Did the WB daily (after getting box and tickets from a random trash mob because I figured it would be faster), the Argonian one. Even though there were about 5000 people around him, it still took longer than needed to kill him because everyone was too busy spamming AoEs where the boss would resurrect and ignoring the surrounding adds that have to be killed for him to come back, save me and like one other. I had to chuckle.

I think I’ll skip those two dailies from now on and just do the Root Whisper one, as I still need motif pieces from that one.

No fragment in my guaranteed daily loot box on my EU character though, harrumph. The first one at least should definitely always contain one of the fragments.

That's not new. Zos' system treats tanks and healers like scum. I've tanked for WBs before where I didn't even get a drop. Not that I need the gear they dropped, but it's a little disheartening. And it doesn't have to be 12+ people there either, I've missed out when only 4-5 people were there.

No one appreciates their tanks and healers until a boss is chasing them around kicking arse and taking names.

And don't even get me started on pvp events. Healers get screwed over so hard in IC. I gave a couple hundred key frags to my healer in MYM because they started to sound so despondent about getting nothing from Molag Bal. The whole system is a giant disgrace.

Tanks and Healers are only needed for Dungeon content. Expecting overland content to cater to healing and tanking isn't reasonable. Changing your gear for an event also isn't that difficult. It isn't like you need to be a top tier DPS to kill a hackwing in the middle of nowhere.

It's an mmo, and I expect that in all content where people teaming up that all roles can play their part and not handicapped by design.

...But... how are we supposed to get more strongboxes with Voriplasm Pet / Grave stake memento ? One per day on an event that lasts 13 days, with one day "lost" (because of game re-download) - so 12 days... and 14 fragments to get... With RNG you will get some duplicates so event tickets may be not enough.

Any way to get more than one per day ?

It's worse than that, I just collected my box and there was no fragment of either momento/pet within it!

    Same :/

I wasn't excited about this event in the first place, Murkmire isn't for me, so was just going to to run out for tickets and leave. I failed to catch that tickets had a chance to drop, not would drop, from any mob. So I wasted time killing mobs and then thought oh no it bugged out because I my first kill wasn't lootable. Eventually had enough and decided to try a WB to see if that would give me my tickets, and it did thankfully. The loot box with it though was so underwhelming, 10 rubidite ore and some treasure worth 250 gold. I'm actually really happy that I wasn't super excited about this event, since it seems like another gigantic let down for people who wanted to get ALL THE THINGS from this event. Best of luck to those of you chasing the items, I hope you are able to get everything!

No, but it is also not the way it should work. In the past, over the course of many days, we were able to log into the game and kill one (1) trash mob and get a whole pet as a reward. We don't have to do it more than once, and that can be the only time we even log into the game. BUT... during an event, they can't give us guaranteed daily Event Tickets and the random junk box for killing that same mob. [insert head scratching gif here]

Instead, they have a 100% drop rate for a couple boss mobs, and some unspecified "chance" for everything else, and make things more complicated than it really needs to be. Of course people are going to gravitate to the 100% drop rate. Everyone already knows that this game is an RNG-fest full of low drop rates. That is part of all new player training.

There is no 100% drop rate. The CMs confirmed it was a “chance” at tickets and the strongbox even from bosses. People converge on world bosses because they are conditioned to do so from past events and because the chance is higher. But it’s still a chance — and I don’t mean a chance to get any loot. If you do earn loot from a world boss, it’s still a chance at the tickets & strongbox.

I really wish odds for things like this had to be disclosed by law.

Having run across some articles discussing how surveillance capitalism is being coupled with machine learning (AI) makes me more and more concerned about the lack of odds disclosures for anything that could involve manipulation of human behavior for profit. Granted, this is somewhat normal and expected in a capitalist economic system but the mechanisms allowed in some forms of media (such as video games) coupled with algorithms can make for an unprecedented level of manipulation. There are no laws in place protecting consumers from a game publisher adjusting drop rates in a game you play to manipulate you into paying to win something instead. With all the data they collect on us, they know our spending habits, what we spend our time doing in the game, and can develop a model to figure out just how to manipulate us. You can bet that as gamble crates have become politically untenable that other more insidious methods will take their place instead.

