Hey everyone, just a quick reminder that all monsters in the zone have a chance to drop Event Tickets. If the world bosses are too crowded, you might want to try a delve or another area of the map when killing creatures.

Wouldn't not capping loot to 12 people just solve the issue.

I mean, it would solve the issue for drops but not for the unbearable lag but that's a whole other story....

No. Because people would still stand there whinging about the spawn times when they could walk out back, slap a crocodile and get tickets. She was trying to educate you on how the event works. Yes the cap is lame. But removing it wont stop you all wasting your time.

This could work or not... Several of my guild mates were killing trash mobs in delves, delve bosses and world bosses and tickets/boxes weren't in the loot...

People keep saying this comment about just walking out and killing anything, as if all you had to do is just run up to the nearest monster, and done. That is not true. You may get a drop faster than standing and waiting for a boss to respawn, but you also may have to hunt down and kill a few mobs before you get a drop. The mobs are spaced out, and there are others in the zone killing things, so it may take a few mobs, and a few minutes, to get tickets and the loot box.

I am pretty sure that the drop rate for overland mobs is well below 50%. That would be expected. You will probably have to find and kill around a half dozen mobs to get the tickets more often than just killing one.

Personally, I do think that this is the way to go, but there is no reason to make it sound easier than it is.

    Oh Arun, Arun, Arun ...

Looks like you didn’t read the Event details fully to know there are other ways to get the strong boxes and ticket rewards ...

Always. There is always one fan boy that sticks up for ZOS. Always one!

I wanted a drop from a world boss. I don't want to run around competing with other players for a chance to get a hit on a single enemy. I read it perfectly fine, thank you.

Always one fan boy. Please move along.

As an Systems, Server and Network Engineer, I can genuinely tell you this. You are the worst kind of person for feedback. I want to know what needs tweaking and fixing.

    Nope.

You’re trying to apply your experience at one world boss as a failure of the Event itself.

Be sure to brush up on your slippery slope fallacies before making another post.

Did it ever occur to you that I'm doing a quest and would like a reward.

    Slippery slope, lol.

Have at me, I won't be responding to you again.

I really wish they'd remove the 12 person loots limit, it rarely impacts me but it does limit a lot of folks. It would also be nice to do some of these fights with my less tuned characters that are sub optimal...but then no loot.

I'm not a big fan of the way this event was designed, and there are definitely some aspects that are, let's say, not exactly an improvement over past events. IMO, yes, (1) drops should be guaranteed, at least the tickets and first strongbox, (2) the ticket limit should be lifted, and (3) I see pros and cons, but it might be better if fragments were not bound.

That being said, it's certainly not as devastatingly, apocalyptically bad as some people are making it out to be.

So far, both days, both accounts, both servers... so, let's see, 8/8 experiences... I've logged in, killed several things (I've had good luck with wamasu), picked up my tickets and first strongbox within 10 minutes, and then proceeded to keep killing things for another 15-20 minutes, generally picking up another 1-2 strongboxes each time. All but one of my strongboxes has had a fragment. I bought the third berry on day 1, so I guess now I'll be going back to feathers.

Granted, my RNG has been pretty good... this time around. But it's certainly not always, for every event. So, I speak from experience when I say, it's not worth freaking out over to the extent that some people are. Do you really desperately want the slug pet? I have a sneaking suspicion it will be back next year. There will be other events this quarter for the berries. No luck with WBs? Go kill other things for even 10 minutes and you will more likely than not be all set.

Also, despite people's complaints about the zone, I personally find it quite lovely and interesting for a change of pace, even if it is small.

The tickets should've been in the strongboxes from the get go. Whoever decided to have them loose on mobs needs to re-evaluate that decision.

I'm glad you've had such good luck, but the problem is, it's RNG, so for every player like you, there are players that don't get more than one box after hours of farming and the box they do get doesn't have a fragment. That was my experience last night. I might try again tonight, since you had good luck, so maybe mine will be better, but honestly, my experience just turned me off from even wasting my time trying. Since at the end of the day, it's all RNG. If the frags weren't bound, it would make up for that, as those who are lucky can sell to those that aren't. However, since they are bound - or at least they go directly to collections - the luck involved means that some players just won't get everything they want, while others will easily get them. If duplicate fragments drop after you've already collected them, and they are tradable, then that would help. But, this is the first event where the special rewards seem to be completely bound and completely reliant on RNG.

As for the tickets, they could easily have made them part of the reward for your first daily turn-in. Two of the dailies are available immediately upon entering Lilmoth, so a brand-new player or player new to the zone would have no problems picking one up and going to the WB or delve to complete it and then turn in for their tickets. I understand the reasoning behind their decision to put them in the enemy loot, since then you can just do whatever you want and earn tickets. Except some of us may not want to mindlessly wander around finding mobs to kill to get tickets. It only took me two mobs to get mine, but took my spouse six. Then, after we got our tickets, we went and did what we actually wanted to do in the zone, which is the dailies for the double reward drops.

I purposely wayshrined into a remote area of the zone. Killed 3 things, a hoarvor, a wamasu and a troll. The troll was the first thing to give me loot and it gave me the tickets and the box.

Not hard at all. My point was something different from that, though. My point was that there are people who are presenting this as if you could just walk up to the next monster you find and get your event tickets. Guaranteed. This is not the case. It took you 10 minutes, tops. Great. I think people should say that, instead of making it sound like the mobs are lining up, fighting to be at the head of the line, to be the one to hand you the tickets and loot box.

