Hopefully this is an example of what may be added as ONE of the daily endeavors, and we will still have a selection of more reasonably accessible endeavors. I wouldnt mind if they did away with some to encourage more engagement with the game (killing specifically 10 Frost Atro's just leads to a pile of people in reapers march frantically ulti dumping everything they see, a more general category like 'kill 10 elementals' or 'undead' or 'bugs' will get people exploring the world without piling into a single specific instance to farm mobs in competition with eachother), but a lot of those simple endeavors like craft X or decon Y, while mundane and mindless to vet players, honestly helps teach new players about systems they are less familiar with/refresh returning players that they should do these things.

If this is a sample of what could be given on any day... honestly its disappointing. As someone who enjoys random dungeons and would normally run multiple a day, I've already stopped because its /always/ scriveners hall of late. With this system (and the examples given in OP)? itll be Banished cells or fang lair for every random you queue, and personally... If i just did fang lair as a random on one character, if I got it a second time... Id apologize and drop. group now needs to find a tank- which with the busted queues may never happen. Imagine if Lair of Maarselok was listed in that.... hard pass. Moves like this dont encourage people to buy more from the store, they encourage people to not engage with a system.

Run a dungeon, run a dungeon in a group, run a random dungeon, hell run 2 or 3 dungeons, non specific, I'd happily take over a specific dungeon. and a trial on a daily? a SPECIFIC trial? No. Just No.

ToT matches I do not care for at all, and just wouldn't do it. I wouldn't mind it being there though, as its personal preference that I do not like it, and does not require 11 other people to cooperate. except its locked behind a chapter. This is not an incentive to buy the chapter, this is a 'wow, this company is desperate for my money' sort of look, and that is not a good look.

How could any of us be collecting too many endeavour seals too quickly? The most we can collect in a week is about 450 seals, so items costing, say, 7200 seals take roughly 16 weeks to buy, and 9600 seal items take 21 weeks (at least they did for me). Not exactly what I'd call too quickly.

This is probably me just being optimistic, but maybe it's possible that at least part of the reason for the specific dungeon/trial endeavors is to encourage new players into running more of the older content and the endeavors are a way to incentivize us veteran players to run them through. Sort of a compromise and encourage us to play with more newbie players.

Plus, it can tempt a prospective new long term player into buying the older DLCs.

    THESE CHANGES ARE HORRIBLE. :s

The original design was meant as a reward for just playing the game.
Therefore, the original design rewards general tasks people are doing anyway.

The new rewards come only for specific time consuming tasks.
The new design only rewards people willing to play things they do not want to play.

The original reward design probably was too successful.
Therefore, ZOS decided to kill it by making tasks a chore.

ZOS. ZOS. When I posted a few days ago that all the daily grindwork was making me want to actually play the game less, the appropriate solution to that was not for you to make Endeavors so awful that no one will ever want to do them again!

Like, are you trying to kill player interest in this game deliberately because the board of directors is itching to move to the next profitmaker project, and killing a game that no one much is playing anymore looks better than killing a game that's still popular? 'Cause you should really know that's what your decisions are looking like, more and more. At the very least, they're obviously being made by devs who haven't played ESO in a while, if they think this fits with any ESO playerbase meta.

I've been riding the ESO train since 2013. Please don't make me regret the ride with ridiculous decisions that aren't based in any kind of ESO gamer reality. :/

    Apparently so.

I guess the 'Endeavours' system has a set of goals that we have failed to meet so they need to tighten the nut a few revolutions so we do meet whatever those goals are moving forward.

Rewarding the players is probably just a side-effect of the system that cannot be completely avoided but can be curved.

Many changes lately, I'm already seeing other forums wondering if zos is trying to change that and slowly kill the solo game, make it more "hard core". I can say confidently if they DO want to change it into a sweaty, must group to do anything type game I'm out. At least EQ1 I can have a monk. Oof this awful. I run a lot of group content and this is a big nope.

Adding these to the existing endeavors would be more choice, but this is less choice.

Scalecaller Peak? Have the developers actually tried to PUG this? Typical experience. "Does everyone know mechs?" Silence. Wipe. "I can explain mechs." Silence. Wipe. 2 people leave.