If you think this sounds crazy, I suggest doing some research: https://www.psychologyofgames.com/2019/11/patently-worrisome-in-game-offers/. Some of you might have seen news last week about Sony filing for another patent that raises some red flags - https://metro.co.uk/2020/02/11/sony-patents-help-system-sell-microtransactions-stuck-12223062/

Just be careful and mindful that this is the direction the industry is heading, folks. While filing patents doesn't mean something will be used, human greed can be reliably counted upon.

Why wouldn't you be able to loot if you are part of the groups that kill the WB? It's no different than the new Elsweyr zones those spawn times are super long IMO.

new elsweyr zones do not limit loot to 12 people.

and when we had Elsweyr event - getting tickets was NOT a... chance drop. it was guaranteed drop. so not the same at all

this event is a mess TBH. what i would suggest to minimize the messiness, personaly is - kill random outdoor trash until you get tickets and gold box, and THEN kill bosses for quests or whatever.

wait.. some zones have a 12 person cap on who can get loot? I'd like to meet the idiot who thought of that idea.

It's a holdover from the anti-goldfarmer mechanics way back at launch. Designed to prevent 100 level 3s from simulspamming one ability on a delve boss.

The first kill of the day for anything is suppose to guarantee tickets and one strong box. After that you have a very slight chance to get a strong box. What I suspect the cause is for many players not seeing either is the same as hits the dolems during other events. If you aren't in the top 12 you can't loot the boss and if you can't loot the boss you won't get the tickets or strongbox.

I did not try to use the boss for my tickets. Instead I went and killed mobs in the delve quest and received both my tickets and guaranteed strongbox. After that I completed the boss quest so I could turn it in for double rewards boxes.

    Oh Arun, Arun, Arun ...

Looks like you didn’t read the Event details fully to know there are other ways to get the strong boxes and ticket rewards ...

Always. There is always one fan boy that sticks up for ZOS. Always one!

I wanted a drop from a world boss. I don't want to run around competing with other players for a chance to get a hit on a single enemy. I read it perfectly fine, thank you.

Always one fan boy. Please move along.

As an Systems, Server and Network Engineer, I can genuinely tell you this. You are the worst kind of person for feedback. I want to know what needs tweaking and fixing.

    Nope.

You’re trying to apply your experience at one world boss as a failure of the Event itself.

Be sure to brush up on your slippery slope fallacies before making another post.

You don't have to do the world boss dailies. With how the box and ticket is meant to drop, a world boss is just 1 enemy, and you're wasting time waiting around for it for 1 drop chance.

Do the delve daily instead and kill all the enemies you come across. I did that and had my 3 tickets and strongbox before I even killed any bosses.

You are better off killing trash as you quest around in murkmire for tickets and box with how this event is structured.

Lots of players in Murkmire are confused as to why they are not getting drops from the WB's. Most of the WB's have 40+ players at the location and the WB dies in milliseconds. I went out and found a lone Wamasu in the zone and killed it, I got the tickets and the box, then I do the daily's for the double rewards.

Yep, FAIL. Killed the WB (one of only two in this small zone) several times and got zero loot. And ZoS, please don’t tell us to just go somewhere else. Any and all of the events/entities you said would drop loot should, for everyone. Poorly designed as it was poorly planned and communicated. The zone is too small for an event like this. Where’s the next big event, Stros M’Kai? Remove the cap on loot!

Perhaps things will settle down after the first day but so far this is just a waste of time ...

So, I went back to check things out again a few hours later. I saw a lot fewer people in the zone, many just standing around throughout the zone. I spent about an hour wandering through the zone looking for things to kill - overland, one delve, two WBs. I got the usual valueless loot from everything (no loot from one of the WBs again) and finally a ‘strong box’ from a regular low level monster. It had 20 rubedo leather and a worthless blue armor piece. Wow, impressive loot. This Event is a complete waste of time. Now I understand why they didn’t give much notice or advertise it much.

It also makes me think now that they purposely embedded U25 in an event to stress test their Update, as they did with the Undaunted event. I guess they thought this event would draw a massive crowd. There will be at least one missing from that massive crowd in this ‘Event’.