Definitely seems you got better odds on more than one strongbox than many others posting.

There's a whole other thread right now with people spending hours trying to get just a SECOND strongbox to drop - to get nada. And the few who commented in that thread about getting that 2nd box - most without any other fragment.

While its not a problem to get your daily tickets with RNG apparently (for most anyway seems like), the rate of additional strongboxes is definitely less than the first. With most people posting right now of the opinion that the odds of being able to get enough fragments for any one of the two items is slim to none (because of how few additional strongboxes with fragments they are reporting anyway).

And since THIS event, vs. ALL the rest of them, you can't trade or sell those fragments to get what you want --

Means that yea..it looks more and more like a "let's get them to buy on the crown store for this" ploy - more so than all the other events prior (where fragments were not BoP).

Cuz yea, if you specifically design the stats so that every strongbox (or strongbox with fragment) after the first has *that* much less change to drop (so that there are pages and pages of people not even getting a 2nd strongbox at all, when the first drops within 10-15 minutes) -- then yea, you just altered the whole point.

I wasn't interested in the fragments myself so it doesn't directly affect me. Other than the bad taste this leaves in my mouth - so its still a lose/lose. Its shady. Its not how all the other events have been. Its not cool.

*Edited to add: there are TWO whole separate threads now..not just one..of pages of people never getting a 2nd strongbox or only getting 2 within 5-8 hours of farming. Even less with a 2nd fragment. You really have the luck of the irish with your strongbox rng!* ;)

Here's the problem(s) with this event:

Ran a guild event last night running the two daily quests. We were in zone about an hour and a half. I got my tickets and box around 5 minutes in. One of the members of the group didn't get any tickets or box at all. Which means either she was *very* unlucky with RNG or she accidentally missed a loot drop. Seems a pretty steep price to pay for one small oversight. Whereas, if the tickets and loot box dropped with the first daily quest turn in of the day, there would be no RNG and no issues with missing loot.

Also, I got a second loot box drop. Opened both boxes...no fragments of either the pet or the stake. If I were interested in collecting either or both of these, I'd be looking at the hours and hours a day I'd have to spend farming the zone hoping and praying that I would get enough boxes, and get lucky enough with the drops, that I could complete both runeboxes. But..oh, wait! I can buy the pieces that I need with event tickets. Which you can buy with crowns.

Yep, this entire event is nothing but a cash grab by ZOS. Expect future events to follow this model.

Why wouldn't you be able to loot if you are part of the groups that kill the WB? It's no different than the new Elsweyr zones those spawn times are super long IMO.

Well, I did 2.7% damage, the other person in my group did 3.7%. He got loot from the boss and I got nothing.

This is the fourth time I've tried to loot the boss.

    Great event

Well too bad, maybe you should get better at the game, oh wait you cant because the game doesnt works and half the skills dont even go off. Welcome to what it feels like to be a pvp player in ps4 and xbox.

This excitement of getting the event tickets has worn off, as I was able to get one on Thursday. But since then, running mobs, delves, WB, killing just about everything moving in Murkmire hasn't offered up another ticket. Even doing the dailies hasn't helped. I even got up at 3:00 AM to do the WB which was nice as there were only 8 of us there, but still nothing. Bummer.

On the bright side, this was the first time I actually spent some time in this zone so all is not lost.

You really have the luck of the irish with your strongbox rng!* ;)

Yeah... that's why I made a point of saying that my RNG luck is usually nowhere near this good. :D

I was not in any way trying to suggest that because my luck has been good, other people aren't having a different experience. The point I was trying to make is that I've been through this enough times with other events, when my luck was really bad to say that it's given me some perspective, and it's not the end of the world. For better or for worse, events get recycled. No one's missing out anything super awesomely amazing, much less something super awesomely amazing that will never appear again, even if their RNG is terrible.

As I said above, I also certainly agree that they could have designed this event better. I get why it's frustrating for people. I'm just saying, for the people who are spending nine hours farming for a single pet fragment-- for a pet you may not even really want that much-- and getting increasingly angry about it, you might want to step back and get some perspective.

The 12 limit is an anti-botting measure; stop stacks of 100 bots on one boss farming gold mostly.
Theoretically. But I also don't see bot stacks at dolmens (no limit at the chest, not the last boss) and Elsweyr dragons where there's no 12-limit. Even if the entire stack died they could just rez after the fight and pick up the loot.
Maybe it was an anti-botting measure at one point (were bots even more openly botting than they do now?) but it's no longer needed.

Could be. Search videos from release on delve boss farming. Enough bots parked there that bosses insta-died and players never could register any damage. Also, the gold from dragons, at least, is so low that it negates the farming.

For dolmens and dragons it wouldn't be about the gold -- it'd be about the Iridium and possibly Zircon from deconstructing jewelry. But obviously they aren't doing that because prices only went up since the master writ update. A flood of mats should have dropped the price a lot.

I know ZOS's intention was to make you spend some "quality time" in dungmire, rather than going in, doing one thing, escaping to somewhere that doesn't suck and stink, but it screws over anyone who's got a limited time to get in and play, as well.

Kindly go back to "first boss you kill always drops" for events, this is just annoying.
